  1. Ultimatlely the perfect rod for me would have to be custom. I won’t be going that route however, I think I’m deciding on a dobyns champ 685c. Thank you guys for your help I’ll keep you posted...
  2. Yes finally something I think will work the hammer rods checked them out online and I like what I’m seeing so far I think the 6’9 medium or medium heavy have a moderate action that I think I’m looking for so far I like these rods the price is good. I’m considering these no doubt. The downside is that there crankbait specific rods all start at the 7 foot plus.
  3. I will throw mainly 3/8 ounce. And lighter. Half ounce Excaliburs sometimes.
  4. I’ll be using it for 1/4 ,3/8 1/2 ounce the heaviest squarebills mainly also light 3/16 to 1/4 ounce spinnerbaits I’ll be throwing them in grass and mainly muddy structures some rock but mainly muddy structures under trees and at docks tight spots that’s why I want the 6’9 6’10 the handle or butt end of the rod I prefer 14 because 15 bugs me a little when casting from a sitting position on a kayak or even just standing. I have a mhm 7 St. Croix for most of my crankbait applications and spinnerbaits but this will be for the lighter baits and to get in tight spots make those more accurate cast.
  5. I’ve considered the spinnerbait special Levante by megabass it’s in my budget but I’ve heard it’s tip heavy and in need of an upgrade, as for St. Croix a mhm sounds good but I’m concerned that it won’t ballance out with a chronarch mgl as I’ve had this problem before with some St. Croix Rods and the legend is to expensive, glass well I have a mojo bass target cranker and I like the give that a glass rod gives but I hate not being able to feel every little thing I bang up on. The rod I been looking at is the zodias 6’10 mf but even that rod I’m not comfortable with a 15 inch handle and it’s not cranking specific it’s a delema I’m picky and won’t spend more than 200 on a rod. I hear custom rods start at 200 so I’ve never spent more than 200$ on a rod and I don’t ever want to. Denali makes the kovert lt a 6’10 crankbait rod mf for like 150 bucks but I don’t hear much about Denali kind of on the fence about them.
  6. Can’t find the rod I want! I’m picky these are the specs I’m looking for 6’9 or 6’10 graphite medium, moderate fast, handle 14 inches. Preferably very preferably a crankbait specific rod. 200$ budget? Any suggestions guys? Thanks.
  7. I was very surprised to learn that some higher end rods are made in China specifically shimano. I just pulled the trigger on one online and im disappointed I didn't do my homework before hand. What are your thoughts on rods that are so called high end and made in China?
  8. G loomis E6X vs Shimanos Zodias for plastics? Anyone fish theses rods which would you choose mainly for plastics wacky and light baits?
  9. Just as the title mentions what is your must have brand and style of a wacky hook , I personally mainly fish them on a 2/0 circle hook weightless but have been thinking about starting to use wacky jig heads hooks to get them down quick and maybe give them a better presentation?
  10. It's a must watch great movie really enjoyed it. Seen on net flix anyone seen it?
  11. You can put a 2500 or a light 3000 shimanos 3000 are the same size as a 2500 except for the spools not all shimanos but from the Sedona and up they do this.
  12. More like scatter crap!
  13. I've always liked booyah jigs and have said before they make the best budget spinnerbait. The jigs are really nice but far from custom like seiburt. I have always been a fan of booyah. You can always count on a pond magic in a small pond to catch some fish.
  14. It's lews what do you expect?
  15. If I personally was picking between the two rods I would go with the Ike delay series of rods. @fishnkamp owns one of these rods you might want to ask him I'm not sure which one but I know it's an Ike abu delay series.
  16. I was also looking at the dobyns fury rods but they don't have any rods under 7 foot and I'm looking for a top water jerk bait rod also I like using 6'6 ,6'8 ,6'9 ,rods.
  17. What's your budget? im using the mojo bass scIII spinner bait series. Paid 110 bucks on Black Friday sale.
  18. I use 7 medium heavy moderate fast for my spinnerbait rod I like the extra give in the rod I have had no issues with hook sets I used to use a medium heavy fast but found that it was to stiff for slinging single hook baits such as chatter baits and spinnerbaits I prefer the action of a mhmf.
  19. Well it's a nice bait decent hooks nice paint job i threw it around and threw my pool and it runs good nice action. I won't be paying 12$ bucks again for it if it was at that 7.99 mark I would probably get another. The bait is a great bait but not worth the 11.99 in my opinion. Now on the other hand if this bait is extremely productive I will probably pay 11.99 again.
  20. @Scott F I'm just curious when you mention jerk baits they work well even in hotter temperatures in clear water ? I ask because I fish some clear water in California from time to time and I have thought about it but I've never thrown it in the summer.
  21. poppers spinnerbaits ball head jigs with a grub, even natural color squarebills can work, brown, green, black, blue, soft plastics.
  22. I collect a lot of squarebills so if it isn't a producer I will just add it to my collection something to look at. If I do like the action I'll buy another and display it. I have so many kvds, rc3s, normans, bombers As, mans baby 1s, that I'm now trying to focus on higher end more quality baits with detail like the jakal askas the lucky crafts, 6 sense, megabass I just like squarebills.
  23. Welcome brotha!
