Im 45 and have played video games since the Vic-20 on cassettes, I enjoyed Fishing Sim on PS4 and most CODs. Sadly since my head injury and stroke last year and the limited use of my left hand I can no longer play.
I have a Native Slayer Propel 10 and its well over 100 lbs the way its rigged. I do have the side kick landing gear in order to move it though. The Propel drive is rock solid and was the first prop style to come out. The biggest down fall to it is the steering system, which I have completely changed and upgraded.
@Darth-Baiter The trailer originally had an industrial job site generator on it, its 8' long. The guy I bought it from was going to build a smoker on it but decided to sell it.I got it for $75 and re-done it.I did paint, wheels/tires,bearings/seals, lights and Malone Megawings. I have since bought a truck and dont really use it.
I use Meguiar's Ultimate Wash and Wax on my kayak when I wash it. I do wipe it down with 303 every once in awhile as well but Im sure the wash is good enough. Its also kept on a trailer in the garage.
I dont like to pay anyone so Im always willing to try and fix things myself including plumbing, electric,HVAC,flooring, automotive etc . Im very mechanically inclined and an automotive mechanic by trade. I should say was, my accident last year will probably keep me from doing major things.
@TnRiver46 I never seen or even thought that anyone would try to catch gar on a fly rod. I bet thats one heck of a fight! By the video it looks like you just let them go until they tire out enough to wrangle them on in.
The area I usually kayak fish at has some spots so shallow that I have to lift my pedal drive up to keep from hitting, it needs around 18" of water. I like the area because the shallow water mainly keeps boats away.
I was out there a few weeks back and a bass boat came past me at every bit of 60 mph. I just shook my head and kept on fishing working my way back toward my truck for the next hour or so. As I came around a bend I saw the boat was off in the distance by a bridge.
As I was fishing a rocky ledge and fallen tree about 100 yards from him he started trolling in my direction and literally got to within 5' of me. I kept my cool even though I didnt want to, he simply said "Hey Bud" and went on. I continued working the ledge and got to the bridge and the same area he had just left and caught two within 15 minutes.
I could have let him get me upset and started something but it would have messed us both up and I more than likely wouldn't have caught the two fish! It made my day catching what he had missed though.
@TnRiver46 Have you thought of doing the free Tackle Direct tournament on the free Fishing Chaos app? $15k in prizes, they have categories for LMB, SMB striped bass over 28" and striped bass 16"-28".https://www.tackledirect.com/national-fishing-tournament-2022.html
Took the kayak out for a few hours this morning.I ended up catching my biggest bass so far this year(sad I know) on a 5" wacky rigged Morning Dawn Yum Dinger. I then made a rookie mistake of not checking the worm closely before casting again and missed another fish on the next cast. As soon as I went to set the hook the worm popped right off.
