  1. We fish year round here in west Arkansas. There's no less than 7 lakes within an hour of hot springs. All kinds of different fish too.
  2. Biggest bass she ever caught. 3.82 I think. She enjoys fishing. I'm one of the lucky ones. She's pretty handy with the ole ball and chain. Slow and steady which gets the better of me sometime. More often than I'd like to admit actually lol
  3. Just fun fishing I just wanna catch fish. Preferably in the manner I wanna catch them. Generally if I catch a bunch of fish at least a couple decent ones will be mixed in. Especially if my 5 year old is with me. Anything over a lb is big to him.
  4. 12 lb k9 fluoro presently. It's really good cranking line in my humble opinion.
  5. I fish and hunt. I'll continue to do both till I'm no longer capable. I kill 1 or 2 deer a year. That's about all my family can eat in that period. I'll also eat some fish. And they're good. My 5 year old boy hunts and fishes too. And I'll continue to encourage him too.
  6. The dump may have scales that'll be pretty accurate. I'm not too familiar with your area but most of them I've seen here in Arkansas do. They'd do it for free here.
  7. My fuel pump went out leaving me trolling the 2 miles back to the ramp ?.
  8. Never been redfishing. I really want to just haven't gotten the chance. Never caught a 5 lb spotted bass. I'm fairly confident they exist in Arkansas just never caught one. Never had a respectable finish in a tournament in January or February. And I've tried a lot.
  9. I use gorilla glue. Because that's what I have handy. Usually they tear down the back where the hook comes out and the nose. I just glue the tear shut. Then glue it back on the head I'm using. Does it lose a little action and feel not quite as soft? Yeah. Is it enough to cost me fish and make it not worth it? No.
  10. I wear the buff half finger gloves. They do occasionally get hooks in them. But.... I have a great big scar on my back that says I have to go through whatever necessary means to avoid another.
  11. Yes I do. And then when they get wore out I take em home glue them back together and use them again. They're generally shot after that.
  12. New Lew's bb1 I picked up for $120 at a local shop and a new to me Shimano clarus 7'6" crankbait rod I got for $50. Caught me off guard when. The guy offered the reel for that. They're not exactly known for discounts just having most of what you need.
  13. They make some glowsticks that are just right size for a marker buoy. It's definitely not a one size fits all thing. We have those here too. Don't matter if you have a reflective buoy or not. All they gotta do is see certain boats in an area and guarantee they'll be there the next night.
  14. I keep a couple in the boat at all times. I wish I had a forever glowing glowstick so I didn't have to tape and untape all the time for marking brush at night.
  15. Either a Berkley spooling station, the bathtub or the lake. I saw Timmy Horton throw a spool in the lake to refill one time and i just picked it up. I'd be lying if I said I knew exactly why.
  16. This is an interesting topic. I've been throwing a Texas rig since I was 7-8 years old and never once have I thought about it.
  17. I fish 3 reddish colors a lot in the summer. Plum, red bug and cranberry. Sometimes one outperforms the other but they all 3 are a staple of my summertime
  18. 2015 ram 1500 ecodiesel 4x4 with 40,000 miles. Had it about a month and a half now. Love it.
  19. I'm glad someone else is all about a great deal. $50 off a $200 reel is a good deal but a $75 reel for $25 is great lol
  20. A 5 or 6xd fished in the right spot is the ultimate numbers lure for me. Nothing quite like bombing a cast and pretty much knowing every time you get to a certain spot in the retrieve it's gonna get steam rolled.
  21. Abu black max 1600. I've had a couple and loved both.
  22. So.... You are provided a boat but you provide the motor and livewell system?? That's extremely odd. What's the water temp there? It's hard enough to keep 5 fish alive in my bass boat with good aeration and a livewell. I could only imagine trying to do it in an igloo with Mr bubbles.
  23. Usually just use a screw lock on my plastics.
  24. My 5 year old fishes probably 6-7 tournaments with me a year. He just fishes with me. Not a lot of sub-5th grade tournaments out there that I know of. So we just fish with the adults. It's fun. Probably a good idea to start with short tournaments. We usually fish nights or derbies that my buddy and I put on. Btw there's nothing better than having a 5 year old carry(with help) the winning bag to the scales lol
