  1. Yeah I went out again today and I just see little fish jumping straight out of the water all over the place. Didn’t get anything on topwater but csught a bunch of largies
  2. So I went out today and noticed some fishing splashing up on the surface. Same some minnows jumping out and around and wondered if topwater was finally an option. Not sure if water temp but I know Lake Erie is 53 degrees and the small lake I’m fishing inland is like 60 acres so it warms up a lot faster. Wondering if I should try topwater tomorrow morning or just sleep in a little and not worry.. water temps have to be at least 55 I would say. Was thinking of maybe a buzzbait or popper style
  3. How did you mount them? They don’t go into the track system do they
  4. Question of the day for me. Going to be using it for ned rig and drop shot , I have seen some say 15 pound braid or 20 pound. I’ll be fishing pretty clear water from 3-8 feet visibility depending where I go .. what is the benefits of each and has anyone seen loss of Strikes due to braid? I have always used fluoro unless it’s topwater or frogging
  5. I have a bunch and obsoulutely love them, never had a problem with them breaking and the only chipping of paint is after then catch 50 bass and a day of hammertime !
  6. I use 16 pound fluoro and never had a problem on spinnerbaits. Buzzbait is usually straight braid 50#
  7. I would go with AFTCO Proteus , I was hesitant at first to spend so much but omg! First off this spring has been Perfect to test them out because it has done nothing but rain. But they have been amazing! They keep me 100% dry , the water just beads off like a ducks feathers. They are light weight , they are great for all year use except when it’s colder you want to layer up. They are made a bit bigger which allows for the layerings. The difference in bibs and pants to me isn’t anything. The aftco proteus are made for warm and cold weather and wouldn’t be uncomfortable at all in hot days. I would suggest these to anyone.
  8. I throw a swimjig most if the time over a chatterbaits. They are more weedless as I fish around mostly weeded area. Chatterbaits are better for more windy and stained water for me.
  9. Congrats man! Fat brown ones are my favorite
  10. That is a true beauty !
  11. I found the yak attack omega rod holders. They can swivel and move anyway. You can easily remove them and add them on any track system. And you can lay them down so the rods come out the back
  12. They were mostly small but still fun! My friend was out in his boat and he was amused at how they were hitting. I found them only in one spot and we did the buddy system. I had to use the bathroom and he was on is boat. He csme over and picked me up in my kayak so I didn’t lose my anchor spot and he fished while I used the bathroom and got snacks then csme back and picked me up and dropped me back off on my kayak haha
  13. I spoiled the line on vertically. I have one of those spool stations that clamps down on the table , should I have not used that and laid it down then
  14. I was using sunline super FC sniper 8# test and using the new daiwa Procyon LT
  15. Got my first ever ned rig fish today! And the little fish is the second one lol , caught about 100 smallmouth today! Biggest was 4.11 but didn’t get a pic, most were smaller guys.
  16. Went out today and had to cut off so much like bc of line twist and no idea how to fix it. Any thoughts while I’m on the water would rly help! Thank you.
  17. On the kayak or the black pack? There is some holes on the black pack yehs. You think he yak attack holder holders would work. They look like they face back?
  18. There is only 3 rod holders on the one I have. They just stick straight up
  19. So I went out today for the first time on my nucanoe frontier. I had the black pack with the rod holders in it.. twice I casted and hooked one of my rods and lost my lure do to it snapping... not happy about that but love the boat, anyway. Anyone know how to add on rod holders that face back or down so I don’t do this.. sorry mods not sure where I should put this either. Right now the holders are straight up and I don’t want to continue this trend lol
  20. Which is even better , the love feed bags , weather has sucked but it’s pushing the pre spawn further I think.
  21. Beautiful new rod came in ! ALX ZOLO trickster. I have to say this thing feels amazing. Lightweight , super sensitive , the guides are perfect, the design , all of it! I wish I would have known about these long ago and thank @WRB for telling me about them. Can’t wait to try it out but they sure didn’t disappoint. I talk to Alex himself and he spent 10 minutes talking to me and was very knowledgeable about everything. They packaged it super well so there was no way it would be damaged ! Super customer service , now let’s go fish.
  22. Straight braid .. to much stretch with anything else when your setting the hook on a fish with 10 pounds of slop
  23. I think I have a problem.. been working lots of overtime and got my paycheck in.. not good lol. But hey now I can use true finesse techniques ! My ALX zolo rod comes in tomorrow along with my new fishing kayak ! Can’t wait to go out.
  24. Sadly I don’t have a graph. I fish out of s kayak and haven’t gotten a graph yet. I’m mostly fishing for pre spawn smallies in 10 ft or less water. I’ll start out with a shorter lewder as the average depth I’m in is 5-6 ft I’ll try with 12 inches and see how that goes. If that’s to short I’ll try 18 ! Thanks everyone
  25. Thank you everyone! I’ll will do my best to catch and show those big brown brutes. @Sam
