  1. Nah the brake shoes are very durable probably be years before you have to replace them and they are very cheap and easy to replace. This is really just starting to seem like a big diawa shimano debate and I’m personally sick of theses debates I’m out!!!!!
  2. I think maybe you should be looking for something mhmf maybe in the 6’9 6’10 since your on the bank it will help you to get under tight spots but a 7 foot will be fine also. I think you should find a good casting rod invest in a sensitive rod maybe in the 100 range Also a good Bait casting reel also in that 100 range. You should be able to cover all your basis. What is your budget?
  3. 3 or 4 is fine you can lower them to 2 when your more comfortable but when it’s windy 4 is optimal for 1/4 to 3/8 ounce backlash free
  4. centrifugal brakes are better! Magnetic brakes are better!! Its prefrance try both see what works best for you and use that. Use both if you want. I started fishing with the pinnacle enertia loved that reel fished lews they were ok fished shimano and I found what I liked it could be the opposite for anyone got to try em to see what you like better for what your gonna be doing.
  5. I really don’t see that much of a difference in durability to be honest I went threw half a pack I an hour of fishing yesterday.
  6. I was thinking the same thing ?.
  7. After ordering the curado dc I want to stay in just under that 180/ 170 mark the next time I feed the bait monkey I did see them for a lot of conflicting prices on eBay but I’m not into it I don’t like the look of the reel and I don’t like the knobs also it’s meant for jigging in salt I’m sure it cast well but not my cup of tea.
  8. Yeah this is going to be one of those deals where you just got to wait and see, I don’t want to buy a curado70 if I have a better option just yet. The only issue is I’ve only fished mainly shimano for the last several years so I don’t know if I’ll be happy with the change? But I want to try and see what diawa has to offfer and I’ll probably start with this reel unless shimano makes some changes to the 70 like adding micro module gears maybe or something, I see myself trying this reel out for what I consider finessey lighter lures see what happens?
  9. I haven’t really heard much except for what I see on YouTube and they don’t tell you much. I been looking around for a finesse reel not super fineness but curado70 fineness. Which is what I’m thinking about getting, still not sure, I actually use a shimano casitas for a lot of some what fineness presentations like the big TRD and weightless rage menace’s and weightless flukes, it cast really nicely for these presentations. The problem is the frame, lack of sensitivity in the hand and it’s not the smoothest on the retrieve which is why the tatula 100 has me Intrigued. What are your thoughts on the new tatula 100 and your expectations what will you use this reel for.

  11. Welcome to the forums.
  12. Nice rod very sensitive very strong perfect for jigs, I like duckett rods they have been smeared on YouTube and I blame that partly on gene genson because he has talked a bunch of crap after they had some sort of disagreement. Anyway nice buy and a good deal. ??
  13. Max scent is killer! Great info Glen thank you.
  14. Are you knew to baitcasters becouse that’s not normal bro the curado k is one of the top selling reels on the market. It’s not one of the best for nothing.
  15. You could sell it and get a shimano fix your problem reel quick ?
  16. I don’t think it’s a very stiff rod personally I had one when they first came out with the second generation maybe three years ago and was using it for an all around bank fishing rod including squarebills. The previous model vengeance was a stiffer rod I also had that one.
  17. I don’t fish a lot of small mouth but I do fish for spots and I hear they act very similar probably not exactly the same at all, but some what similar best poprs would be for me, duo realis popr 64 and the yozuri 3DR both are great also just a regular rebel popr is also a great choice and easy on your wallet.
  18. I know the thread is about dingers and shimmees and I’ll adresse that to conclude the matter very frankly, dingers are better..!!! Now to what I wanted to give an honorable mention to is the just started using Berkly power bait max scent, general that stick bait is the best hands down stick bait for me!!!! now it produces when nothing produces. And if you haven’t tried it don’t more fish for me.?
  19. Shimano Zodias Shimano 16 stradic ci4
  20. It probably doesn’t effect the performance of the reel but it would bother my ocd big time!!! I would fix it or sell it or return it.
  21. Agree it’s their marketing. They can’t expect kvd to do all the selling or Gerald swindle for that matter, they need a different approach.
  22. The fluke is one of those baits I find myself throwing almost every time I’m out fishing it’s one of my confident lures. I throw it with a 4/0 light wire EWG. A good approach would be to cast it out let it sink and jerk jerk pause count to ten jerk jerk pause and repeat. You can play with different retrieves soft plastic jerk baits are extremely productive and for me fun to fish.
  23. You wanna buy the guy a boat ? Not everyone has or a place to store a boat.
  24. Running a spinner bait threw the trees, over it and on the sides of it can trigger a bite and if you do it right you won’t get snagged. Or just go with a pegged weedless trig as mentioned above...
