My favorite lake would probably be Silver Lake in Eastern Washington, it’s not a big lake by any means. I struggle finding fish in the lake that are of good size, it holds 6 pounders but I only seem to catch 2’s not that I’m complaining but I’d like to be able to catch some nice toads to.

  1. I am having a hard time picking out my rods that I have already and using the right type of fishing for that rod, an example would be using a rod that is not strong enough in the back bone to get a solid hook set on a square bill. Little things like that seem to mess me up because I have never gotten a clear answer for what I should actually use per rod. Here is a list of my rods that I have for this season. Casting Rods: 1) 7'0'' MH 1/4- 1 1/4oz 2) 7'0' MH 1/4- 1 1/4oz 3) 6'6'' M 1/4- 5/8oz 4) 7'0'' M 1/4- 5/8oz 5) 7'3'' H 3/8- 1 1/2oz 6) 7'6'' MH 1/2- ***/8oz Winch Series 7) 6'6'' M 1/4- 3/4oz Spinning Rods: 8) 7'0'' MH 3/8- 3/4oz 9) 6'11'' M 1/4- 1/2oz 10) 7'0'' M 1/4- 3/4oz 11) 6'6'' M 1/4- 1/2oz 12) 6'6' M 1/4- 5/8oz As of right now I use; 1) Swim jig/ 15+ deep cranks 2) Chatter Bait 3) Tubes/ Flukes 4) Power shot/ Texas Rigs 5) Frogs/ Glide baits 6) Cranks/ Jerkbaits 7) Small Sqaurebills ( Bx Brats) 8) Shakey Heads/ Texas Rigs 9) Drop shot/ Neko 10) Underspins 11) Wacky Rigs 12) Small Topwaters What are your thoughts on how I rig my rods or how can I improve my set ups, any input will be helpful! thanks.
  2. I want to get better at finding fish in general, but I struggle the most from thawed ice till about the spawn. I don’t have the best electronics in my boat so that is part of it however I’m determined to get more proficient at locating them. People say cold water small mouth fishing and 90% of the time it’s down south were the water that is “cold” is still in the 40’s or higher. I’m in Washington, as of mid October our water temps have not seen the high 30’s. So my question is without nice electronics, what depth range should I look for, and what type of bottom? Note; I can’t identify weed lines on my electronics so that answer won’t really do me much good. Thanks!
  3. Lately I’ve been looking at getting some tungsten, but is it really worth it? Pros: smaller, heavy, more feel. Cons: much more expensive. That is just some of the info I’ve been given on tungsten. What are your thoughts about the debate?
  4. So I have been doing some deep and thick research on fish finders, I have narrowed it to 2 brands. Garmin and Hummingbird, the two from HB are from the helix series. The helix 5 chirp si gps g-2 the helix 7 chirp gps/sonar the other would be from garmin It is the striker 7sv. Have anyone used any from the 3 options? Just need some more experience answers and not just the typical I’m sponsored by them so I’ll try to sell you that. Thanks for the help.
  5. Been looking at the field and stream shadow caster 123 yak mainly because of its features. The stability to stand, adjustable seat, and the ability to cut through water fairly well. Only down fall is that it is $800. Anybody found the features of that yak for any less ( not used ) I’d greatly appreciate it if you had any better options.
  6. Um, same here looking for some ponds. Fair ways golf course near Cheney has 4 pound average large mouth, how ever the owner is super picky on who he lets fish them. I had permission two years ago to fish them and now I cant get a old of him to ask if I can go out for the day to pond hop.
  7. Just looking for more people to bass fish with, in Eastern Washington.
  8. Hey, new to bass resource. So far I'm liking it. My main problem I've noticed is that when I go shopping for new baits I just grab stuff I've seen people use in videos... Like ltb's and none of it seems to really work here in Washington. Like go into the crank bait isle..... Do you buy lipless , square bills, mid divers and deeps? Same fir any other bait style in stores. Anybody have ideas on what's worth getting and what's not worth getting? Keep in mind we have gills, perch, and pumpkin seeds for our "bait fish". So buying a shad colored bait doesn't help me any. I hope this makes sense, any help will be appreciated.
