  1. I would have said kvd just a few months ago but since I've been watching Scott Martins YouTube channel you get to see the personality of a person and he seem like the cooler one.
  2. How much are you trying to spend? Because you could use something inexpensive for jerk baits I use a cheap 6'6 vengeance mf and it does the job you don't need a hole lot of sensitivity for trebles but the vengeance has enough for me for now at least I also use it for some cranking, poppers and light spinnerbaits I plan on upgrading to the st croix mojo jerk bait rod for next season.
  3. Not a big fan of vmc. for weedles wacky rigging i use an owner circle hook seems to help a lot in the weeds.
  4. Yes a dingo ate my baby!
  5. Please do keep us posted on your new fk once you get to put it to some use,I was going to get it but decided to get the ci4.
  6. Verritas for 79 bucks is a freaking steal! I don't know if they are going to be upgrading to something new but I would presume so. I don't know why they made the new verritas look like the lower end vengeance maybe that's why they didn't do so well?
  7. I'm in California and my guess for the water temps are probably ranging from 40s to 50s depending where your at and if it's snowing or raining the rain has been warming up the water and melting away a lot of snow most lakes don't ever freeze over completely enuf to safely walk on unless you're in higher elevations, most lakes central California probably gets thin layers of ice on the water sometimes but never frozen over I don't think?
  8. Well the question was if This is a good reel and what their opinion was on it, I have one and that is my opinion you have a different opinion that's fine your entitled to it.
  9. Aside all the Diawa fan boys the conclusion of the matter is there is no reel out there on the market for fresh water bass fishing, which is what I do, that is better built and as light as the nasci for 100 bucks ,bottom line. this is true ... lol
  10. I used to have a Powell desiel medium spinning 7. It was a good rod had the back bone of a mh strong and well built. It was tip heavy, that was not that big of a deal , i like Powell just from my experience with the deisel.
  11. I used to change out all my hooks but it got expensive so now i only do it if the bait is effective and has crapppy hooks otherwise I see no need to change them, if they are nickel plated I won't change them unless they bend out. If I had the money to be changing out all my hooks I'd probably use owner stingers.
  12. I have a ghost and the blanks are phenomenal for a 100$rod I've had no issues with the micro guides.
  13. 70 braking system is remarkably better.
  14. Booyah spinnerbaits are cheap and effective I also like the war eagle and the terminator spinnerbaits and pepper custom baits these are the only ones I use I throw them on a 7 mhmf rod on 15 pound floro. If your new to spinnerbaits start of with small spinnerbaits like pond magics they work!
  15. Seen bigfoot taking a dookie behind some bushes. I got so scared I dropped my brand new tfo fly rod.
  16. What do you use currently for your finesse applications? Just curious?
  17. Lucy craft rto squarebill
  18. I think the bass x is a good rod it's basically got the same blanks as the older mojo I wouldn't buy the bass x because I rather have the sclll blanks.
  19. In all reality they are both good reels built to last. You really can't go wrong with Diawa or shimano once you get at that 100$ price point.
  20. Oh really you like it better? do you happen to own one and fish with it or is this simply you deciding you like a product by simply looking at it? The nasci has a hagane body with x ship plenty strong.
  21. 7 fast will balance out better the 3000 and the 2500 weight is the same 8.8 ounces they share the same body only difference is the spool.see shimano website. I paired it up with a 6'8 medium xf and it didn't work for me as far as balance so I put it on a 7 medium fast I got the 3000 size. It's a solid reel bro I'm talking solid for the price but I guess I'm getting used to lighter reels because I do feel the weight and it bugs me a little but the reel is perfectly balanced and fluid.
  22. Yes it is, no better spinning reel for the price it's a solid reel I recommend it. One down side it's a bit heavy for some people.IMO
  23. Conclusion of this matter Diawa or shimano it's your first high end baitcaster. Don't screw this up man! lol I'm just playing man no but really Diawa or shimano hahaha. I'm just joking really everyone has a brand that they are adamant about wether lews, abu, phluger whatever. I think the reason we are so passionate about a certain product is because of past mistakes and the learning process which could take more than just one high end reel to figure out what is ultimately best for you most of us are adamant with this topic because we went threw those problems with prior reels during the process of investing in a high end reel I guess what I'm trying to say is We don't want you to make the mistakes that we made.
