So every time I try to upload a pictures it always says 75% of the time the size is to big and goes over the limit. I see guys posting multiple pics or even videos.. how?
Yeah the lake is small like I said. 50 acres and shallow. Max depth is 15 ft. The past 2ish-3 weeks it's been like 57 during the day and 36-38 at night so it cooled down super fast
Yeah this weekend is supposed to be somewhat sunny for the next 3 days so I'm hoping the warm stable weather makes the bite better .. never fished fall before. Still my first year fishing so didn't know how that worked. I know during summer hot months a good cold front makes the bite great.. apparently not now lol. I'll keep trying though.
So today I went out for a couple hours. Went to a lake about 50 acres big. One side has shallow area with more rocky bottom and silt the right side and middle are weedy read with the right side being deepest. Has a dam on the right side as well with weeds and a stream on two sides. So the problem I had today was couldn't get any fish! Not even a bite. The water temp was 60 degrees and I live In western New York. I tried jigs , buzzbait , spinnerbait. Swimjigs. And even real worms.. nothing. We did just have a small storm over night and rained for maybe 4 -5 hours but I thought the overcast sky's and clouds would make for good fishing? Is this bad when he water is colder now when a cold front comes in?
Oh god I had a buddy who ask me why he never catches anything. So I went out with him a couple times. He would throw a bait once or twice and if he didn't get bit he would change it .. he must have chnGed Baits 15 times in 30 minutes. I tried to help him and he wouldn't listen. Or he would rig up stuff in the worst way. He tried to put a plastic worm on a hook all balled up like it was a real worm.. or when you give advice and they say ok got it and then proceed to do the exact opposite you say
Awesome! I can't wait to try them out? I got mostly 3/8 oz withba couple 1/2 oz, is that good.
Yeah I got black, white, and then black and blue and white and reds , or black and reds to mix it up! Can't wait to try them out. And as stated above are the 3/8 oz the best size ? Wasn't sure
Soooo! Just stated using buzzbait the other day I picked up at Walmart , was a strike king 3/8 oz in red and black and man that thing got some fish! But I'm wondering now if there are any better or any tips? I just
purchased some from tackle warehouse hoping there good. I got some cavitron and some lure lunkers I believe. Black and blues and whites. Anyone else have luck with them? Excited to try them out.
So I just started using buzzbait and still wondering which one is better? Sooo many to choose from and when would you wanna use a clacker or one with holes or no holes etc? And best weight for use?
I almost had to tell someone off today.. I get kinda short tempered sometimes. I was fishing on a small 35 acre pond for canoes or Kayaks only and they have signs posted for nothing else and these two older men decide to bring there 14ft aluminum boat with trolling motor on.. I shake my head as they kept staring st me so I give them some looks. Then the one man proceeds to cast his stupid frog literally about 3 feet from me and casting over me .. I gave him a quick look and said "politely" to stop ... they got lucky I got a decent fish today lol.
Today' was a great day! Been getting discouraged by all the dinks lately and lucky enough a goose hunter had some details about a 35 acre pond close to where I was fishing .. didn't know much about it but a change of scenery is always nice .. well hell yeah it was! Great morning in New York with nice 4 lb 7 oz girl.
I agree I'm a "jerk" when it comes to fishing .. a lot of people catch and take or they are careless. We also have a lot of Amish folks where I live and they literally catch and eat anything and everything which is annoying. If they ask I'll say yeah I got some but won't say on what.. it was funny the day I got my PB I was super excited and obviosuly could tell I got something big but when asked all I said was eh.. was round 2 pounds. Nothing big ha
Wow I guess my logic was all wrong, I have some of those owner 3/0 hooks so I'll try those next
time. And I have never tried a wacky rig, this was my first
time ever using a senko or let alone any soft
plartix stick bait type. So I'll look into the wacky style as well! Thank you
Thank you for the advice! I'll try the 3/0. And you say you use a MH/F rod.. is that a spinning rod or baitcasting? I tried to use my baitcaster that is MH/F but the senko seemes
to light
Rly ? I figured the 4/0 goes down just little above half the worm so it would be better for hooksets since more hook can be in the mouth. Help stop short strikes of the worm. But I am Texas rigging it weightless. Usually hook exposed or when I get into more weeds I will skin hook it so it doesn't get caught up
And I have the worst luck in the world ha. But thanks didn't know if I was doing something wrong. I should also point out it was in a real weedy area and only about 4 ft deep.. so maybe they ran for the weeds and lost it that way
