  1. That field goal block (and the punt block) decided the game!
  2. What are you using for power?
  3. As off putting as I find him on another forum, Kevin at K&K Kustomz has about the best prices on PowerPoles I have found. He will make sure you get the right bracket. He sold me a pair of Blades and the sandwich brackets for $3,500 in March of ‘19.
  4. You were not supposed to do this. You were my inspiration to keep my kayak simple. Really the last line of defense between the bait monkey and me adding electronics to my kayak. Hahaha Looks nice! also looking forward to that video of what you’ve learned about how to efficiently rig your kayak.
  5. Yep, all of them I have owned. At first I thought it was a quality control/water temp issue. For $6 and being a store brand jerk bait, I have no idea how reliable the sink vs. float situation is with them, but I do know, for $6 might be worth a look.
  6. Considering walleye and those brown footballs tend to overlap in their dinner choices, I suspect a similar or even increased effectiveness for the brown species. Haven’t thrown them in waters that have smallmouth bass.
  7. Might consider the Cabela’s Mean Eye Walleye series jerkbaits. They sink… …and… …catch fish, big ones.
  8. The skulling ? paddle has fallen out of favor since collecting the scalps of your foes is no longer acceptable. (Couldn’t help myself). I don’t know much about sculling, do you mean a hand-type paddle? Or the form of the blade in your reference.
  9. I am going to blame dictation for my original error. However, in reality it was just a hurriedly-typed post. Good catch. I am limiting my purchase to bass pro. specific paddle recommendations, im not really looking for unless they are offered at Bass Pro. More looking for concepts/principles to keep in mind when looking. Alerting me to the importance of sizing so far has been helpful.
  10. Its probably a big waste of money but I am going to get this YakGear Backwater Assassin Carbon Fiber Paddle. I'll do a review. I will agree its hot penny to drop for a kayak paddle, but since I've got to use the points, why not? https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/yakgear-backwater-assassin-carbon-fiber-hybrid-kayak-paddles
  11. Anything special to consider when choosing a kayak paddle? Seems like there are lots of options. I’ve been looking at Bass Pro / Cabela’s because I have a lot of money in gift cards to use. Do people tend to get a hand paddle and the longer paddle? My kayak is a pedal drive.
  12. In my opinion, the most component of “affording” a boat at 22 is paying cash. At $2,800 per month, depending on what region you live in, I don’t imagine you have a ton left over every month if you are saving aggressively (as I also highly recommend at age 22). Determine your price range and set a savings goal for a boat. Mid-90’s Ranger boats can be had at <$8,000. (I only use Ranger as an example because I was looking for a boat in that price range a few years ago and it seemed that the Ranger R-series boats were commonly found in that price range and had good reviews, some of the best). Only after you meet your savings goal start actually looking for a boat. Alternatively, save yourself a lot of expense for storage and boat maintenance and get a nice pedal drive kayak such as an Old Town Sportsman. Much less expensive to store and maintain. Once again though, set a savings goal and buy with cash. At 22 please don’t go into debt for a bass boat.
  13. I like tech. All kinds. fishing tech. Computer tech. Operating room tech. I think it’s fun. I have all the latest and greatest gizmos and gadgets on my boat that I want. Hope to continue to. I use it when I want or ignore it when I don’t. Sometimes I still fish from bank with just a pole or two and still have a great time and still catch fish. I never have cared about professional or tournament fishing so I really don’t care what they use.
  14. The Titanic was also an “unsinkable ship”. Wear and tear will destroy even the highest quality of anything. Pretty simple to protect it.
  15. Well I’m definitely part of their mailing list and have spent thousands with them… but no email ?‍♂️
  16. Don’t know yet. Just ordered
  17. I went with the Boonedox landing gear because it was 20% off and seemed to have good reviews, although the few videos I watched did seemed to be paid promotions.
  18. I agree! heavier than I anticipated. I used to be a fair amount stronger and could have probably thrown it around ok Now I’m definitely going to need some sort of cart for it. Anyone using a cart for one of these? If so, which one?
  19. Wow! That’s terrible I have had a great experience with Daiwa customer service. Sent me know rods after sending them in when guides broke off and sent me replacement parts for reels for no cost. I sure hope what you’re experiencing isn’t the typical experience and that they work it out for you.
  20. How hard is the 106 to load on top of a vehicle? I currently drive a 4 door Colorado with a topper on the bed and keep a rather large tool box in the bed, so not sure how well it would fit in there. I do have roof racks though and am strongly considering the 106.
  21. And the Lil Man!
  22. Joined the 3 shot club (booster) on Sunday. Fevered to 102, felt miserable and had to step out from work on Monday. That was not fun. Went home, took some acetaminophen and ibuprofen and slept from about 9-2 and felt much better. Glad that’s over.
  23. Hoping to catch some crappie this fall / winter. Have a couple different colors of “crappie tubes” in the way of gear but but done really know what of much else to try. Minnows, of course, too. anyone else have any tips round these parts?
  24. I think it will be self limiting. If fishing becomes “too easy” less people will do it.
