  1. not enough torque for baits with huge resistance with those smaller spools. Especially the higher gear ratios.
  2. thats a 400..... the 400 has equal cranking power for double cowgirls as the 500?
  3. they do not
  4. Got this little guy on buchertail magnum (double 10s) no problem. Only boated the one fish but bringing in the big blades all day was a breeze. Great reel ?
  5. The beast comes with a non counterweighted jigging handle that has 3 slots. You think on the “longest” handle slot it would make a difference in terms of cranking power compared to the counterweighted handle?
  6. sigh...if only the tranx came in left
  7. but would 27ipt be enough to burn the smaller 8s 7s 6s?
  8. This is more geared towards any musky guys out there but anyone welcome to put in their input. I am looking at 2 different reels for my 9ft hf st croix big nasty. The toro beast in a 61HS 6.2:1 or the 61 4.9:1 . Im mainly throwing inlines blades ranging from 7s to double 10s and the occasional jakes n belivers rubbers and double dawgs. But mainly inlines. What gear ratio would best suit throwing spinners from big 10s to 7s? Will i be able to burn the 7s with the 4.9:1 or will i have too much stuggle rolling 10s on the 6.2:1 ? 61HS 6.2:1 34ipt 61 4.9:1 27ipt
  9. why would i have problems with the reel because its high speed ? i was thinking just to use it for when i get tired from throwing the bigger baits on heavier muskie tackle.
  10. Would a 7'6" HF abu villain and revo rocket reel (not toro rocket) be ideal for throwing smaller muskie lures, swimbaits, mepps or jigs?
  11. What about tying to a hook or snap with the 60# fc ? What knot?
  12. sweet , thanks boys !
  13. wasnt tying the fg properly before but i figured it out, btw do u use 80# for pike or muskies? How u think 60# would hold up? First time using fluro for a tooth leader
  14. ya couldnt find anything close to 60lb fluro though. Tried those knots but the 60#seemed too thick to slip the knot complete. Usually on a uni to uni i use 8 wraps around the fluro and then 5 wraps around the braid. What if i tried going 6 and 3 or 4 and 2 ?
  15. Anyone know a good knot for 50lb braid to 60lb fluro ?
  16. Going northern ontario this week. Many canadian shield lakes to fish ill take some pics and send here
  17. Going back sometime in october, apparently cold weather is coming earlier this year
  18. Whos talking about your fish lmao , you said that you were fishing in slop. I said thats nothing compared to the lake i was at But nice kayak
  19. Prime bass fishing as in numbers of fish. Average size 1.5-2 lbs. As for using 2/0 hooks and 1/8 jigs if u actually read i was pitching under docks and downsized because whatever was biting wasnt getting hooked up. And ended up being a sunfish. All other rigs used in the open were with 1.5 oz tungsten. But by looking at your pictures of "slop" compared to this lake thats nothing
  20. Yes thank you, i think id rather not spend a whole day chopping through weeds with my boat to find maybe a few bass. Too much trouble for not enough reward. This lake isnt know for trophy sized fish anyways so i think i will be going back to other lakes i know or trying less invasive plant choked lakes. But seriously all your tips were helpful. Thanks
  21. explain when pitching texas rigged plastics is "bad" for weeds and cover.
  22. The tips are obvious, if you read my posts above you will see that ive already done that. What im trying to get at is when an entire lake is weeds it may be possible that bass do not thrive in them.
  23. that video the guy is in weedless water pitching into weeds, the lake i was in was all weed like there was no clear opening at all , apparently the lake has a weed problem that boats come in to remove them in september - october.
  24. yes that looks promising, but what im talking about is submerged weeds that fill the whole entire lake. 7 feet of water with 6.5 feet tall submerged weeds and bush over 300 acres Where is that? Almost looks like rice lake except the weeds in there are all different like a big salad
