Awesome, I kayak fish in the area too. Do you have a Clark's fishing guide? If not, I highly recommend picking one up. There are tons of places around where you live, some of which were already mentioned. You could also try some of the ponds in Dunbarton, Heads pond in Hooksett or Little Massabesic in Auburn. Tower Hill Pond is fishable from kayak as well if you have some way to cart it in; just don't step in the water or you'll get a ticket!

This is my exact experience in the couple of times I have been to Horseshoe in Merrimack. In August I did catch a handful of dinks around the outer bend in the ample wood and brush using a dropshot and texas rig, but most of the fish including a couple OK ones near 2lbs came on the inside of the "bend". I've also had some success really shallow right after you launch near those pads.

Stopped at Stump Pond on the way to Market Basket yesterday afternoon and landed this beauty on a swim jig. Never fished here before but I may come back lol. No scale on me but pretty sure it was 5+... my previous PB was 4lbs and this was a good bit bigger, thick tail and chunky belly.
