  1. I can find the fish, I’ll throw a swimjig or spinnerbaits, a swimbait with a jighead, soft plastics etc. chatterbaits. And catch fish. Then throw a crankbaits of many kinds and catch nothingn.. in the same spots/areas
  2. Thank I’ll comtinue to try and do this. Thank you! I’ll do my best Will do! Next up on the list then
  3. My wrists usually hurt after a day of jerkbait fishing for smallies in the spring .. so much motion to use them and then when you catch 50 smallmouth a day it can take a beating lol
  4. So I have read the mega thread and topic on cranks and no matter what lake or pond wherever I go I have never gotten a crankbaits bite. I have tried shallow , deep , in between. Bouncing off rocks and wood , all kinds of structure. Ripped out of grass. Burned or slow cranked. Nothing ever happens ! I want to be good at using them , they seem like such a fun way to catch fish , I have tons of different kinds but they’ve just sit there... if I throw anything else it gets bit. Switch back to a crank and nothing .. my goal for next year snd now is to try and get better with these dang things.
  5. Well d**n.. so every time I see something that looks like that. I should set a waypoint ?
  6. Jerkbaits is not to big at all and the slower the better. I have honestly counted to 17 seconds before and then had a bass smash the bait .. it gets boring but sometimes it works. Btw that 17 second pause was a 5 + pounder.
  7. This is a lake , there isn’t much current. It does have feeder and outgoing creeks to it though. And I should have waypointed that brush ? Why so.. sorry still really new to this. I didn’t put any waypoint .. should I go back and do it or why would you
  8. Was trying for bass but ended up with this instead , I’ll take it. Did manage a few largemouth later on
  9. Ok thank you! I thought those lines comming up were maybe small fish .. guess I was way wrong lol
  10. Hey I’m trying to learn more with my sonar. Can anyone help tell me what I’m seeing here ?
  11. Oh yeah I was shaking when I saw it. My adrenaline was pumping. Even more so that I was using 16 pound fluoro , no leader with a swimjig down it’s throat, never did break me off. Was funny thought bc I asked my friend. “I wonder if I should read tie “ he looks at me dead in the eye and says “always , always retie after that “ hah
  12. I went out and with the help of everyone on here I did it alone with ease Thank you ! @WRB @A-Jay @MickD @TnRiver46
  13. Thank you Thank you! This was extremely in depth. I’m going to go out in a little bit and try this exact thing. And thanks also I couldn’t tell in the video , was the wind blowing ? Hahah @A-Jay
  14. I go fishing a lot by myself so I’m wondering what is the easiest way to launch the boat and re trailer it when your by yourself ? I think launching is easier but to get it back on is harder.
  15. Someone mentioned a “show your ride” thread figured I would post this here instead
  16. Will do! And I a always triple check everything , have bad ocd when it comes to stuff like this.
  17. So we have a lot of good Muskie lakes where I live and of course the Niagara River is only 45 minutes away but surprisingly I have never caught a Muskie ! Always wanted a huge beautiful toothy critter but never managed to land one, until today. Got my first todsy , the new boat is bringing good luck. She isn’t huge but it was amazing. It’s nice being able to to use a depth finder and see structure and ledges etc , really does help. Also a nice little smallmouth on a crankbaits.
  18. It’s the adventure series
  19. The picture credit is given to my friend who came with me haha. He just went for the ride , doesn’t really fish , but man wouldn’t that’s be something if I could do that haha
  20. So I finally went and picked up the new boat, I took to it like a natural. Learned how to back up pretty fast and Learned all the buttons and gadgets and check list I need. If anyone has any suggestions of things you must have let me know! But here is my first ride and fish! Nice 30 inch northern
  21. Reel faster lol ... but that sounds like a plan.
  22. Honestly I use 3/8 most of the time. Don’t even own a 1/4 oz. it fishes just fine in that shallow of water. And can drag it if needed and swim and everything in between.
  23. 3.8 or the 4.3 and 4.8 depending on time of year or fishing for. 3.8 for smallies. Bigger stuff for largemouth
  24. Nah I have a pretty good stomach. I have been on boats before out in big waves and held up fine thank god.
  25. Well I will. If Erie is rough I’ll go to smaller inland lakes. Obviously won’t fish in 40 mph winds but ya. And really familiar ? Then could you help me ha. My first time out truly on a boat , and good advice or areas would help. I fish out of Dunkirk harbor
