  1. You have it flipped that was my intentions the sv for flipping and pitching and sometimes skipping and the dc for moving baits
  2. I was looking to get a chronarch mgl but I'm hearing that it's not salt water friendly which I fish the ca delta and that's brackish water. So I'm looking for a good finesse lure baitcaster that could pitch lighter lures like the chronarch mgl. I heard the curado 70 is good for this but has more bad reviews about not lasting long. So anybody have any recommendations I'll be glad to hear
  3. Okay I just purchased 2 new rods one for moving baits and the other for pitching/light flipping duties 1/4-3/8 oz now I need 2 new reels. I've been reading and seen that the tatula sv tw is great pitching/skipping reel for light to heavy size baits due to its significant control system, and seen the new shimano curado dc lob baits out there with perfect Control and a local tackle shop by me has a extra curado dc on him early which I have option to buy. Please let me know if I'm on the right track of if there's any other recommendations
  4. That's what I exactly said
  5. I would deffinlty recommend you a kistler rod I own a kistler helium which is my jig and worm rod and the sensitivity is phenomenal. Id deffinlty look into kistler rods
  6. Sorta can't contact minn kota because they will refuse to tell you because they want you to buy a new one alot of people did what I'm trying to do but no one states the year of there v1. I did read up that it works for 2001-2007 models only I guess I'd have to just risk it and buy the board
  7. Bladed jigs and moving style baits would be the use of this rod like 4inch paddel tail swimbaits and spinnerbaits and etc.. Great to know. Because I was reading the description of the expride 7'mh glass and it said it's meant for moving style baits through cover and grass. And makes a excellent chatterbait rod. So if the zodias has the same power and action I would rather save the extra 100 since moving baits don't really need that expensive of a rod.
  8. I'm looking to buy a rod for chatterbaits and I'm hearing good things from the shimano zodias 7'2 mh glass and the shimano expride 7'2 mh glass my question is, is there any difference in the power and action of these rods they both have the same lure rating and same specs but I've heard more good things from the expride but if the zodias has the same feel and action I much rather buy a 190 dollar rod compared to a 300 dollar rod. Due to the fact a chatter bait or any type of moving bait does not need a significant amount of sensitivity
  9. I've been reading online i could get Ipilot on my power drive v1 by switching the control board to v2 but the control board says compatible with powerdrives 2007-present mine is a 2005 will it work any body ever have experience
  10. Im in the market for a rod to cover chatter baits and spinnerbaits and 3-5 inch paddel tail swimbaits i fish the California delta which is perfect for these baits to fish them through cover and grass. Which means I would like to run braid. and I need a new rod In the arsenal to cover these baits best. So just need some advice on rod power and action and if you know any rods that cover these best please let me know. I've been recommended the megabass orochi Diablo spec r. But its deffinlty out of my price range.I do know they make the same model in the Levant series but never seen any reviews
  11. So im looking to buy a dobyns champion series 765 flip rod from a local guy reselling it it's 7'6 med/hvy fast action rod which is rated for 1/4-1 1/2 oz baits but when I look all over online it says rated 1/4-2 oz baits but on the actual rod it says it's 1 1/2 oz what is with that
  12. For my all around rod what Is the best line that is the most versatile I'll be throwing all sorts of baits on this rod some top water. T rigs jigs some paddle tails spinnerbaits and etc it's my all around rod set up in my arsenal so I would like a like that could do good on all those baits listed
  13. I found one locally on offer up just scratched up a little but in perfect working condition
  14. After contacting dobyns I finally made the decision for the fury 806 now Which reel for 2-5 oz baits I could get a tatula 200 HD for 110$ or a lews bb2 for 60$ which reel is better for this application
  15. So what rod do you recommend for 2-5 oz baits mostly being treble hook
  16. All said and done im looking for a rod that can throw 2-5 oz treble hook swimbaits I'm more then sure whatever rod that handles that I could also fish a 6 inch hud if I'm bed fishing
  17. Also something to add i was searching through tackle warehouse and came across the daiwa dx swimbait rod has some. Great reviews thought I add that and see what you all think about that rod
  18. Your right the baits Im going to mainly throw is 2 through 4 1/2 oz most of the 8 inch glides are 4 oz or just a little over 4 none of the baits I'll be throwing daily weighs over 5 oz so I think I will end up with the 795
  19. Are you talking about the dobyns fury or champion I'm speaking about the fury
  20. Well the trash fish 8 inch only weighs 2 oz so basically a 68 hud will probably be the only jig hook bait I throw. And also you think the 795 can handle up to 6 oz that being the heaviest glide I throw
  21. The setup will mainly be towards treble hook baits like Glide and double jointed baits but I would like it to handle a HUD 68 special or 8 inch trash fish those being the only jig hook swimbaits I'll be throwing if I'm trying to throw it on a bed or something like that
  22. Okay I want a swimbait rod that could fish swimbaits up to 8" And weighing 2-5 oz all being treble hook baits besides the 6" hud i have which will probably be the only jig style bait I'll throw on my set up. Which of these and there models will cover that best, dobyns fury 795-806 daiwa dx 8ft heavy or 8ft XHeavy. Okuma guide select heavy-xheavy
  23. Well like I said the 8 inch baits having the least use. I'm mainly focused on throwing the treble hook baits I mentioned above and 6 inch hudd, The 8 inch will be thrown very rarly but I would like a rod that could sorta handle it if I ever want to pick it up and toss it every so often so my main question was out of the irod. fury. or okuma. what will fit my needs the best out of those 3 rods in my price range. Main baits being treble hook and more smaller jig hooks like 6 inch hudds and ospreys. The 8 inch will probably hardly see sun light
  24. So the action is good on the fury 795 for treble hooks
  25. Well after reading more forums I'm not sure on which rod for swimbaits. I'm looking for a rod that can handle tossing jackall gantias and gantarels. s wavers and Megabass i slides. Bbz1 6inch and 8 inch. And 6-8 inch hudds. the 8 inch baits being thrown not so often but id i like a rod that could handle them. As you can tell my main baits I'll be throwing will be treble hooks and will range from 1 - 4.5 oz baits. but i would like to toss some 6 inch hudds and maybe some 8 inch hudds when I take trips to clear lake. And here's the rods I heard good things about okuma guide select A serious. Dobyns fury 795sb. And irod genesis 2. Which brand and model will fit for what I want the most. My price range is anything up to 150
