  1. Vicious NO Fade Braid in Hi vis yellow. Color never fades and the line is small diameter vs strength. Low noise going through guides.
  2. I purchased a pair of mini bolt cutters made for fishing and sacrifice my hooks now. A cut off hook gives the fish a lot better odds of survival. If they look to be in to bad of shape when I bring them in, They go into the live well.
  3. Sorry to hear that. Hope that your exchange goes smooth.
  4. I had a pair of GLoomis 843 GLX rods, 1 older series and the new series. Bothe with Diawa Steez svtw 's. Gave the older model to my brother so that he would get to experience what a nice rod feels like. Had it for a month and some one decided they needed it more than him. He went and replaced it with a new 843 GLX. I plan on getting a new 843 Conquest.
  5. I have the conquest 843s , 842s and the 903c as well as the GLX 842, 843 & 844. To put this in prospective, the conquest are a little more powerful than their GLX counter parts. They have no trouble with throwing above or below their stated ratings. At first I thought the cnq 843s was going to be a little to heavy for throwing 5 inch senko's. But it turned out to be perfect. I use 20lb viscous no fade braid with a 5 to 7 ft leader and love it. It had no troubles with a 9.2 lb bass on it's first outing, and many more bass since. My favorite rod is the G Loomis 843 GLX. I have had 3 and plan to add the 843 conquest.
  6. I have a Glx 844 and like a 6.5 to 7.5 oz reel on it for balance. I have a wide assortment of reels. High end to basic, both Daiwa and Shimano and ended up with a Curado K on this rod. I will be buying a Bantam MGL to try as well.
  7. The 734 is to light for what you are wanting. I like rods on the lighter end for most techniques, but the 734 is not a heavy or medium heavy cover rod. I use both the 734 and 735. The 735 is a much better pitching and light flip stick.
  8. I use 6lb and 8lb Tatsu on my 2500 and 3000 size reels. Some have 15 or 20 lb braid with top shots of FC. I am now trying P Line tactical in 6lb and am liking it so far.
  9. I hope you get some replies to this question as I would like info on this also.
  10. Had a brain fart. I was thinking the Champion series I just take mine into my dealer. No shipping charges. All my rods a Champion series, so the cost is less their also.
  11. They are both nice. I have spinning rods in the IMX pro, Shimano Conquest and Dobyns. The Dobyns is the better value in a spinning rod. Very good sensitivity and a lot better warranty.
  12. I write right handed, eat with a fork in my right hand and bat left handed, shoot left handed. Some things it does not matter witch hand I use, like casting. It did take awhile to learn to use my left thumb to control the bait caster spool. I predominantly use my right hand to reel bait casters and my left for spinning. I see this as an advantage because no matter what the orientation of the boat, it is still relativity easy for me to make a good cast.
  13. Just wish they made it in a high vis yellow.
  14. Another Vicious No Fade guy here. It does what the name says and is a very good line.
  15. Very Nice, congratulations!
  16. I usually release all bass I catch. But when I decide on having a dinner or two I will keep bass in the 15 or 16 in range and up to about 3 lbs. When I fish for crappie I will keep most of my limits. They taste great.
  17. She measured 23 3/4 long. Did not get a girth.
  18. Had a great day at Clear Lake today! This girl was caught in about 8 ft of water. Gear used was a G Loomis Conquest 843S , Shimano Stella Fi 2500 with 20lb Vicious No Fade Braid and 12 LB Tatsu leader and a owner #1 wacky hook. This was the 3rd fish caught on this combo. She took off when I set the hook and peeled off drag pretty good. I knew I had a good fish on, but was surprised at her size when I got her to the boat. Took a couple of pictures and put her into the live well for awhile so we could go find someone with a scale. I didn't have one in the boat! Found another angler with a digital scale, took 2 weight readings and took her back to where she was caught and released her . She swam of immediately.
  19. I fish the same waters that you do Ken. The first 4 rods that fishnkamp suggested are a very versatile line up the would do you good on the waters you stated. However I would suggest the 736cb glass in place of the 5 power as you listed clear lake and the delta in your list. I would add a DC705 cb or DC705 CB Glass as a 5th rod, the reason is that they are a very good rod for every thing from jerk baits to top water and spinner baits. Gary prefers the 704 for rip baits, but the two I have listed I feel are better for crossover applications. I have the DC705 cb glass and feel it is a perfect rod for the waters that we fish.
  20. 8 years USMC medically retired
  21. I have made over 135 purchases on ebay. All were good to go. Just pay attention to the listing details and ask questions of the seller if you need to. The good sellers will get back to you within a couple of days. Look at their feed back, If there have been problems. Skip that seller.
  22. Been to BPS twice so far during this sale. Picked up 2 Lowrance HDS 9's . With the 3x rewards and bonus bucks plus sale price, I basicly got 2 for the price of one. $3216.00 out the door and $720.00 back on gift cards and points. I also picked up some of the suffix 832 braid and misc. Will be going back a couple of more times before it is over.
  23. VICIOUS no fade braid is my go to. Thin for LB rating , no bleed and it cast great.
