  1. I use a 7 medium spinning zodias and it’s one of the best if not the best rod I own don’t pass up a good deal specialy not on this rod. I think you’ll be perfectly fine with the medium for what you want to do. I wouldn’t throw anything heavier than 1/2 ounce although I’m sure the rod has no problem doing it. I personally use it for finesse presentations I don’t think I use it for anything heavier than 1/4 ounce but that’s because I prefer to use a baitcaster for those applications.
  2. Using a spinning setup for swim jigs is perfectly ok. I used to swim football jigs with and uglystick and a Diawa sweepfire and had no problem doing it. And I probably used to catch more back then swimming a jig then I do now.
  3. There are plenty of decent combos you can buy at dicks for 80$ you should have no problem finding one. 80 bucks is a decent budget for a nice combo check out the Abu Garcia pro max combo for $69.99.
  4. Search it with a Shad rap , keep us posted.
  5. Going to have to wait probably won’t be buying another rod till tax returns maybe? I think I’ve reached my limit for this year. Definitely reached my limit!
  6. Oh yeah definitely not for squarebills now that I have it in hand I realize that, but I love the rod and plan on getting another for now I will continue to use my mojo spinnerbait rod to rip squarebills out of grass and cover. This rod definitely has its place in my arsenal for those 1/4 ounce cranckbaits and 3/8 ounce cranks I love it. But I will continue on my search for that perfect squarebill rod.
  7. A weightless rage tail menace works really good this time of year cast it as far as you can let it sink and pop your rod up and let it sink again work it back to you as fast as you can you’ll have to wait for it to sink also a fluke jerk jerk pause, a squarebill or a crankbait shadraps are good during this time chatterbaits work well also.
  8. Dobyns fury 7 foot mhmf cranking or veritas in 7 mm
  9. Dobyns fury 7 foot mhmf cranking.
  10. Agree Central California and higher up the state bass fishing gets a lot better. Southern California is definitely tuff with castaic and lake Perris being the best places to fish.
  11. Very sad.
  12. The rod is well ballance and extremely lite has a nice touch with the wood at the end of the blank not the tip . I don’t like the guides. I think the price point is to high. Not for me. But a nice rod.
  13. Curado k I think would do the job in 621 or Calcutta in 581 good reels!
  14. IMA helips in blue gill color don’t know the exact name of the color but it looks perch of blue gill I only use them in the spring personally.
  15. I have two dogs and one fell in my pool and almost drowned when she was three or four months old she never forgot, she is completely horrified to be near any body of water. She’s three years old now.
  16. I’ve been throwing flukes lately here in California in farm ponds been on a fluke roll actually every where.
  17. And another one bites the dust!
  18. You can put anything on a black and blue jig as long as it’s not white but I guess even that would work .
  19. Doesn’t seem like anyone’s impressed here, did I make a bad choice? The reason I didn’t go with zodias was because of the 15 inch butt I also already have one in the spinning model. I didn’t get the hammer rods because of the butt was 14 1/2 also I didn’t like that when I called I had to leave a message and that made me wonder about there service, actually got the Denali kovert 610 crankbait model but I’m sending it back today, paying an extra 20 bucks for the e6x? Koverts ok but the guides seem to have a bad rap and for an extra 20 I can avoid that problem. I’ll post picks later.... ??????
  20. Excalibur made very nice quality lures at affordable prices. Reminds me of six sense they are similar in price and make good looking lures, but there not Excaliburs I’ll tell you that, and I don’t believe six sense make any knockers but I still collect Excaliburs when I can find them.
  21. I usually will hop some farm ponds, that always gets the skunk out.
  22. 1/8 ounce spinnerbait is way light I’ve never gone that light on a spinnerbait 3/16 is the lightest. I would go 3/16 or 1/4 you don’t want to go to big you might spook the fish I mainly throw 3/8 but I’ll throw the 3/16 booyah pond magic in smaller lakes ponds.
  23. From my understanding was that the guide inserts problem was fixed with the LT series?
  24. Well I just couldn’t get myself to pay more than 200 bucks for a rod I ended up getting a gloomis e6x crankbait rod in 7’ medium moderate fast. I wanted 6’10 but oh well. The 13 3/4 inch butt is good. Ive heard it will ballance out nicely with a chronarch. One day I am going custom make my own rod with my own specs that’s the way to go.
  25. I think explaining all the equipment can be done wile you fish. Also don’t care for music in my fishing videos that’s kinda early 2000s. Harsh huh sorry bout that. I think having your wife in the video gives it a nice touch, you covered everything seems like I think the mention of the brand of lure could have been mentioned earlier at the beginning of the video, just my feed back I don’t make videos myself so what the heck do I know? Your the man glen!
