  1. I was hurt at work in May that ultimately caused a stroke and I have very limited use out of my left hand still. I can grip but have zero fine motor skills. I swapped the handle to the left side on a spinning reel to try and couldn't do it.
  2. If I could reel with my left hand I would have ordered a few myself.
  3. Getting skunked doesn't bother me one bit these days.Im just glad for any opportunity to fish and be in the great outdoors, plus I suck at fishing so I get skunked often.?
  4. I keep mine on the left side. I cast with my right hand and use RH bait caster.I haven't had any issues with it getting in the way.
  5. Seeing this thread reminded me that my Mother-in-law bought me one a few years back and Ive yet to use it. It would have been nice last week as it was a bit chilly on the lake.
  6. Wow! Monkey got you real good!
  7. When its mandatory to take hunters education at school and having to shoot skeet with a 12ga on football field. I passed in 92! lol
  8. I like hockey, snowboarding and biathlon. Go Team USA!
  9. If you are left handed a seller named triacetackle2016 currently has Daiwa CA80 on ebay for $64.95 shipped. These have aluminum frames and retail for $99.99, they have two different ratios in-stock. I personally don't have one of these reels but have ordered Halo rods from the seller issue free.
  10. I would say around 40 but I stopped fishing completely for 15 yrs after my grandpa passed, so about 25 total. I have only fished in one bass tournament as a co-angler but Im hoping to enter some kayak tourneys this year.
  11. I rarely eat fish, having said that I wouldn't keep a spawning fish.I have no issues with anyone who would keep them as long as they do it legally. I release everything I catch as fast as possible.
  12. FFO tackle has the older version on sale for $58.88 in 6' and 6'6" M.
  13. Ive got a Blackpak, however, I generally don't take it as it weighs around 40lbs with what I have in it. Its nice but I don't think its worth the $130 price tag.,I think DIY is the way to go.
  14. Couldn't find one when they first came out and ended up with a Glock 43 instead. Its still on my list.
  15. Is it typical to get this type of weather in SC? The wife and I are thinking about selling our house in TN and moving somewhere warmer and was looking at SC.
  16. My last few pairs of glasses I bought online, the process was easy and it saved me $100s and that was without using insurance. My latest pair is progressive lenses but they aren't polarized and are just transitions xtractive. I do have a pair of Wiley-x and Amphibia(they float!), that are pretty nice. I like framesdirect and sportrx for online stores. The best pair of regular glasses I have ever bought was Oakley Airdrop which also had the transitions xtractive.
  17. To me any kind of speed on a boat feels way different than in a vehicle, its terrifying. I just watched a video the other day on YT of the speed boat Kong doing 180mph, insane! I think Ill stick to the 3 mph on my pedal kayak.
  18. Im not committed to one brand, I currently have 5 different brands. The main thing is they all work.
  19. I grew up fishing with my grandpa and when he passed away it bothered me so bad I stopped fishing for close to 15 years.I started fishing again around 10 years ago but due to OT at work and family commitments I didn't have too much free time to go. Ironically at the end of May I was almost killed at that job that kept me from fishing as much as I wanted to. The injury caused me to have a stroke and as of now my left hand still doesn't work much except to grip things. I do all of my fishing from a kayak and I was able to fish a few times after the injury, I just had to change and adapt as I went but it somewhat worked. To answer the OPs question, not now. Im grateful to be alive and cherish every second that I will get to fish and will never take it for granted.
  20. That sucks, can't stand a thief. Hopefully they get caught.
  21. I thought mine was complete but I have bought 5 rods since X-mas, monkey stays on my back!
  22. Chatterbait, but Im going to throw them more this year.
  23. Thanks for that, I have already ordered a 6' HMG but will pick one of the BPS rods when they go on sale. Now I have to figure out what reel to get!
  24. IMHO regardless of what brand of paddle you get I would make sure you get the correct length depending on your height as well as your kayaks width. In a worst case scenario that your pedal drive breaks and you are a good way out and need to paddle back you want the correct size. https://kayakaddicts.com/kayak-paddle-length/
  25. I just placed an order 12/28 using PayPal with zero issues.
