Wouldn’t using a micro swivel have the potential of damaging your guide as they pass threw them? If you use a shorter leader with a micro swivel to avoid going threw the guides wouldn’t that kind of force you to have to make a lob cast every time you cast? I never used micro swivels to tie a leader? I know hank Parker does I seen the video on the bass resource channel.
I don’t see a need for a micro swivel unless you hate tying an Alberto knot or Albrite knot or a blood knot or whatever the heck type of knot.
I personally can’t recommend extra fast because I don’t have an extra fast I don’t have experience with it? But I can tell you that the medium fast jerk bait rod has got a great tip for treble hook top waters, poppers and such, and can even be applicated for your 1.5 type square bills.
Not a fan of the e6x I just recently sold mine however they just recently updated these rods so they might be a good option. I have the mojo 68 jerk bait rod and it works really well for top water treble baits.
If you release tension on the reel knob it should clamp on easy if your tension knob it tight the breaks kinda get in the way of getting the side plate snapped on correctly sometimes, if you’ve been forcing it down you potentially could have coused some type of damage.
Im not so sure about that anymore, there were some actual personal experiences some have had and have had some serious posts but now I doubt they will post them because of the constant jokes. I should have known better before I started the thread.
I use straight Floro now but I used to use 15 braid to 8 -10 pound leader I used the Alberto knot it was the only knot I knew how to tie my leader was long it was from just right above my reel right back down to the reel so like a 12 foot leader I liked a long leader to be able to cut line off if necessary it last longer. I never had a problem getting the knot threw the guides it flowed rite threw.
Get it you won’t regret it! And ci4 doesn’t feel like your cheaper graphite it’s much more dense way stronger almost feels like aluminum almost. At 280 your getting your moneys worth although you might be able to get 40 bucks off if you shop around eBay. I just go threw TW I had a bad experience with one of my chronarcs on eBay I got my money refunded but didn’t like the hassle I haven’t completely written off eBay I still shop around for the lower end reels in the 100-150 dollar price point.
I also have to add I’ve never had any of my cheap abugarcia graphite reels flex on Me or fail on me wile bass fishing.
Very sad I was a big fan of his original show on the travel channel No reservations. I don’t watch cnn so I never got to see his new stuff but he was a great writer I seen all the old episodes of no reservations all of them.
