Well what you see in the picture is maybe a bass pro shop 10 in the middle and the back hook is the original vmc? 12. The back is definitely smaller now that I have it home.

Went to bass pro shop to get a new hook for my son's Pointer 48. We don't get to fish much, maybe 8-10 hours a year, and mostly from the bank. But this Pointer 48 is my son's #1 hard bait fish catcher with 6 fish, even a 1.5 lb bass. His next best is just 2 fish. Of course rubber ants and bream poppers catch more than that. Hooks got bendy much like Rapala hooks, probably from tree limbs not in the water. Went to Bass pro shop, guy showed me how to do it, but he put a size 10 on, at the time it looked right but now I think it's too big and we needed a size 12. Can I have a 10 and 12? I think this would unbalance the lure. Can someone recommend me a solid size 12 treble hook to put on this lure? Any help appreciated.

Gonna go fishing with my dad in a boat. I usually fish from shore in little ponds and catch small fish. Water is decently clear maybe 5-7 feet. Lake has surprisingly little weeds due to carp and such. We will do some trolling with crankbaits. We will catch some bass this way. After going last time, I bought a several deep cranks, though I split them up between me and my son. Thinking about my last trip, I'm think a rockcrawler could do well. A smaller lure that dives around 11-12 feet. However, my only Rockcrawler is fiery red and orange, maybe a Delta Craw. I've never had alot of faith in red. Now watching too much you tube, tubers say red is not so good in fall, go with a shad pattern. Note this is for starters, I can eventually use 4 or 5 different lures trolling maybe 30 mins each. So, the question is: If you had just ONE Rockcrawler to use next week and it was fiery red/orange, would you go with it, or instead use a Strike King 5XD Crystal Shad or a Cloud 9 C10 in a shad pattern. How important is the color here? Note - does anyone else have just ONE Rockcrawler ? Thanks!

Ok thanks I was successful! (Fine print - it's so embarrassing just like Grover at the end of the Monster book I pulled the rubber too hard and the legs came all the way out and I had to go to you tube and tie fishing line on the end and reinsert the legs but I got them in)

My son was using and had a small one on but now a knot? on the frog's right skirt came out. Is there any way to get it back in? Should I just use it anyway - my son said the frog kept rolling to the side after that. Or throw it away? I will try to attach a picture. Thanks!

Ok I went to ebay and ordered a Storm Sub Wart (04) gray shad. Solid looking color for me. FYI we get out to the pond and we only fish 2.5 hours before it gets dark and we panic need to catch fish now so we tend to stick with our main colors. The lure has to look like the water! It has to be brown! Like Pointer Brownie color or such.

Oklahoma Mike, we do actually each have a Pompadour but we just use spincast reels and maybe 8 pound test line. Maybe two years ago we threw a Pompadour right off the line on a cast. My sons' go to lure is a Pointer 45, tiny. He uses it with a snap and he catches fish with it including his personal best last year maybe 1.5 lbs. So we're looking small lures. I also use a small jerkbait, a small Live Target Dace is my #1 and Pointer 65 Brownie color 2nd choice along with other Pointer 65s. That said, I researched the Waddle Bats and they look way cool! I've got to get one my self. I was gonna order two! BTW, you didn't see anything or hear anything. If anyone asks they accidentally sent me en extra one. Unfortunately I SNOOZED! I saw good colors and when I went to order the next day most were gone! So I just ordered my son the frog color. I got it today, and was quite surprised, it looks really impressive. Well built, darker than the picture which is good, heavier than it looks. Can't wait to try it! I've go to get me one! Thanks for the tip!

Deleted Account, thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately finding those two are hard. SSR I can find on Ebay for over $30 including overseas shipping. They have Russian versions a little cheaper but I don't think I should buy a Russian lure. The Bandit Footloose is easier to find but still pricey. Typically around $24-36 if shipping is included. Amazon had one but reviewers were not kind to it and calling it 'junk' compared to 'Pre-Pradco versions' of the same Footloose lure. I will be on the lookout for them though, the Footloose looks perfect. Thanks! Mike

Bluebasser, the Wakebull appears to be an excellent choice. 70mm might be a bit too big, so I ordered one off ebay at 60 mm. Unfortunately color choice was poor, only Chartreuse and the Chrome, so i went with Chrome Black. Thanks! Mike

I want to buy my son a wakebait. This is for when we fish from shore at the pond and the weeds get just a bit too high. If we catch weeds, it's a pile of green muck that you try to pull off but only get half of it off then next pull half of what's left, etc. What I would like - a lure that looks like a crankbait (1 minus-ish) - prefer a smaller lure, 2.5 inches may be just a tad too big - want a lure that will hopefully catch fish just being reeled in steady making a wake - want a lure that can stay on the top at a medium or low speed but maybe dive a few inches if reeled in faster - want the lure to be available on TW or Hookp now so I can order - preferably less than $20 and more than $6 - prefer not another (1 minus) Was looking at KVD Wakebait it's doable a tad long but will it dive too deep? Was looking at OSP Buzzin Crank on Hookp, this could work. I myself have a Jackall 0 Footer that I think fits this bill but maybe it's not being made anymore. Any help appreciated! Thanks! Mike

Don't apologize Wizzlebiz, you did good and your heart is in the right place. When Harold said "I have never, nor would I ever attempt to make anyone look stupid, here or anywhere. Sorry YOU took it like that.", I would take that as offensive. He says he will never make anyone look stupid and then tries to make you look stupid. And me too! I thought the same thing when I read his post. So I reported him.

Live Target has some good lures. To me 2 of them are best of type : Hollow Body Frog Shallow Bluegill crankbait. These are like the ones Bill Dance always uses when kids come on but his are Rebel, but these little realistic crankbaits are very good. Then for me - Their lipless crankbait, the Golden Shiner is my #1 lipless, but I haven't tried many. Also, I used the small one for success for saltwater stripers on Governors Island NY. But have you ever held one of these things? Oh my, they are impressive, you just know you'll catch fish on them. The tiny Dace jerkbait is my #1 current stat leader with 5 fish. I don't fish much, usually a two hour shot 4 times a year fishing for tiny fish, but this one has surprisingly worked. Doesn't always seem to run right, I'd rather use a Pointer 65, but hey it looks just like the water color when its in the water. I've also heard good things about their bigger Perch jerkbait. That's my take.

Those never work here on Old Road Lake as they cant seem to get across the road.
