Watching Bass Resource videos on YouTube is how I got involved with this forum. When I can't go fishing for whatever reason(s), I still watch Bass Resource on YouTube. Of course I watch the Pursuit channel and Outdoor channel for Bill Dance Outdoors show, Hook N Look, On The Water with Hank Parker and the MLF tournaments. There's a couple other shows I watch also, just can't think of the names right off hand.

Grabbed a few things when I got off work yesterday. I replaced the 1/2oz breaking bream Project Z that I lost last Tuesday, picked up a 3/8oz black/blue Z-Man Elite chatterbait(lost the skirt on my other one), a pack of 3.75" green pumpkin Rage Swimmers, a pack of VMC 2/O weedless wacky hooks, a pack of Yum 5" chartreuse clear shad Break'N Shad and a pack of H2O Express 5/O heavy wire EWG offset hooks. Last Sunday I picked up a 1/2oz chartreuse sexy shad Project Z, 2 packs of size 2 Eagle Claw dual lock snaps and a pack of 6th Sense Peg-X Stoppers.

Went back to Cross Lake today where I was Saturday. Nothing to brag about. Caught this one on my new chartreuse sexy shad 1/2oz Project Z chatterbait with a Rage Swimmer trailer. Weighed almost a pound at 15oz. I lost my favorite chatterbait today, really sucks. My breaking bream Project Z is gone ? I'll get another one this weekend. Too good of a color. Gotta get another one. ?

Thank You Lord! FINALLY! I caught my first and second bass of 2018. Went to Cross Lake, this past Saturday with my sister and brother-in-law, and fished some cypress trees near the bank. My brother-in-law had a 7/8oz white/pearl/silver Booyah buzzbait with a 3.75" green pumpkin Rage Swimmer trailer tied on and I had a black/chartreuse H2O Express hollow body frog tied on. Within about 15-20 mins my brother-in-law caught a 2lb 12oz bass(not pictured). I hadn't even got a bite yet. So I said if they're biting a buzzbait surely they'll bite my chatterbait. Took off the frog and tied on my breaking bream 1/2oz Project Z with the green pumpkin Rage Swimmer trailer. Within my first 5 casts got my first one when a 1lb 12oz bass hammered the Project Z. She put up a little fight and I got awful close to getting wrapped up around a bridge piling. Was able to keep that from happening. A few more casts later another 1lb 12oz bass clobbered the Project Z. This time she came right on in without much fight at all. I'm off today and plan to go back there in hopes of catching a really big girl. Cross Lake recently started stocking the Florida strain. If nothing else, eventually there will be some big big girls in there. Just hope I'm there catching one of them when the time comes.

That's a nice big girl! Kudos to you for sticking with it and finally landing her! Personally I think you named this post wrong. Anyone that stays at it, no matter how easy or crazy it all goes down and still catches the big un most definitely deserves it. You, young man, deserve it! Good job! ?

Went fishing with my girlfriend Saturday and tried fluorocarbon 8lb test Spiderwire, got it cheap, didn't care for it. It sucked really bad with my spinnining rod and just not good at all on my baitcaster either. Spent most of my time dealing with birdsnests and backlash. Didn't catch nothing, I was so disappointed in how my luck has gone trying to catch a bass this year. Guess I could be trying too hard. I don't know. While I was dealing with my mess, my girlfriend was catching a couple. She caught 2 mud cats in about 30 mins or so. Nothing to really brag about, other than she's only went fishing one time(this year) and caught more fish than I have all year...lol! I shoulda catfished. Oh well I wanna catch a bass! ?

Went by Wally World in Minden Saturday and picked up a Plano 3600 lure box(as you can see I've done packed it with all my jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits in it...lol) for $2.88 on clearance, also got some Spiderwire EZ Fluoro 100% fluorocarbon 8lb 200 yards for $5.00 on clearance(figured I'd try it as a leader for that price, I don't care for it really) and some Eagle Claw Laser 1/8oz brass bullet weights on clearance for $2.88. Then Sunday on my way home from Minden stopped by work and picked up my new 6'6" MHF Lew's Laser TXS Speed Stick and Spool baitcaster(had my eye on it since before I started working there), some 40lb Sufix 832(already spooled on my new Lew's Laser TXS), a pack of Zoom junebug Ol' Monsters and an H2O Express Ultimate Jerk Shad in ghost shad color. My Lord I've seen and stocked a ton of tackle and baits. It's like being a kid in a candy store...lol. It takes a ton of strength to keep from spending all my check there ? I'm hoping to get to go fishing in the morning. I'm off tomorrow. Really wanna cast my new rod and reel and catch me a big un. I'll settle for a dink. Still looking for my first bass of the year. I hear ya. We've been under flood watches and warnings and severe rain warnings the past few days. Still not out of it completely yet.
