  1. Awesomeness thanks everyone for the input. Guess I wasn't to far off with what I'm doing
  2. Thanks everyone, I think I might go to 15 pound flouro and stay with that, we don't have tons and tons of weeds or lots of rocks enough to risk a break off. I usually use 10 -12 but just incase 15 should do the trixk
  3. So I was watching some YouTube videos of guys out fishing and they are throwing T rigs and jigs and soft plastics on 25 pound flouro.. I think that's a little overkill unless I'm missing something, they said it's to help not break off. I usually only use 10 pound abraisx and wondering if maybe I should up it to 15 or more. I know it's about where I'm throwing it and we do have some trees and limbs or rocks where I fish but is 20-25 pound needed ?
  4. Ok I'll try the gallon ziploc bag trick or the deep planks. I use a lot of keitechs also and the plastic package stinks.. very awkward. I'll try those suggestions! Thanks everyone
  5. Title says it all, I'm looking for a good bag to carry soft plastics, I usually leave them in the bag they come in but carrying around a huge Walmart bag full of soft plastics and other baits isn't holding up.. I have a nice multi 3 layer tray for my hard baits like jerks, cranks, etc. but looking for s good soft plastic/ jig carrier thanks.
  6. Yeah I'm taking out my old town saranac , I love it
  7. Yay I just checked the lake and it is thawed now !! You know what that means. @RPreeb @Fish the Mitt @webertime Lake is thawed ! Only 41 degrees out today but who knows. I hope I get a bite !
  8. Gonna need that extra heavy setup with the 16 oz tungsten lol
  9. Yeah we had winds around 15-25 mph so i hope it thaws! Wanna get even the smallest bass
  10. So I fish a couple small lakes and ponds .. I went to see if the ice was thawed Monday bc it has been 67-70'degrees, random heat wave. And it still had about quarter inch or inch of ice. Now it's supposed to stay around 50'degreees for the high and 42 degrees for the low all week. By the time weekend comes do you think the lake would be thawed or half thawed so I could fish??
  11. Thank you for the tip. I'm hoping march brings some warm weather so I can start fishing!
  12. Thanks everyone. I'll check those out
  13. lookinf to buy a nice rain gear/cold weather combo with jacket and bibs. I live in NY and it gets cooold and wet here a lot during the fishing year. Want something that will keep me warm into the 30-40 degree temps and dry
  14. Soooo!! It's been months since I posted it been fishing. Live in wester NY and don't do ice fishing.. hoping march brings some warmer weather and the ice thaws so I can start fishing again ! The fish withdrawal is real lol. On another note, this will be my first chance actuslly to fish pre spawn in Ny so I'm wondering what's the best jerk or rip bait to use for the colder slower waters.
  15. That would have been awesome to see
  16. Yeah I know! For me the whopper plopper is a big fish catcher ! I reember during summer strying off in the morning catching like 10-15 in 90 minutes or so.. also my very first pike was on the loon 130.. that was a badass topwater hit ! Oh and another warning label bc of how sticky those treble hooks are!
  17. I just went out today and got 5 decent ones, was the last day on the canoe for me. I'll still fish from shore here and there until the water freezes , was a good year tho.. was cool looking over my tackle today of all the crazy bite marks and torn up baits .. my whopper plopper was destroyed !
  18. I was just going over this the other day! I really got hard into fishing this year and as a beginner I rly did have much but 1 spinning rod , some split shots, bobbers and worms.. I think I have learned so much from friends and everyone on here and became better all around fisherman , but I went over the totals of how much spent this year between trial and error with junk lures and having to get all I need as far as jigs, crankbaits, spinners, swimbaits, plastics and hooks and frogs and so on.. I spent roughly 3500 on everything ?.. actually I forgot about my canoe.. make that 4000$
  19. d**n dude that's nice! I have an old town myself, 14.5 footer.. and we went out today on Lake Erie and we just couldn't find them... the guy I was with doesn't rly know how to use his lowrance so we didn't get **** Yeah we have a lot of good creeks that steelhead love to come up, I was thinking about trying it this weekend !
  20. Apparently it's me hah
  21. I don't have a boat all i have is a canoe. And the area where the fish are as of now require a boat.. @A-Jay
  22. So up here in ny the fishing season for me is pretty much over .. such s sad moment. This is the last week of warm weather but the water temp where I fish is already in low 50s.. fish are biting slow it's getting to cold to fish , at least for me.. and the weatherman called for 1/4 inch of snow at night next week.. soon it will be only memories and dreams of catching fish as I don't ice fish, can't wait till spring already. For some of you down south this is one of the best times of year so I'm jealous ! Keep on catching those fish and giving good stories so I have something to pass the time.
  23. Welcome!
  24. What trailers are those? Never seen them before
  25. So your saying stay fat and float ? Hah
