  1. I'm looking for a baitcaster, I currently have 2 for certain setups but I want one more and I want it to be s very quality rod. Willing to spend little more than usual. I like 7 ft up to 7-3 inches. And I prefer a medium/fast action. And yes it will be for senkos and soft plasrics. G loomis has a decent rod but not exactly what I want. So I was looking at two others. Either the ALX ZOLO series or maybe a St Croix avid X ...
  2. Well as sword of the lord said, don't settle. I was looking st other rods. Has anyone ever used the ALX ZOLO series ? Looking st the 7 ft medium.. I thought I saw a post by @WRB but can't find it now. Reviews seem good? And it's in the 250$ price range
  3. If I can't get it in extra fast, does anyone have any suggestions for rods just as good and sensitive as the g loomis e6x ? Most I'll pay is 250$ For rod @OkobojiEagle @Catt @Sword of the Lord
  4. Does anyone think extra fast is to fast! I'm getting a G loomis e6x M extra fast for senkos and other soft plastics. I usually only go up to fast action but they don't make those .. they only have a 6 ft 6 inch in that, I prefer something little longer. Anyone think that's ok
  5. Idk about smallmouth but I can say large mouth love it.. I use the 90 and 130 in loon and absolutely crush them.. anywhere from half pound to 5 pounders. Maybe was just an off day
  6. Hello and welcome aboard !
  7. I was using a black cavitron 3/8 oz and switched over to a booyah red and back 3/8 with the two holes.
  8. So I finally narrowed it down , I'm getting a glooomis e6x rod in medium power but not sure for the action, I'll be using it 75-80% of time for senkos and weightless to light weight soft plastics ", Light T rigged plastics. Idk if I should get fast or extra fast action.. any suggestions would help. And also a spinning reel of snyone knows. Not sure of any good spinning reels. Nothing over 150$ please
  9. So this weekend I am going to fish the Niagara river by buffalo New York! Never have fished it before but we are going in a boat. Might fish by strawberry island I believe and just try every spot around there. Buddy has gone a couple times but not much luck.. anyone have any advice what to throw etc? We are going around 7-8 am
  10. People keep saying to reverse the hook via the gills and then pop it out. What do you mean? Can you elaborate more
  11. Hello and welcome !
  12. I use braid , 20 pound braid power pro to be exact. And I keep it on a semi slack line as stated above. Just little tension, I do watch the line for any movement and the rod. I never have ran my fingers across it so I'll try doing that next. And try the circle hooks
  13. Just keep killing them all till I learn to watch and feel better haha. Jk jk
  14. I use the wacky rig and the bass don't bite really. As soon as I switch to the Weightless T rigged they go crazy for it. Any suggestion besides learning to feel the bite better so I don't let them inhale it
  15. I'll start doing that. You just take some pliers and squeeze the barb?
  16. I never thought about de barbing the hook. You don't loose hookups or lose fish at all? Since it doesn't stick as good.
  17. That helps with the swallowing part ? Yeah but there such a fish catcher. Just slay them
  18. So I just started using senkos lately but the problem is I can't always detect the smaller bites or subtle bites and have killed two fish now.. they keep swallowing the hook and I hate killing bass. So I'm wondering if anyone knows a decent spinning setup with a lot of sensitivity untill I get better. Rod and reel for under 250$ please .. I have access to cabelas and field and stream so anything from there is great. Don't wanna keep hurting these guys. Oh and I'll be using the spinning setup for mainly senkos and soft plastics probably 85% of the time.
  19. Welcome to the best place on earth!
  20. My PB is just shy of 6 pounds so I'm hoping to break that soon! Your right it's addicting. Never knowing if there is anything bigger. The small lake I fish constantly produces big fish. Ever time I go out I usually catch 1-2 in he 4 pound range and 3-4 bass I. He 3 pound range. Always can count on those. So I know if there are lots of 4 pounder I'm sure here is a big momma in there 6+ pounds.
  21. Yeah. No kidding. It's way to hot lately, I'm excited for Thursday Bc it's supposed to be like 60 again. Can't wait
  22. Oh yeah I much prefer a castingrod over spinning, just easier to use. What kind of rod did you get for lighter weights? Length and strength etc.
  23. So I have two rods as of now. A medium moderate fast fenwick for crankbaits and spinners etc. then I have a Mh fast st croix mojo for jigs and heavier lures. My question is what is best for senkos, light t rigged plastics , or lighter baits. Should I get a spinner rod for these or get s medium light baitcaster to throw the light lures.
  24. I also should have made a " how many times has the wife/girlfriend stopped you" page lol
