Hi all,
New Member today ( retired Dec 2016 ) , in process of moving to McBee South Carolina from Ct. Have been very active fly guy for past 5 years all river fishing 50% trout in Ct -- 50% Steelhead in NY - Lake Ontario Trib ( Salmon river ), all catch and release. . I started salt water fishing also in May 2017 for striped bass and after a new salt spin outfit and several fun trips, decided to dust off my old spin gear some from High school in 60"s and some gear from shad fishing days in 1990 ish. A few new spin rods later I have two mid weight 6.5/ rods, with 10# braid Vs. mono on a few old reels that still work OK and my salt outfit : 8' Tsumani Airwave and Diawia 3000 saltalist reel / w 30 # braid.
Now I want to learn about some local SC bass ponds in and around mcBee, went to sandhills preserve off Rt 145 yesterday for several hours and got a few small bass in the Yak.
We also have a campground we are a member of ( near Myrtle beach on Intercoastal waterway). so I want to learn about fishing the intercoastal hopefully for Bass, and Murrelles inlet for some salt action all in the Yak.
Lastly : just I just got a Hobie Kayak -- 12' Outback set up for fishing, with Lorance in just learning to use .
Any advise I'm all ear's ...........
Steve
