  1. You can get a Fuego CT from several different highly reputable sellers for $68. That's a much better deal than losing $60 and getting nothing.
  2. I haven't found my favorite spinning rod yet. I have found my favorite reel. I cannot envision me buying any spinning reel other than a Fuego for the remainder of my fishing days. I've tried quite a few spinning reels and it's the best reel for it's price by far (and you can get them on sale frequently). I am not (nor will I ever likely be) a good enough fisherman to need anything more expensive than a Fuego. Although @A-Jay posted some to-die-for set-ups in this thread...but if I had them I'd be afraid to take them out of the house.
  3. This is true, though. Have you ever seen a map? Totally flat.
  4. +1 on what @IgotWood said. I seek out those trees when fishing from shore and I fish them with T-rigs very "gently" with good success. If you feel a hang then give it some slack, jiggle it, gently work it through. Most of my hits have come when I've slowly pulled the worm over a branch or trunk and let it fall on the side closest to me. Boom! I also usually fish this with Sufix 832 as my main line and a flouro leader. That helps when I do have to break it off.
  5. All Booyah Toad Runners are $5.99 and FREE SHIPPING from https://www.presleysoutdoors.com/ . They have quite a few lures that are free shipping even if you just order one. Which, of course, I didn't.
  6. My dad's lures. I have just a few. They're just for lookin' at.
  7. That's a good price. I also fish lefty and current price for a Fuego CT on ebay is $65. I have a Tatula SV, a Tatula CT, and now the Fuego CT. I would (and will) buy any of them again. I expect to buy another Fuego and another SV within the year. I recommend you grab that one. The Tatula CT is prettier but the Fuego performs the same (as far as my abilities go) and I wouldn't pay extra for the Tatula CT again.
  8. Okeechobee and co-angler on an average day with @A-Jay so he can show me how to catch those beautiful, big, fat smallies.
  9. I loved pond fishing with one of dad's two cane poles. Every time we see a cane pole in any store my wife wants to buy it. I've tried to tell her a 27ft cane pole doesn't fit in the rod locker.
  10. Time to run out and get a lottery ticket...

  12. Nice catch!
  13. @TOXIC Gives a great description. The first thing that popped into my head (as a rookie fisherman) was what @nascar2428 said. I search every time I'm out for that line of weeds just a few feet off shore. I put my boat parallel and throw a frog (sometimes a Spook) in the space between the weeds and shore (inside edge of weeds). It is always, always, always good for fish.
  14. I like to wear them as a mustache when I go out to bars to meet women. That and a Texas rig are both extremely effective. Note: Don't use the bubblegum. It just looks stupid. Great for the T-rig though.
  15. Is this suitable for a baitcaster? The Nanofil of the baitcasting world? Or is this just just for spinning reels like Nanofil?
  16. Hey that's why we're on here! So occasionally someone else can be the dummy rather than me every single time! Thanks for posting this. We will all remember it.
  17. Just found this the other day and, so far, I really like it. Just thought I'd share it. The top compartment acts as a lid for the bottom compartment. Convenient carry handle and perfect size for the tackle locker in the boat.
  18. I own one Fuego CT, two Tatula CTs, and a Tatula SV. The Fuego and Tatula cast and perform the same (at least as much as I can use a reel and I am not a pro by any means). The Tatulas are much prettier. The SV significantly outperforms both CTs in some specific areas. I'm not upset that I spent $20 more on my Tatula CTs (I got them on sale) than I did on my Fuego. That being said, my next purchase will be another Fuego or another SV depending upon my needs. And may I add, that's a heckuva lot of research you did. That's impressive. I hope you're feeling better now...?
  19. So maybe you need to think even more seriously about this if the is guy really is your friend. If he is that large then he has a whole bunch of potentially fatal health problems already in the works whether he knows it or not. This boat subject may be a good way to bring up a tough subject with your friend and save his life.
  20. Don't! It's not as easy as it sounds looking at an oblique angle toward a reflective surface (water). I've wasted some time throwing at carp. Hopefully they are bass and, if so, you'll definitely get them with help from all these guys.
  21. This is good to know. What happens when they are in boxes?
  22. The smiley faces are killin' me! ?
  23. You guys are making this tough! I'm not anywhere near an Academy so I can't get one in my hand to feel it for myself. I appreciate the input.
  24. Hey @Arcs&sparks , is this a terminal gauge-size problem?
  25. Well don't be too impressed. I'm just regurgitating information I've received going to classes and seminars put on by many major gun manufacturers over the past 20 years. But I've met some incredibly smart engineers, machinists and metallurgists!
