  1. Sorry I never got back to you, just saw this. Ended up with the bg and so far I love it. Zero issues with it and it’s very smooth, only smal complaint I could think of is its loud but that might be something else. Actually going to USF for college so I’m glad I got a saltwater reel. Pulled out the old shimano sahara last week and cleaned all the little parts in the AR and it works now! My rod I had with it broke a while ago so I got a SLX rod so the reel better hold up. Found out why it was binding too so if it happens again there’s a fix for it.
  2. Anyone ever try it? Have only ever heard of it with Australian salt guys but they say it’s so great. It’s so expensive I wonder if there’s a good reason
  3. My dad hooked into a freak moby dick last time we were in Florida and it ripped off all the braid and broke at the knot. Don’t think it was a bad knot but who knows. It wouldn’t of mattered because there wasn’t a whole lot of mono and it ripped off all the braid in a few seconds but it could help
  4. Went out and caught a few smallies today. Very happy with my setup. Only thing is I couldn’t find a 300 yd spool of suffix 832 and the 150 wasn’t nearly enough (10 lb) so I had to get power pro again and after handling that suffix, the power pro was pretty stiff
  5. Sent one in on the contact form on your website. Thanks
  6. It was starting to be really hard to turn while fishing salt too. Took it apart to clean and that was fixed but AR broke. I took apart the AR and wiped off all the parts but it still turns backwards. I’m not done with it and will send it in if needed, but what else can I try?
  7. Yeah the bg has 13.2 pounds of drag, Fuego has 22. I have a casting reel with 15 lb drag and I landed a 3 foot shark in like 5 minutes. I’m leaning towards the bg because I’ve read some negative aspects of the magseal and besides the weight I like the bg better.
  8. Just got them in. Love them both and can’t decide which one to keep. The bg is noticeably more “heavy duty” and heavy. Going to have to read up on the maggseal and air rotor because only the Fuego has those.
  9. Does anyone know what the xh means in this? FGLT2500D-XH the one without the xh is on backorder on tackle warehouse. Im ordering both and sending one back. Nevermind it’s different gear ratio.
  10. Well Cabela’s didn’t have either... just the Fuego LT in 4000. Companies wonder why amazon is killing everyone.
  11. Yeah I would think the BG would be a lot better for SW because it’s all aluminum and stuff but with the mag seal maybe they say the Fuego LT is good for salt too. Not really a huge factor if they are both at least good enough to be listed under salt
  12. Yeah I was thinking that same way but I’m just afraid I’ll be using a lighter reel and switch to that and notice how heavy it is. I’m sure I’d be happy with either reel and am probably over thinking it. Why did they have to make the Fuego so ugly compared to the BG lol And I’m planning on pairing this with a Dobyns fury, most likely the 703. Hopefully cabelas has this stuff.
  13. I use the double uni and have never (hate to say this) had a break off. Just got done florida fishing and landed a 3 foot shark with that knot with very heavy drag. Also hooked a tarpon and other big fish with no problem. I try not to get it through the guides not only because of the knot strength but I just don’t like that feeling.
  14. After a few years my last spinning reel’s anti reverse has stopped working and I’m really not sure what to do. I was going to get another spinning setup anyway, so it’s coming sooner. I was originally going to get a Shimano nasci, a charter we were on last year used them and I got one for my dad but I’ve read on here the 2 Daiwa reels are better for the price. I was set on the BG, and am still leaning towards it, but I have read a couple people saying that the Fuego LT is better for bass because it’s lighter. I really like the fact that the BG is all aluminum, but is it worth it for 2 more ounces? I make a few saltwater trips every year so if one is much better suited for salt then that’s a factor. I do most of my fishing for bass and the occasional catfish or other freshwater species. Planning on buying this tomorrow for Sunday fishing so I need to decide soon! Thanks a lot Justin
  15. Interesting. I’ll try making some without paint. It’s been a while since I posted here but I did get some new head cement i made some for a thanksgiving Florida trip. I made them too heavy for where I was fishing so I didn’t get to use them much and didn’t catch anything. As soon as I started making these it started getting cold and I haven’t been able to get out since then, so I still haven’t caught anything on them. I sold a few to my cousin who lives in FL to try for cheap and I just sold a few to my uncle who is giving them to a customer of his. I think my cousin is in a similar situation to what I was in, he fished from docks and inshore piers so he doesn’t have a lot of open water. I only sent him .75 oz and up jigs, maybe I’ll send a few smaller ones for Christmas.
