  1. Why with your first rod would you but a technique specific high end rod? Unless you were planning on adding on pretty quick. Not sure why you would limit yourself right outta the gate. But for me I suppose I would go with a falcon lowrider 6'10 mh/f worm and jig rod. Not only it is great at what it's intended to do I'm pretty sure I could throw a lot of other lures in a pinch.
  2. No we don't don't carry too much tackle. There's always a time place and setting it all may be needed. Now to the seriousness. Don't talk about men thinking we may have too much tackle because sometimes my wife reads this. And that'll just give her fuel for her fire. ?? lol
  3. West Arkansas. Tons of good fishing. Largemouth and smallmouth and spots. Smallies are more moving water and nw arkansas. Also have stripers and most other worthwile game fish. Also pretty good deer and duck hunting. Summer can be a lil muggy but winter's are not bad.
  4. I don't have the cranking rod but I have the evx topwater/jerkbait rod and it is some kind of fantastic for it's price range. I'm sure the cranking rod will be also
  5. If your fish finders are newer you should be able to remove them pretty quickly and keep them inside with you. You can also take all your gear inside. Kind of a pain but better than donating it to some p.o.s. There's still the potential of vandalism but I'm fairly sure that's possible anyway you go about it.
  6. You could come to lake ouachita in Arkansas. There's a guide name Chris Darby who's really good. His # is (870)867-7822. And there's a few options on where a man could stay depending on his budget. We've been catching em pretty good lately here. Just an option I'm throwing out there.
  7. Thanks. Had to go on and get a couple of those.
  8. Great time today with a few great guys. All the way from Australia to fish with me and my friend Derek on our lake ouachita. Had an experience I'll always remember. Didn't hurt we got on some good fish. Biggest was probably 4 1/2. But that wasn't what it was all about. It was about going out with some great guys and helping them have a good time doing something they wanted to do. Made some friends and memories I'll never forget. Truly thankful for the whole experience. Enjoyed every minute of it. Caught some largemouth, spots and whites. Thank y'all so much for coming.
  9. My trip with the Aussies I met on here. Went so good. Got on em pretty good with the a rig. And these aren't even the half just the ones we could hold at the time. Great time with some great people. I'll post some more pics and talk more about it on another thread.
  10. Depends on if I'm trying to win or just cash a check. I agree with the bait shop though. That said some out of towners came into a bait shop round here a while back and asked where to catch fish for their club classic. Were they told where fish were? Sure. Were they told where some of us know some good fish are? Not exactly lol
  11. This one. I've caught an absolute boatload of fish in it this year. I'll go with bone and a semi clear Excalibur spook jr.
  12. Caught this one and a couple others and some stripers bank fishing after work. 1st stripers I'd caught. Burning a 1/4 oz yamamoto lipless in some kind of shallow water
  13. not exactly what I was fishing for but another first. Bank fishing cuz I didn't have time after work to get the boat out. Caught 2 about this size and a couple 2 lb lmb. Man what a fight!
  14. A 1/4 oz trap and a white spinnerbait fishing shallow flats.
  15. 1st drum. Dragging a c rig with a centipede. Felt like a good bass till i saw it and was sorely disappointed lol
  16. I have the 7'1 mojo worm and jig and although it's not exactly what I had hoped for in a t-rig worm and jig rod it's a really good all around rod. In fairness I bought it to replace a lowrider 20 worm and jig rod that happened to be my fav rod ever and couldn't afford to replace.
  17. I believe the rod at that price isn't a bad deal. I also believe that a heavy flippin stick is not gonna be a good all purpose rod.
  18. I'm one of those guys lol I didn't drag it all the way up the ramp but until I heard it. Just flattened out the bottom 3/8 inch and scratches it a bit.
  19. Don't know about the hd but the lowrider and bucoo are fantastic rods at their price. The originals were solid too. I would say you can't go wrong with anything that has the falcon name on it but since I've never had an hd I couldn't promise you that.
  20. I've lost 5-6 this year and I have a knocker. Usually in brush piles I'm not aware of. It sucks but part of it I suppose.
  21. I accomplished getting a pinnacle obsession. It took forever and was contrary. Took till 1:02 cst but still got my discount.
  22. I don't have a lure one that cost over $7-8. I also don't have problems catching fish. I shop very smart or at least feel like I do lol. Will a $15 crankbait help you catch more fish? Possibly. But is it worth it on an individual's budget? Only that person knows. It's not to me.
  23. I have a 99 procraft with a 99 merc on it. I have no idea how many owners it had previously but however many it had obviously took good care of it. Since I do know the 2 owners I know had it before were older I'm sure they didn't use it quite like i do. I use it all the time and it still runs fine. I even fish tourneys out of it. Do i run wot across the lake? No I don't. But nothing's better than beating the guys who think they can fish cuz they have a 50k boat out of an old little procraft.
  24. Got a falcon lowrider 20 jerked out my hands setting the hook this summer. Guess my hands were wet and it decided to run when I decided to try and set the hook real hard cuz it'd been a long night and I was frustrated. Watched it swim away in 20ish foot of water with brush piles everywhere. Never got it back.
