I know you guys have your problems as well with the toxic algae situation and Lake Okeechobee run off that the media seems to be having a field day with. California isn’t as bad as the media portrays it the news has a way of overdramatizing things. Seems like bad news is good news to television audiences now a days. It is hot and dry I give you the water situation seems to be ok for now but only time will tell next year if there is very little snow pack like this year then we’ll we need to start worrying again.
The only thing I can think of is return it the Curado K is not supposed to do that. If you have experience with countless baitcasters like you said than you know that sub $200 reel should not do that. Go get your money back or exchange it. That’s my best advice brother.
If you’re new to baitcasters I wouldn’t go braid just yet keep trying cheap mono for a wile till you get the hang of it 12 pound big game cast great and is cheap so you can cut those bird nest off and respool if need be.
Strike king or Berkley both companies would cover hard baits and soft plastics. Hard to pick one between the two. Strike king definitely makes better hard baits but Berkley has been doing me some good lately with their max scent plastics. ?????
You can use a medium heavy for frogs as long as you’re not fishing thick matted vegetation I’ve done it before but i don’t think you can find a mh rod that you can fish frogs and crankbaits you can probably find a good mhf rod for jigs worms and frogs but probably not for cranking.
I used to work as a machine operator for a very big Company that produces products that are in many households across the nation although not a fishing company our main objective was to produce! Sometimes we got pushed we got fatigued there were machine brake downs their were problems with palletizer machines the QC workers were exhausted things definitely get overlooked. Imagine now in Malaysia where there hours are longer their breaks are less monitored, if at all imagine how much product their pumping out every shift ? I could see how factory defects can easily occur and Really this gos for all the major companies that are being pushed to produce as much product as humanly possible.
Again I wouldn’t call it catastrophic I would call it the norm hopefully things get sorted out.
Really “catastrophic” well any defective reels could be easily tracked by the shift and date they were produced most likely it was just one shift of poor quality control, unfortunately I’m sure a whole shift of product could easily be 20 pallets with each box holding anywhere from 6 to 8 reels. This is just my assumption but I wouldn’t call this a catastrophe little over the top of you ask me. I doubt this will be an issue.
Cx premium is great for cranking, jerkbaits and it works well for poprs. Bottom baits like Texas Riggs big TRD or weightless flukes try pline tactical. Cx and tactical are the only lines I use.
I’ll probably be trying the #14 for my spinning reel, I went all floro this year but I’m going back to braid to leader I need that extra sensitivity... I also need some new braid to try out , still really haven’t found my brand of braid that I stick with.
