  1. Okuma evx 6'8 topwater jerkbait rod. It's in your price range and a really good rod. I love mine
  2. Went 3-1. Not sure what I just watched exactly but I suppose it happened. Going vikes and jags in the super bowl. Can't pick the eagles cuz I'm a cowboys fan and just wanna see something besides the pats.
  3. Pats, falcons, jags and vikings. Probably not gonna happen but a vikings jags super bowl would be something new and unexpected
  4. I'm in. Went with the home state guys pretty much which means a solid last or next to last is in my future ? lol
  5. If I had to just pick one lure to fish it would be a storm arashi topwalker. If I had to pick one lure to fish and always catch fish it'd be a Texas rigged watermelon red baby brush hog
  6. No problem. Keep us up to date on how it goes. I'm always looking for someone to outfish me on my own boat hahahaha ?. Good luck on your move
  7. I'd for sure look around hot springs. I live 30 miles from there on ouachita and it's a great lake and like goldstar said there's quite a few quality lake just a short drive away.
  8. That's cool. Good luck on your adventures. Keep us up to date on how it goes. Glad to see another arky on here.
  9. Pretty much the same reason the guy who fishes with lightning rods because it's what he can afford and gets the job done would ask why you spent $120 on a rod. I'm personally on the lower end of the financial bracket. But I sure love my falcon rods. I do pair them with low end pinnacle reels because it's what my budget allows. We'd all pretty much get the finest of the fine things if we could I'm sure.
  10. I like this thread because I thought about it earlier today so I'll pitch in. My 3 fav of 2017. The first is my day with the aussies. Such an experience. Something I'll remember forever. My 2nd is the day my boy, ole lady and me took off and just laid the wood to them on a drop shot. We had an absolute blast and any time the boys with me is great. The 3rd was our first tourney. Literally had my boat 2 weeks and was fishing because all my friends were and I'm a competitor. Ole ladies first fish on a c-rig. Literally 2nd cast of the day. Was the next to biggest fish weighed in that day and we got a 4th just winging it lol.
  11. Learn my home lake better and start fishing some of the lakes around me. I live within 80 miles of a ton of good lakes. Work on fishing SLOW!!!! Hope all yall have a great new year and may 2018 be the best.
  12. Nacho cheese crackers is usually what I eat. I have a pb&j onboard most times just don't manage to have time for it. Sometimes one of those Gatorade bars.
  13. Caught these last Friday. First crappie I've caught in a couple years and the first I've caught on purpose since I was a kid. Pretty fun jigging docks and fantastic table fare ?
  14. Mark Davis and not because he's from my hometown or the fact we fish against each other occasionally or because my best friend has his boat from last year or because he helps out our high school team so much.....Well maybe a lil of all that lol
  15. Welcome Ty.
  16. Merry Christmas everyone!!!!! Hope it's a blessed one for y'all and your loved ones.
  17. 2 biggest fish I've ever personally seen were caught on a slug-go about 25 years ago weightless t-rigged. I didn't even know they were still made until a couple months ago.
  18. I've caught a 10-3 in a pond here in arkansas but nothing over 8 in a lake or river.
  19. Welcome Shane. Funny.... I just took 2 aussies fishing a few weeks ago I met on here. One was named Shane lol
  20. I've caught a bunch of gar on the river behind my house. On everything from a beetle spin( that I was actually throwing to avoid the gar) to a fluke to an a rig. During summer it's harder to avoid them than it is to catch the bass.
  21. Looks like a bowfin aka grinnel to me. I've only caught 2 but that's a spittin image except for size
  22. Was born in a community in Arkansas of about 175. Moved when I was 5 to a booming metropolis of 875. Always had woods and water to hunt and fish as a child. We also got the first 2 days of deer season out of school. Now I live in a town about 40 minutes away from where I grew up. Population around 950. Rural Arkansas at it's finest. High school football on Friday boat deck or deer stand on the weekends. And I wouldn't trade it for the world.
  23. I try to get them in the boat asap. Especially if I'm fishing weeds or brushpiles. No sense letting them stay in their enviroment where they have an advantage any longer than neccesary. There is a delicate balance to me though on getting jumpy ones to the boat still hooked and trying to keep them from jumping.
  24. Went out for my 1st black friday today. Yikes!!! Did get the Garmin echomap 93sv but stood in the checkout line for 45 minutes. Probably not as long as a lot of places but longer than I really wanted too
  25. Oh man. I'm not exactly old (34) to be exact. But I remember going out with my uncle thanksgiving morning deer hunting then fishing at my memaws pond after. And then on Friday the whole community practically would come together and have a flag football game. The good ole days
