  1. About 2 hours from you towards buffalo area
  2. That would be a great rod for that. I use a Dobyns Fury MH / MF rod. It’s perfect for treble baits like that it’s the 705 CB I believe e
  3. I have the Megabass Orochi XX Perfect Pitch with a (yes I know) Lews Tournament pro LFS 7:5:1 gear ratio on 16 pound sunline super fc sniper fluoro. If I need to go into heavy heavy slop I switch to 50 pound braid.
  4. This lake has everything from smsllmouth, largemouth , walleye, perch, bluegill, Muskie , northern pike and obviously minnows and small baitfish. It’s a very nice yet small enough lake you could fish it all in a day or two
  5. I’ll have to try that this summer. Throw some deep diving cranks it’s jigs across the bottom. I’m not used to fishing in a boat as this is my first year. I have a lot to learn on fishing ledges , deeper water, structure and learning about the breaks etc. so I appreciate all help. I do know this lake has some big bass and other big trophy fish. They have had 50 inch Muskie Recorded here
  6. Well that is much better ha. I see what your saying now! Thank you again
  7. Could you circle the 6 o clock area your talking about? The saddle?? Sorry if I am a little confused.
  8. Where abouts in western new York? I live in western New York!!
  9. So it was a wonderful day today, air temps at 60, bright and sunny. I wanted to try a new local lake, water temps were between 51-53 degrees depending where I went . I tried the upper lake with no success and also the middle lake.. the upper lake didn’t seem to have much structure. Like a big bowl, lots of weeds and some docks. I tried flipping to the docks and using jerkbaits and cranks and swimbaits. Middle lake had more structure and trees and lay downs but also no luck. The only place I had luck was the lower lake. I found some gravel rock and sand area where I caught two nice smallmouth but that was it. Couldn’t really locate any other bass. Also to mention, when I did catch a bass I would see like 3-4 more follow in with it to the boat then scatter.. water was super super clear. Talking 8-10 feet of visibility. I am fishing out of a boat and tried my electronics but couldn’t seem to put any kind of pattern together or catch any more than 2 fish in 8 hours. There is a small channel between each lake where I tried , figure that’s a good ambush point but also, nothing.. how would you fish this?? Also to add I csught the smallmouth at the other end of the lower lake. If you come out of the channel shown below and head straight across the lake in about 7 ft of water.
  10. Tomorrow will be my first day out in two weeks! Temps have been slowly going up. Thursday was 45, today 56 and sunny and tomorrow 61 and sunny. I’m hoping the last 2 days with warmth will make saturday a good day! Water turned into gross stained nasty brown but eh I’ll have to do what I can. Used to clear water but I’m sure the bass are still there.
  11. I did buy it haha ! And yes @Teal info is in lol thank you everyone
  12. Not sure where to put this , more of a how reliable and safe is buying from eBay sort of question. I am looking to get a new lews reel and usually get from reputable places like tackle warehouse. I was doing some looking online and browsing eBay! This shows the lews I want , normally priced at 200$ down to 150$ .. is this legit ?? How can you tel it’s not a scam or maybe a fake lews or used ??
  13. ALX ZOLO DEPUTY or the DAIWA Rebellion are good. Also shimano zodias is decent
  14. Congrats!!!
  15. Literally me , I Jsut wipe my hands off on my pants and I’m good.. I’ll eat or drink or do whatever after. The only thing I ever really wash my hands off after is northern pike Bc they leave one hell of a snot trail
  16. Thank you! It was 20 x 14.5
  17. I was thinking MH but I wanna be able to throw some lighter stuff like 1/4 or maybe 1/8 at the lightest but I usually don’t go under 1/4 oz @Bird @jbsoonerfan @NHBull .. and seeing I only have one Mh /f rod I figure that would be another good all purpose general rod.
  18. Looking to get a designated small swimbait , underspin or jig type rod.. from 1/4 to 3/4 oz .. wondering if you would go with MH/F or M/F .. was looking at the shimano zodias or the new daiwa rebellion .. both look amazing! Thoughts on each.. I know single hooks need more power to set those hooks so.. fishing near some vegetation and wood etc.
  19. Anyone have a chance to try these out or even touch and see them in person? How do they feel? Light? Sensitive ? I’m interested in maybe getting one ... hmm
  20. Ugh I feel your pain! And that’s a nice fish @Paul Roberts !! Trying to stay motivated
  21. Keep the news comming please! I look forward to some pigs being shown! I don’t have much news as we had horrible 50 mph winds recently. Water levels rose a few feet and it snowed last night.. stuck inside for awhile. We did have 50-70 mph gusts causing insane waves along with snow fall and temps in 28 degree range. Pretty crazy year 2020 is turning out to be lol
  22. Same.. looking outside at work and we have an inch of snow on the ground.. so sad
  23. Pretty much the same thing happening here also, a week of warmth followed by a severe drop. Days in the high 50 and slow 60s then back to snow and cold. It was 53 and sunny today and then about an hour ago started to snow lol.. I guess I’m not used to such drastic change. I have been fishing for about 6 years now and I have seen some fronts but nothing as bad as this in mid April.. not used to 30-35 degrees drops around this time at least. I’ll jsut keep fishing and see what happens ! Best of luck to you also.
