  1. If you were 49 when you learned ..it would mean you had all those years of extensive fishing time ?
  2. Quality lower bearing reel > cheaper high bearing count reel
  3. If I'm ready to cast im already in the spot I want with the lure I want tied on......only thing left is where to cast....
  4. Thanks for the responses....I'm gonna grab some.
  5. castadventures.ca. Paul Castellano....Awesome guide on Erie ...check him out...real nice guy too..good thing about Paul is he guides near the Niagara so if Erie's blown up you can always fish the upper Niagara.
  6. I fish in a lake that contains mostly 2 to 2.5lb large mouth with some fish up to 4 lbs plus. It is fairly pressured so I was thinking of throwing something different at them. Will I catch the smaller 2lb bass on a 10" worm too or is it too big? Should I just stick to the 7" ones?
  7. Ok thanks.....so basically a combo of the baits for clear or dirty water depending on what the bass want that day...
  8. I'd say 4.5lb...nice fish
  9. I know black, black/blue and junebug are good colors for dirty water and green pumpkin or watermelon for clear. The lake I fish is not muddy ot tea stained by any means but isn't clear either. Is clearish but still only maybe 2 or 3 feet visibility due to algae and sediment in water. What would be the best colors I should try? More towards the green pumpkin or the blacks?
  10. I agree ....mojo bass are nice rods and what better rod for wacky senkos then a rod made specific for that application...and the fact it's extra fast will allow nice hooksets
  11. Since I can't get a actual rod made for drop shot with my budget would a standard M fast rod be too stiff of a tip?
  12. Thanks for the replies......up to 150 Canadian ......so even if not casting just dropping straight down the rods rating comes into play? If I'm using 1/2 to 3/4 to stay down while drifting in 30'of water a M would be better than a ML?
  13. I want to buy a dedicated drop shot rod. I've been doing a lot of research and know that usually a ML is recommended. What confused me is some people I've talked to say that if I'm using it for deep dropshotting with heavier weights I should get a M. I want to use the rod on lake Erie mainly dropshotting from 25 to 35 feet with 1/2 to 5/8 oz weight for big smallies. What would you guys recommend? I'm looking at the new 6'9 ML hmg.
  14. Cool idea but why not put all your lures ect especially ones you using in tackle boxes and stack them up?
  15. I was using a 2/0 mustad kvd double wide dropshot hook snelled to a 3ft 8lb fluorocarbon leader tied to 10lb braid...no swivel
  16. I've been using some bps stik-os and noticed when I slowly bring them in after the initial fall ...they slowly spin. I've tried moving the hook all along the bait but can't get it to stay horizontal. Any ideas?
