  1. yes but the noise started with normal fishing motions and is still present...
  2. I think since I am hypochondriac about reels. I do not seem to recall this noise before. I sent it to Lews, told them the problem and they cleaned it and sent it back, same noise... Is this seem normal to you? When resistance is placed on the spool it makes almost like a zinging sound and you can feel it in the gear box... video is below do not know how well you can get an idea...Thank you.
  3. caught my biggest dupage forrest preserve bass a week ago on a black frog. dont think i have ever had a bass smash a frog that hard. just measured it with my rod and it was 19 maybe a little more. then went to busse on saturday, first time on the kayak this year. was catching fish pitching jig to shoreline cover. no big ones though...
  4. 832. i do not trust power pro after i saw a friend snap 30lb on a back lash... granted this guy has not idea what he is doing but 30lb power pro should not snap like that in my opinion...
  5. not impossible. but in my opinion unlikely. i am going to take some braid and run it all around all the guides, and if nothing i dont know what else to try...
  6. well i will just see if it happens again thanks all. just weird that the line broke in same place both times. thought for sure it would be a guide issue but i cant find anything wrong with them. will check them again though.. just sucks because now my confidence in the rod is severely hurt and i like the rod a lot... the break happened so far back in the spool is the weird part... hard to think picking out a previous backlash would cause this twice especially with the p line...
  7. ya my drag is locked down all the way as this is my frog rod. i caught some fish today and it was better but still digs in at the point of setting the hook... nothing else to do...i will live with it for now. i will try another line next time...
  8. for the forseable future i am also not using flouro. when i saw the flouro just float on top of the water i was surprised as i thought it was suppose to sink... also suffix seige just handles so much better i love that line.
  9. So this has happened twice to me. only thing that was the same was the rod which is a kistler klx 6'9 mh f. one day I cast 1/2oz spinner bait with a team lews custom pro and 15lb invizx and the line broke seemingly near the reel or inside the reel. I figuered i had a nick in the line. i had to send that reel in for some warranty work so i put on my shimano curado i. this time i was throwing a 3/8oz chatterbait on 15lb p line flouroclear. the line broke mid cast seemed like near the reel like last time. both the lines on these reels were spooled on not a month ago. so i figured it has to be the rod since that is the only thing that was the same both times this happened. so i checked the rod with a cue tip and cant seem to find any noticeable rough spots in the guides... but i do not know what else it could be? it is just odd that both times the line broke around the same spot both times. any idea of what it could be? any other things i should check or another way to check the guides? there was not backlash that stopped the line either. the line broke and just sailed through the guides with probably like 20ft of line laying on top of the water and me scratching my head...i was able to retrieve both the line and lures though...
  10. its just weird because this happened on my curado i and now the lews. i took out the line to the backing and reeled it back in super tight will see if it helps but do not think it will. thanks all.
  11. im using suffix 832 and the reel is a lews team custom pro and much more backing and i would be too close to reaching it during a cast and i have watched your video glenn. this was same last year too i thought maybe it was the line or reel but both are different this year and still same problem...
  12. I have 50 pound braid and every time I catch a fish the line digs in and I gotta do a little cast and pull out the line until it is free. Is this standard or something I can do about it?
  13. went to forrest preserve pond yesterday and today. one on a walking bait and 3 or 4 on frog yesterday. today 2 on a chatterbait. different ponds. nothing of size.
  14. how is lake springfield? thinking of giving it a go this year.
  15. glad to hear they are ok. the boat is at the bottom of the lake or did they save it?
