  1. I came across this fact earlier today and figured I would give a share and laugh ha. When people ask what do you consider “clear water” well how about this clear ! That’s insane.
  2. I have used the 6.8 and use a 8/0 hook. Works just fine
  3. @Gundog we got about a foot of snow today with crazy high winds ! High of 30 and low of 27 tonight .. we are done for the season in Ny as far as I’m concerned also. Can’t wsit for spring now ! Ugh I hate this.. just 5 more months , just 5 more months
  4. It’s supposed to be 28 degrees Saturday and Sunday in western NY so no ! I hate winter
  5. Yeah the adventure is also at a “nationally advertised price “ but I got one dealer to take about 1,000$ off. I really like the layout of the adventure and the bigger size as I will be fishing on Erie. I always get scared / nervous making big investments always worry about what if. Even when I check my income like 10 times to make sure I can afford it I still wonder ha. Like hmmm is an extra 300$ a week enough ? Lol @haggard @jbmaine
  6. I think I’m going with the Lund ! We have a huge boat show every year around the end of February and everything is on sale. So I’ll save up till then! Expect some pics next year if my newboat ! @Catt @slonezp @jbmaine @the reel ess
  7. Yeah Sunday looks perfect ! Monday will be a little windy but still nice
  8. I fish from an15.5 ft canoe and carry 4-5 rods ha. I have a soft plastic rod, frog/heavy cover rod , jerkbait and cranking rod , heavy jig type rod and a spinnerbaits rod
  9. Has anyone heard anything good from these ? I checked my marina and they had this which is around my price point. What’s everyone think? Or just spend the extra 3000$ and get the adventure series. Which is about 24,000$ after taxes and everything
  10. Irod genesis rods have a lifetime limited warranty. But I think if it’s your fault it’s only 50$ to replace. Seeing as how the rods cost 150$ that’s a good deal for a new rod
  11. I would be able to fish but man .. everyday in ny it had been raining hard! And blowing 15-20 mph winds.. that just doesn’t make for a good day. Sunday is supposed to be nice finally followed by 2 more weeks of rain wind
  12. WHAT do those run and I like having a Lund dealer close for repairs if needed .
  13. Yeah this is the exact one I was looking at ! The marina close to me had a 1675 model for 19,000$ probably 21,000$ after tax
  14. Sounds like I’m going with the Lund, and the Lund dealership is very respected , it’s probbsly the biggest boat dealership out this way also. Can’t wsit ! Will probably be getting it this spring early March ! Right before pre spawn
  15. So my other post asked about buying a new boat and now I have come across the issue of either welded or riveted .. one person says welded is bad bc it cracks and others say rivets are bad bc it leaks around the rivet. Let’s say I’m trying to find a boat to hold up to Lake Erie which would be best, riveted or welded ? And my choice of boat is either going to be a Lund or a tracker both deep V. Have two big marina close to me that sell tracker company boats or Lund boats like Lund, Starcraft, polarkraft.
  16. Sounds like I want one of those , but also when I read online reviews a lot of people say go welded bc in time the rivets break and water gets in .. so idk! Ahh this is hard to figure out what is best
  17. Thank you, the only thing I worry about with tracker is the welded hull. I heard from multiple people that the hulls crack a lot compared to riveted.
  18. Your making me sad haha. I’ll just keep looking , what do you think about polarcraft ?
  19. Wow ha that’s crazy , I’m not looking for all the bells and whistles just yet, but the guy I work wth owns a Lund. It’s a 17 ft with a 60 HP motor. Came with basic stuff like a lowrance hook fish finder, trolling motor and some basic things. His only cost 19,000$ was hoping for something around the same
  20. Thanks ! I cslled a few other places and one marina around us has Lund’s and polarcraft so I’m going to visit them. They said they had a 2008 18 ft polarcraft for 16,000$ but that seems expensive
  21. Yeah I know I’m looking for a deep v , a flat bottom would be horrible for Lake Erie. The tracker pro v is a deep v style isn’t it? I added a couple photos of what I was talking about
  22. I would say 50/50 or maybe 60/40 with Lake Erie being 60. Wanna learn to chase those smallies all season. But I enjoy some inland lakes bc we have good lakes with Muskie and bass inland also.
  23. Title says it all, looking to purchase my first boat ever. Looking for something 17-18 ft and that can handle the Great Lakes. I want to be able to fish Lake Erie but also small inland lakes. I was looking at the tracker pro 175 , or the Lowe in the same 175 model. My budget is around 20,000$.. looking for some good and bad reviews , pros be cons of models. We have a cabelas near me that carries tracker and nitro and some other boat dealerships that have Lowe and Lund ..
  24. THey are in some stores but not any near me. I love them and irod. Both are amazing
  25. As everyone else said, jerkbaits !! And if that doesn’t work then a jerkbait haha .. but seriously either a jerkbait, jig, T rig soft plastic
