  1. Lol. I had a long post with an explanation of my experience (very very positive) but i realized if I kept it posted then people may take advantage of the exchange policy there. Nobody replied for a couple days so I edited the post. Sorry ?
  2. yeah mike, pm me I would love to
  3. https://photos.app.goo.gl/0aY4nWxce06bjyAN2 Having issues uploading photos so there are some pics there, and also pics of some of the fish I've been catching. I think I need to have a reference object in the bass pics, cuz they don't look as big in these pics. Re: hooksets on plastics. That is my problem, I just kind of reel in and put strong pressure, a little tug but not a home run swing. I read and see all the good ones pulling the rod up like they are Hercules, but I'm always worried it will pull it out of the fish's mouth. I know I'm wrong, but I have to get past that spinnerbait hookset. It's the only thing I haven't been able to internalize, like make it automatic. Thanks for the advice, and hopefully I can conquer the hookset.
  4. Tc I'll eat dinner then I'll post pics of mine Maybe I can get some video tomorrow evening when my wife and I go fishing
  5. Didn't catch anything on it but this rig just LOOKS like bass would want it! Also, I stopped at a new to me pond and in 20 minutes I caught a 2 plus and lost another the same size. I don't think I set the hook hard enough when fishing senkos and whatnot. I lose 40% of the fish I hook.
  6. I lost a big one. No joke. It was on a bad cast, and I figured I would drag it across the land and into a little puddle looking spot, between grass and lily pads. As soon as it slipped into the water a huge bass exploded on it. I set the hook and after getting over the shock of me setting the hook, I realized it was very big. It head thrashed and dove down and wrapped me on the lily pads. I managed to break it loose and it wrapped more lily pads. It was stuck. I couldn't budge it. Then my blue yum worm came flying back it me. I caught 3 others in the 2 hours I was out there, and saw a guy named Paul fishing. I stopped while I was leaving and we talked, told me he never caught fish there. So I showed him the little spot I had been fishing and told him I had good luck today (it was my first time there). So I left him with a blue worm and showed him where I was having the most action. I sure hope Paul had some fish on today! I have now decided if I see lily pads I'm using my 12lb and 15lb rigs. I was using a Shakespeare Reverb 5-6 spinning combo with 8lb test. Rod and reel has handled all the big fish I've caught recently...quite nicely in fact. But my heart sank when I realized I couldn't get the fish unstuck, so bigger rigs if I see lily pads from now on. I actually restrung one that had 12lb test with 15 because the reel has a good 200 yard capacity with it when I got home from the shock of losing that fish. I will go back and I will be ready

  8. A-Jay to the rescue! Thanks bro
  9. Okiedokie... Was fishing a couple months ago and found this floating in the water on top of some grass by the bank. Anybody know who makes it/what model it is? Thanks!
  10. I went 3 local ponds today and while fishing my 2nd choice pond, a guy pulls up and said he's seen me out there fishing a few times while he drove by. I had just extended my good luck streak to 6 straight days. I think he was on his lunch break and he grabbed a rod out of the 6 or so in his truck (that made me smile since i keep my rigs in the car just in case i see somewhere new to try) and fished with me a while. We both hooked up small ones but lost them both lol... So Justin, if you're here, nice fishing with you and I hope you have good luck at the other pond! I know I do ?. Speaking of the other pond...I was going to a band rehearsal and stopped by my number 1 pond. After a few minutes the same scenario unfolded: a guy pulls up and we start talking. He pulls out a rod from his trunk and said he saw me out fishing before. Unfortunately I was getting late for the rehearsal so I said I'm making a few more casts. Ryan it was great to meet you and share the water with you bro. I don't know if either of them are on BR, but if you are let's get together and catch some bass!
  11. Yeah man...my confidence bait has always been spinnerbaits. I made a goal to learn soft plastics this summer. The 2 months of whiffing every hookup was painful! The more i throw soft plastics the more i "get it". Lord knows how many bass have picked it up, swam around, went for drinks, rook a nap then spit it out with me none the wiser...lol... But now i see that line move or twitch and i reel down, feel the fish and do a nice sweep hookset. Gaining confidence every day on flukes and senkos. Even lizards... My wife went bass fishing for the first time and landed a 5lb lm on a spinnerbait. That day I caught a 12 incher and a (don't laugh) 6 incher. She handled the big one well. It blew up on the spinnerbait 2 feet out. As she was reeling faster to lift it over the weedbed. She grew up in Montana fishing for salmon and trout and she was impressed with how hard a bass will nail a spinnerbait!
  12. That's great about you and your daughter starting out a lifetime of sharing the love of fishing! It's about the only thing i can afford to do with my kids out of the house, other than an occasional movie and a restaurant now and then... We also jam out on my instruments. They don't know what they are doing technically, but they are pretty musical already... Keep on fishing man!
  13. Well, after 2 months of skunk city, I have a 5 day streak going...even caught a gill on a 7 inch yum worm...and 2...TWO turtles. The latest bass, first cast to a laydown and it hit, I wasn't really ready lol...missed it. Cast right back same spot, another hit, missed it. then again. So I tried another overhanging branch for a few casts, and went back to the first one. It hit and I hooked it. Crazy. Then caught two dinks and 2 turtles. Moved to the pond across the street (haven't caught anything there but a 4 foot gator that gave me a run for my money. It even ate a bobber and kept coming after my weightless fluke. It attacked it and after I realized it wasn't a bass hung up in the thick weeds, cut the line. Then retied and caught a gill on the yum worm. So I feel like I got my mojo back, and FINALLY learned something about using plastics...Mainly from reading posts and articles here. 5 day streak, tomorrow I'll try to make it 6. If anyone from around here wants to bank fish with me, let me know. It's a great little quiet spot behind a business park, and the workers there come out and feed the turtles. We strike up some great conversation too. I have a few other places also, and I'd love to meet some local fishing buddies!
  14. I'm not optimistic about getting it back but I don't give up hope. it was 3 weeks ago. I've posted on FB and local craigslist but no luck.
