  4. He makes great chatter baits too! All are very reasonably priced. He does a top notch job. Send him a pm and tell him what you want, you won't be disappointed. ?
  5. Long time friend, Damon and me today out at Cross Lake in Shreveport. Didn't catch anything, but had a great time hanging out with a friend I've known since the 4th grade.
  6. You got that right. My polarized sunglasses only cost $5 at Wal Mart. Yum brand. The work fine for me. I'd like the chance to fish with at least one experienced angler. I do, however, my best at applying what I learn from this forum, books and videos when I get out to a body of water. Since my move back up here to Shreveport I don't get near the chances to go fishing as I did down in Pineville. Hoping that changes soon. I'm having withdrawls...lol. ?
  7. Not sure if we can use those for bait here in Louisiana. I'll have to check my handbook.

  9. Thank you sir! Indeed it is a requirement to stop and buy fishing stuff when I have the money to do so...lol! ?
  10. Upon arriving in Shreveport, for my move back, we had to pass by Academy on the way to the house. So we stopped there for a little while to browse. Bait monkey got me for a little more than I planned. Was hard to resist due to some of it was on clearance. Ended up getting some Sufix 832 Advanced Superline 30lb braid with GORE performanc fibers, a 3/8oz H2O Express spinnerbait in foxy shad color with a gold willowleaf blade and a nickel Colorado blade, a pack of Strike King Rage Tail 3.75" Rage Swimmers in green pumpkin color, a pack of H2O Express 5/O EWG offset heavy wire hooks and a pack of Eagle Claw size 2 dual lock snaps. Went fishing at the duck pond afterwards and ended up losing my Booyah Pad Crasher sunburn color in a tree on the other side of the duck pond(not used to be able to cast to the other side of ponds like that.. lol). Went back to Academy, on the way to the house, so I could replace it. Picked up the Poppin' version of it instead, it was 3$ cheaper and I've been wanting one anyways and also picked up my first jerkbait an H2O Express Model SJS suspending jerk shad in American shad color. Hoping to get a way out to a body of water today and see if I can catch something to post.
  11. My son fishing with me yesterday morning before I had to leave to come back to Shreveport. Wish we woulda caught something. It was really nice being out at the smaller pond with him though.
  12. Due to matters that were out of my hands, I had to move back up to Shreveport. That being said, before I made the move yesterday, I spent Thursday and Friday fishing the smaller pond. Only caught one each day, but I had a good time anyways. My son came with me for about an hour and a half on Friday and then yesterday before I left to come up to Shreveport my son and I went back to the pond for an hour. Didn't catch anything still had fun. Never caught the big un that is in there. Almost did Wednesday night. I'll have to make a post about that. The pics below are from Thursday and Friday. Hoping to have some latest catch pics from up here soon to post. I'll actually have an opportunity to get out on a boat occasionally now.
  13. Howdy and welcome aboard! ?
  14. My son came fishing with me today. He's not really into fishing at all either, but he used my Lew's spinning rod. First time he's used that kind of gear. He's used to the old school spincast stuff...lol. ?
  15. Didn't have much time this morning at Wally World before work. Been needing to get another one of these so I picked up a 3/8oz white Arkie jig. I was unhappy it didn't have a baitkeeper like my other one had though.
  16. I want some! Lol! ?
  17. Rage Bug or even a Zoom Z Hog may work. Might even try a light weight jig head pushed inside a Tube with the line tie eye out the side of the head with the hook sticking out the bottom and the point along the side(pic below is one I have used effectively it has a shaky head stuck up in it) and drag it really really slow across the bottom.
  18. Not sure what happened to this fish today, but I saw it barely moving and kinda floating in the small pond around 10:30ish this morning. It tried to swim a little but kept floating back on its side. Either it recouped or got eaten by something because later on when I went back by that same area it was gone. Guess it could've sank. Really don't know. The first fish I've seen in this pond besides largemouth bass. Tried looking it up. The closest thing I thought it looked like was a warmouth. Is that what this is?
  19. The small pond I fish mainly at 7am. It was like 31 degrees this morning.
  20. Rode my son's bicycle back to Holloway Outdoors a little while ago. Picked up a 3/8oz V&M Pacemaker pulse swim jig in shadow craw color and a pack of Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craws in green pumpkin.
  21. Looks like you were close to getting an eye like I did the other day. Would've been the same side eye as mine...lol. That bass was really lucky you missed it. ?
  22. That's good to know about Tim Tucker. The book I have by him has secrets from lots of pros. Roland Martin, Rick Clunn, Larry Nixon, Bill Dance, Hank Parker, Guido Hibdon, Gary Klein, Doug Hannon, Shaw Grigsby, Tommy Martin, Ken Cook, Denny Brauer, Jimmy Houston and Rich Tauber. I've only heard of a handful of those guys, but I'm really looking forward to reading that one.
  23. I'm definitely gonna do my best to learn as much as I can from them. Even though I mostly fish ponds, I'm sure I'll be able to use all information in them eventually. That's a long list of books. It would take me a lifetime, almost, to read all of those...lol.
  24. I fish mainly small ponds. I assume I can apply that knowledge to those as well. How do I ask Mr. Hank Parker a question through you, @Glenn?
  25. Yesterday at work my boss man gave me some books he thought I'd be interested in. He was right. I've only just begun reading when I can, so I've still gotta lotta reading to do. The books are: Largemouth Bass from The Hunting and Fishing Library, Proven Strategies For Catching Bass Special Edition from The B.A.S.S., Secrets Of America's Best Bass Pros by Tim Tucker, Lures For Lunker Bass by Bud Andrews and W. Horace Carter, Trophy Bass An Angler's Guide and Angler's Guide To Bass Patterns by Larry Larsen. If I'm not on here as much, been limited lately lots of things going on, it's because I'm all eyes in these books and/or out attempting what I've learned.
