  1. the ones I ordered just shipped today. Which is a lot later then Tackle Warehouse originally said.Hope to have them soon.
  2. That would be awesome especially the crawfish boil. I miss the boudin and cracklings more then anything (not sure if I spelled that right).
  3. I just hope the panthers get back to winning this year. Last year was a major let down.
  4. Welcome to the forum. I also live in va on the other end of the James from you a few hours away. I lived in Gulfport ms for five years and I really miss the Louisiana food.
  5. I use a drop shot to much. I have one tied already. Just looking for a second soft plastic. After it gets dark jigs are killer here. The bass come up in the shallows and eat crawfish.
  6. I don't fish any lakes where there are an abundance of big tournaments. I fish some smaller tournaments, and even when other small tournaments Im not involved in are going on I won't cut anyone off. However if someone is pleasure fishing, and I am fishing a tournament I wont cut them off either. If I was fishing during a big tournament I would not impede by fishing around someone intentionally. If I was somewhere fishing, and they pulled up on me I am not going to pack my stuff and leave. I don't think someone fishing a tournament has any more right to a spot then anyone else, but you should still be courteous. As far as comparing it to playing catch on a football field during an NFL game I think you might go to jail for that, but its not illegal to keep fishing a spot if a tournament fisherman pulls up on you.
  7. I was actually debating a tube also. The only reason I was leaning more towards a lizard is when I was younger (before I started wanting to fish tournaments) we used to wear them out on live lizards. Side question how does everyone rig their tubes also. This lake is unique there is no grass thanks to carp, and its mainly rock or sandy bottoms. Which would you prefer lizard or tube? Has anyone ever carolina rigged a tube?I was actually debating a tube also. 8. I am fishing a local tournament tomorrow evening from 6 to midnight. I have been catching some fish on drop shots, but want another soft plastic alternative. I have some 6 and 8 inch lizards. Generally I carolina rig them, but was just wondering how everyone else fishes them. This lake is deep. Usually you are in 30 feet of water 5-10 feet off the bank. The other day when I was up there water temp was 84. Air temp has been in the 90s all week, so it may be warmer by now. I will have rods with other things, but was wondering how everyone else rigs their lizards. I searched the forum, and didn't really find what I was looking for.
  9. A. Defoe B.Lefebre C. Martens D. Horton E Grigsby
  10. Biggestt hing with topwater is don't set the hook when you see the bite. You have to wait until you feel it.
  11. I have a orra winch on a abu Garcia veracity 7'11". It will cast a long ways and it is easy on you throwing it all day. I would reccomend the setup to anyone. I mainly use it for deep diving crankbaits. Now if I could just catch some fish on crankbaits lol
  12. I would go with a cheap catfish combo and get some heavy braid.
  13. I have a pair of Oakley with the deep water prism polarized lenses and really like them.
  14. Ive been catching them on dropshot in the day time and jigs at night. Water temp was 85 yesterday when I was at the lake. Caught 2 smallies and 1 largemouth on a 4.5 inch rob worm on a drop shot.
  15. I have some DT14's and 16's, and I haven't had any problems with them at all. No broken bills or paint chipping. They look great in the water too.
  16. primetime they are actually only around $9.00. I am excited to try them when they get here. I will try to leave a good review after I get to use them some. The lake I fish has been very tough lately. Today is the first time Ive caught any fish in the past three outings. Maybe these will help out some.
  17. Has anyone seen these yet? I got an email about them today, and preordered a couple of from Tackle Warehouse. They are supposed to be shipped July 24th. They are supposed to stop on a dime and shimmy a little before stopping. I know jerbaits are primarily good in the Spring, but the lake I primarily fish has been tough, so I think I am going to give them a shot as soon as I get them. If anyone else gets any of them let me know here how you like them.
  18. I looked up the transoptic from what I read it doesn't work under a black light. If it does please let me know.
  19. Does anyone use clear blue florescent line all the time? I keep only certain rods with it for night fishing. Tonight I had a reel break, and I was with someone else. My other rod didn't have florescent line on it, so I had to strip that reel and then swap the florescent line onto this reel. If I had it on all of my reels I wouldnt have had any problems, or wasted time. Just wondering if anyone else uses it for everything, and if so how does it work?
  20. In the 20 dollar range I don't think you will see a huge difference between glasses. The best lenses I have used for seeing fish so far are Oakleys with the Prizm deep water polarized lenses. It is like seeing everything in hd and they don't change the way everything looks either.
  21. Welcome and thank you for your service.
  22. caught a 3 inch bluegill on a 3 and a half inch popper last week.
  23. jet skis who think they should run down the bank 20 feet beside your boat while your trying to fish.
  24. happy 4th of July everyone. No bass fishing today, but we spent about 8 hours at the beach then fireworks over the bay.
  25. I know someone caught a bass with a distinct mark a week later out of the same spot alway across a lake from where it was released in a tournament. I think in some cases they stay in the general area. Never hurts to try.
