  1. I have the new Levante shaky head rod paired with a Vanford 2500. Very nice combo, super light. Stradic Ci4+ is another option, but i'd go with the Vanford if you can afford it.
  2. I've used their discount codes before on Megabass, you will see the discount reflected in the cart. It is not a semi-mystery like TW where it just appears on the invoice. Just ordered 2 MB 110 +1 jr's, got $5 off each one, free shipping and no sales tax. Total came out to $29.98.
  3. This is exactly how it works and comes up every time there is a TW sale. You will not see the discount in cart or anywhere until after you order and get the confirmation email. I've ordered numerous shimano reels in the past and the sale discount is applied. Yes, it's odd. Yes, it scares some people away. No, TW will not screw you over. If they don't give you a discount on the MB/AFTCO/Loomis/Shimano thing you ordered, just email or call them and cancel it.
  4. Amazon has the large size (40 bag) Plano KVD Wormfile Speedbag on sale for $11.47 with free prime one-day shipping. TW has it for $14.99 and BP has it for $12.99. It isn't much, but it's something... https://www.amazon.com/Plano-Speedbag-Premium-Tackle-Organization/dp/B078LGPD67?ref_=ast_sto_dp
  5. Pretty sure you can't stack the 20% off, it specifically states that trailers are excluded and that it cannot be used with other discounts. Still a solid deal at $270 though.
  6. It worked for me, worth a try, you can always call and cancel. Got a free megabass sticker as well.
  7. Megabass is included in the TW sale! Confirmation email showed $60 off the $299 Orochi rod purchased last night.
  8. For older Minn Kota trolling motors with Copilot, they used to have a small remote that you could mount to a fishing rod. See picture below. They stopped making the holder and changed the design of the remote on the newer models. You can't find these things anywhere and if you do they are going for over $10 a piece. It's literally a 25 cent piece of plastic, probably less. I was thinking you could 3D print these, but i don't know much about 3D printing or how tight the tolerances are. It would need to be pretty precise in order to hold the remote properly.
  9. You are correct, it doesn't work during a sale. I'm almost positive it did in the past, but maybe not.
  10. LTBSAVESQ1 Just placed an order at TW and it worked.
  11. This is very interesting. So from a profitability standpoint, wouldn't TW prefer to drop ship as opposed to storing rods in a warehouse and shipping themselves? Or do they get a better deal if they order in bulk from the manufacturer?
  12. Check out the Jackall Rhythm Wave 2.8 swimbait as well. They have been working really well for me this year on a small guppy head. More durable than the keitech, different tail action, and more of a wobble. Slightly cheaper too.
  13. I have a NuCanoe Frontier 12 with a trolling motor on the back. It's super stable for sure, but a pain to load and unload from the bed of a pickup, really needs to be on a trailer. Also, controlling the boat with just a rear trolling motor is not super easy, having it up front would make a big difference. I was thinking about getting a Bonafide as well for floating rivers and small ponds but keeping the NuCanoe for lakes. I've been looking at the Old Towne Topwater PDL as well. The other option is getting a 2019 Hobie Pro Angler. The Lowrance ready retractable transducer pod is ingenious. Hobie seems to be one of the leaders in innovation when it comes to kayaks. The only downside is the price, but like most things in life, you get what you pay for.
  14. Anyone doing well at Back Bay this spring? Just read an article (https://kayakanglermag.com/stories/conservation/the-rebirth-of-legendary-back-bay-bass-fishery/) and it sounds like it has made a big comeback. I'm in Richmond so it would probably involve an overnight stay/camping or a long day of driving. Any decent campgrounds in the area?
  15. This made me laugh. I did a float with a buddy from Maidens to Watkins and we totally underestimated how long it would take. Thought we could do it in 6-8 hours, way wrong. Spent the last hour just paddling our kayaks so he could make it back in time to pick his kid up at daycare. Multiple lessons learned on that trip...
