  1. What’s the general consensus on the IMX Pro’s? Are they very sensitive for their price range? Balanced well? Good ergonomics? Worth the price? I’ve been using donyns champion series and just haven’t been impressed with their sensitivity in the champion series. I’ve been kicking around the idea of using their trade in program and upgrading to the extreme series to try them out. However, If the IMX’s are a better rod with better sensitivity for about the same price, I don’t want to waste my money upgrading to the extremes.
  2. How does the IMX Compare to the Orchi in terms of sensitivity and fit and finish?
  3. I’m going to be getting a new jig/Texas rig rod and looking for recommendations. I bought a champion do 744 jig rod last year. I like it OK, but I feel like it’s really lacking in sensitivity for its price. I’ve narrowed it down to a few models. Kistler H3 7’3” MH or H Loomis IMX 853C JWR MB Orchi XX Perfect Pitch The other option would be doing the trade in program with Dobyns and move into an extreme HP. However I’d rather not waste my $ if I’m going to get more sensitivity out of one of the three above. I’m open to other options options if there’s anything out there better than the ones I listed. I won’t be doing any heavy cover work. Mainly throwing 3/8oz - 1/2oz jigs, and 1/4oz - 1/2 oz trigs. I also want to keep the price around $300. Thanks
  4. Follow TBNation on Facebook. There are tons of people sharing knowledge there. From simple plywood decks to jetboat conversions. One of the main guys that started the group is Michael Lopez. He has a YouTube channel that has a ton of good informative videos as well. Good luck!
  5. I do like the OG tats. Do you have expirence using the elites for a comparison between the 2? The blanks seem to be the same. On paper at least
  6. So, I'm trying to decide on a couple of new rods. I'm torn between the Dobyn's champ xp and the Tatula Elites. To be more specific, I'm looking at the 736 glass rod for chatterbaits, swim jigs, and possibly DD cranks. I am also looking to the 734C/735C for worms/jigs/trigs. In the elites I'm looking at the Ehrler line 7'3" glass and the 7'3" MHF. Does anyone have experience fishing with both of these rod and outside the warranty/customer service, are the xp's worth the extra $? Specifically the sensitivity of the 734c/735c vs the Ehrler model. Thanks
  7. I hope this isn't too off topic, but does anyone have any expirence with daiwa's replacement/CS for their rods? I have delt with Dobyn's rod replacement and was more than impressed. I broke the tip off one of my Fury rods (my fault), sent them $50 and got a brand new one in about a week.
  8. I have both reels and I can assure you the Tat SV is worth the extra $. The SV's have become my "workhorse" reels. The main difference I have found between the SV and the CT is the SV feels more solid to me. It's a lot more smooth on both the cast and retrieve, and it's more forgiving when casting with minimal active braking. As stated, if you do backlash the result isn't as severe as on the CT. At least that's what I have found in my experience. Both reels will throw lighter baits with ease. The one downfall I have noticed with the SV's is the paint seems to chip fairly easily. It's nothing that a reel cover won't take care of while the reel isn't in use. YMMV
  9. Hey everyone! Glad to have finally joined. I've been fishing my whole life, but have only recently taken the plunge into primarily bass fishing only. I bank fish mostly, with a sprinkle of kayak fishing. However, it's hard to hold cover sitting in a yak with the ever blowing south winds we get here in south central KS. Anyways, I'm more of a reader than a poster as I don't have nearly the knowledge and experience as most, but I look forward to contributing a much as I can. Thanks!
