  1. I fish out of my boat solo 99.9 % of the time or well I fish with my dogs but I haven’t taught them how to back them truck up yet. They are learning ?. But serious I back the truck up, take the boat off and tie up then get in my truck and drive away etc just like you do snd just like A-jay does. Whoever is giving you issues is just being an jerk and don’t pay attention. Your doing everything correctly. As A-Jay said. If they are in such a hurry they should have gotten there sooner. Just keep doing what your doing and literally ignore them and take your time. It’s fishing not life or death.
  2. Right and I just love those daiwas. Not a fan of any of the shimano reels.
  3. Yeah I was wondering how it would hold it. I noticed the shimano Zodias and now the Expride seem smaller than most other actions. But it feels very sturdy. Can’t wait to use it. I have it paired up with a daiwa haha which I know some people would never but idc. I have the daiwa SV tws and it’s amazing
  4. Sooo I was finally able to get my first shimano Expride as they are always always sold out or finally get back in stock when I don’t have the money. I picked up a 7 ft 2 H/F to see what the hype is about. I have to say I am pretty impressed. I have rods ranging from G loomis e6x to megabass orochi xx and I think my cheapest is a ST CROIX MOJO bass. I have to say this is an amazing rod. I think it’s more sensitive than the OROCHI XX and lighter for sure. The only thing I notice is that it’s not as powerful as my other Heavy action rods. It seems like it’s more of a MH than a heavy. It says rates for up to 1 1/2 oz but I definitely wouldn’t go more than an OZ but this would be amazing for anything 3/8 to 1oz range. Super sensitive ! Super lightweight. I guess all the hype was real.
  5. Finally found one in stock that I can use! Let’s see what the hype is all about for these rods. Shimano Expride 7 ft 2 heavy .. hope it’s all the hype says it is.
  6. Well that’s good to know I can at least tell a fish. And some look suspended I think bc of the shadows. This whole area looks like that.. but I can’t seem to catch them.
  7. So I have been studying snd YouTubing and doing all I can on here snd I think I understand it for the most part. But I assume those white dots or “grains of rice” are fish? Or tell me if I am not seeing this correctly. What am I looking at on the side imaging.
  8. Do you ever feel bad when you go out fishing with a buddy who also “fishes “ but then when you go out? who really is a fisherman with the gear and rods and every tackle and bait and catch 7 fish to his 1 fish.. and his are tiny lol. Do you feel bad like dang let me help or like just stop fishing so he can try and fish? Or do you just keep crushing them lol
  9. Tight line for sure ! I have tried slack lining and always miss more when trying to slack then set. I tight line and hit them hard and fast!
  10. Come to where I am in the spring and I can get you on some huge smallmouth !! That’s my speciality
  11. Finally got into the deep cranking rabbit hole, one thing I forgot was some strike king 10 XD but I will get those next time haha. I think most of my bases are covered from 9-25 FOW
  12. That is what perfect thank you so much for adding to that. Now I know what your taking about and using the picture and arrow. That makes a lot of sense. I really want to learn this lake as it has everything I need to fish.
  13. I have fished it a couple times but not so much luck, I would love love to learn to fish Chautauqua. I have caught a couple bass out of there this spring but it’s huge ! So much space to pick from. Have only gone twice so I can’t say much about it.
  14. No kidding small World , and which one is Tom LOL, I read all of the people who commented snd and willing to give it a shot
  15. Thank you very very much, now I understand a lot more about these points you mention. That makes sense on how to fish jt always. I know the one lower point is above water but I didn’t realize the other point that is obviously underwater. I’ll attempt to fish it like you said and come from the sides. You want to hit the sides then the point from shore to open water gotcha. Yes I want to learn how to fish offshore as I know it holds bigger fish and honestly most of the people I see around here just beat the bank over and over so I bet the deeper fish don’t get touched often with lures. And thank you @WRB I didn’t notice that at all. I wasn’t sure if that was a point or not. I will try that and fish those deeper areas for the Muskie or pike!
  16. Thank you that does help, I have caught fish all in the random places but I found never really establish a pattern. I’ll try that point I see where it pushes out and see what happens.
  17. So the main lake I fish had a broken dock and it finally opens up next week. Now that I have a decent fish finder with down image and side scan and more electronics I want to be able to fish this properly. I’m confused on some things like fishing a “main lake point” or to fish the “creek channel” . I assume a flat is exactly that. An area whether it’s deep or shallow but an area that is flat level for a wide range of distance. But what is the way you would fish this lake? Here are some pics to help.. I have plenty of deeper stuff and shallow tackle at my disposal. There are bass , northern pike and Muskie that I would love to target.
  18. Do you remove the split ring on the lure and just tie to the snap then and clip it on the bill? Or do you leave the split ring and clip to that?
  19. Pretty much the title , I just started getting into deeper cranking and love it. Anywhere from 10 FOW TO 25 FOW but I have been using a snap swivel .. wondering if that’s bad and how would you crank? I would hate to tie directly and keep Retieing tons of times and wasting line. If your able to use a snap or something then what size also?
  20. Yes the settings are the same. I have not touched anything out of factory settings. So those red dots are nothing then. I’m going on the water now for more testing.
  21. Thanks I am going to go out today on a better lake and try and figure it out some more! Read the manual and sit there till I get it I guess
