  1. The area I fish in the northeast has smaller bodies of water and would like some advice on breaking down ponds and lakes via maps. They differ quite a bit from the the huge impoundments in other places, there might be only one point on the whole lake. My fishing time is limited and would like to narrow down the odds a bit. The maps for most of these places are pretty rudimentary and I’m fishing from a kayak with a fish finder. I’ve included an example
  2. Sierra trading post has Daiwa fuego reels for 59$ and lews laser Sg rods for 29$ right now. https://www.sierratradingpost.com/daiwa-fuego-spinning-reel~p~280rf/?utm_source=GooglePLAs&utm_medium=PaidShopping&utm_term=Daiwa_Fuego_Spinning_Reel&utm_campaign=PCGOOGLES7&currency=USD&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItp_j2uPo1QIVAwxpCh148AKoEAQYASABEgI20fD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&codes-processed=true
  3. Yeah I suppose the conditions would play a major role and probably the sooner you go back ( days vs weeks/months ) the better chance you would have. I set the hook on one yesterday that felt like a dump truck on the end of my line and snapped 12lb braid I can't get it out of my head
  4. Just wondering if anyone has tried or succeeded returning to a spot to try to catch that large fish that you might have lost on a previous trip for whatever reason. I have been keeping notes on some big fish that I have lost recently and was thinking about going back and trying to catch them after they had a chance to cool down so to speak. BTW I mostly fish smaller bodies of water with my kayak so my odds are a little better than someone on Lake Superior LOL.
  5. Thanks glad to be here.
  6. When the rod in your hand gets tangled with a rod on your deck and you jiggle and jiggle until you have to pick up the other rod and THEN it miraculously untangles itself.
  7. Hi everybody, been a lurker here for a while finally decided to join. As my username implies I'm a fat dude who loves fishing and fish mostly from my kayak. I never thought of using a kayak for fishing until quite recently but have realized the endless possibilities of using one. I'm from Rhode Island and have been fishing since I could pick up a rod, not only do I love to do it I also consider my fishing time as therapy for the constant trials and tribulations of being a self employed contractor and sole provider for my family. Well that's basically me in a nutshell and I'm glad to be on board. BTW I don't do well with condescension or pretentiousness I deal with it enough with my business each day.
