Wow I am an idiot. I completely passed this and thought those were just weeds not fish This sucks and I passed these having no idea and thought jt was weeds

So I got the new lowrance FS 9 inch display with the side scan and down scan. I have never had anything this clear and accurate and I’m wondering what exactly am I looking at? Are these arches fish? In 6 FOW or are they just weeds? Also if you zoom in a little you can see some reddish orange color. Are those fish ? I was always using a basic hook 4 with horrible quality. Trying to figure out what these are here ?

Yes it is.. very few know how to fish this area correctly (or at least from what I seen) so it’s nice to be able to catch these gorgeous fish! Jsut so happens my very first cast of the year and the very first fish of the year was the 6 lb 6 oz PB. TALK ABOUT EXCITMENT. Thank you!

Hello all! It’s been awhile since I have posted, lots of family health issues and working crazy hours, things have finally died down and I hope to keep back on here as much as possible. The best thing though is the water is warming up and bass are moving in! Past 4 days have been epic! Between 50-60 bass caught each day and broke my new record smallie! Weighed in at 6 pounds 6 oz !!! Can’t wait to see what the rest of the reason has in store. Some more brutes !

Last year I just used normal car soap to clean the outside and vacuumed and scrubbed a little of the inside. I need something better this year. Wondering what everyone uses to clean the outside aluminum hull of the boat and then what do you use for the inside flooring and carpets etc ? Looking to get a decent product and have my baby shining !

Ok I don’t think I want to spend 800$ to add it. At this point does it matter if I get a humminbird or lowrance or garmin since I don’t have the link? So if I don’t get the link then it doesn’t matter which fish finder I get? Lowrance or garmin or humminbird at this point

Can I get the link part separate since I have the ultrex ? Or would I have to buy a whole sepwrate unit again

I don’t mind waiting untill may I guess then. I know where the fish are most of the time untilk then from years of fishing the spawn. It’s after which haunts me ! Guess I’ll get the new one and just take the pain of waiting

Hello! I am finally get my first decent fish finder. I currently have a 200$ hook 4 lowrance with no special features and I am upgrading to the humminbird. I would like down imaging and side imagine and wondering which would be best , the gen 3 or gen 4? Can’t really find much of a difference between the two and don’t want to get the older one if it becomes to outdated. I was looking at the hummingbird helix 8 chirp MSI+ GPS 4 . I also have a minnkota ultrex I pilot and figured they would go good together. Any thoughts on this setup? The only issue is the gen4 is back ordered untill may 31 ! But I can find some gen3 now .. is it worth it to wait?

This same thinf happened to me! Set the hook on a 3/4 oz jig and about a foot of the tip of the rod broke off .. I didn’t like this at all. I have other rods that has never had this issue

So I’m looking to get another spinning rod to my setup and I keep going back and forth between two rods and just can’t seem to pick, let’s hear opinions! I’m lookin for a little heavier finesse rod, I already own a Light+ rod for 1/16 - 3/8 oz but I want a 1/8-5/8 oz rating for heavier shaky heads , worms , heavier drop shot or neds and maybe a small jerkbaits. I have narrowed it down to either the ALX ZOLO Maestro which is a 7 ft medium light+ or the Shimano Zodias Medium light ... which one do you think is best?

So I started hiking a lot more and along all these trails are nice little ponds or rivers etc and I use a backpack and want to know the best travel rod in your experience ? Doesn’t have to be anything crazy expensive. 150$ is fine, but something I can use to throw some baits around! Also your input on your best fishing backpack , not just for lures but in general, to hold tackle box and other essentials while hiking.

Soo I haven’t been around for awhile now and haven’t been as active as we found out my father had a brain tumor. I have been doing my best to help and take care of him while he needed it and wasn’t fishing or doing much with everything going on. My dad is recovering now and seems to be doing ok! So I will continue to help and pray for recovery to go smooth. Now! Finally back to fishing. I will be going out to Lake Erie later in the day and was wondering how deep would a bass be to hit topwater ? I have never tried topwater fishing on Lake Erie before thinking it was too deep for a bass to commit to. Water clarity is really good, my buddy was out and saying he could see bottom in 12-15 FOW , would a bass come up from let’s say 20 feet to hit a topwater ? I hope to show off some pics of giant smallies later tonight. I am itching for a tug on the other line as it’s been so long.

Agree with everyone else 3-4 pounds

So it was a slower day today on Lake Erie so I decided to go searching for some prime locations maybe later in the year or now and I stumbled across some interesting finds. My first year in a boat so I’m new to all of this but let me lay this out. Please bare with me and help if you can. So I head out from the harbor which starts around 3-5 FOW , I get past the break walls and head towards a beach where I have caught some bass before on a friends boat. I come to the area and see this amazing chunk rock! It actually looks like concrete on the bottom sitting in around 7-10 FOW (Lake Erie is crystal clear right now and can see about 15-20 feet down) but I’m sitting in this 7-10 foot range and can see bass and fish swimming around, it was this huge area that almost looks as if they tried to put concrete in the water at some point so I try throwing a jerkbait , crankbait and swimbait but no luck.. I notice some bass boats way further off in the distance and wonder what they are doing out there. So I start heading out and that way.. when the chunk rock and concrete end it drops to about 20 feet of water.. all of a sudden I get to where these boats are like 1/4 mile off shore and it all of a sudden goes from 20 feet back to like 7-8 feet of water .. again it looks like chunk rock , like a huge rock reef or concrete. Like giant planes came in and set blocks down in the water haha , you could see bass and other fish swimming around. Again I threw some Jerkbaits, swimbaits and cranks to get down but had no luck.. I tried to fish the edges and drop offs but again no luck. I’m new to this type of fishing so what am I doing wrong or how would you approach this? Would the bass hold to these locations after spawn? Or fall? I marked a lot of areas to come back to. It’s hard to describe what I saw and couldn’t really get pictures but it was interesting to see how it went from so deep to shallow as can be so far out.

Just another wonderful time on the water , jerkbait and small swimbaits are the ticket this time of year.. slower day than normal with around 30 fish for the day but I had to snap a couple pics and the random northern that decided to eat. They wanted them faster as the water temps are reaching 54-56 now , soon we will see those beds forming and chaos begins ! They are all so fat!
