  1. lmao ... ok ok, i'll post pics tonight. I was looking @ them last night- seeing the point poking under the skin is gross lol I went Fri, Sat and Sun, kind of funny how much more I pay attention to where all my tackle is on my boat. HOWEVER, where I sit in the front I keep alot of my baits on the ground...yes, where my feet are, and im barefoot 99% of the time, given there just to the right where my trolling motor is, I know it's a matter of time til I forget or don't see a crankait or treble hook and step on it -___- ....it's actually a bad habit of mine.. Do you guys do that? say you change a lure or something and just cut it off and leave it on a small section of the boat during the trip then like put them away when you get home? ... I'm fn lazy and just want to switch lures ASAP so I just cut it, throw it the side, then tie and throw again, do a tie down nd organize when i get home
  2. You don't understand because you prob know how to pull it out. Dr's do know how, she's done many times before actually. But out of hands not a thigh. I think I forgot how to do it as soon as I was born, didn't have YouTube in the 80's to learn it again, shucks!
  3. yep, basically what my gf said, it was the barb causing the pain, not the hook so much.. makes me wonder.. do fish feel that kind of pain? guess we'll never know, a lot of weird reports out there concerning that topic, fun sport, kinda cruel if you really look at what we do.. but, part of being on top of the food chain!
  4. lmao .. pics are great!! Ill post a pic when I get home of all things discussed lol you guys are a trip for real I actually was really hoping the sharp point came through, I could see it poking through the skin, I almost just pushed it thorugh really fast without telling her... haha just to quickly get it over with, but then im like, if any part of this goes wrong.... 1.) shes in pain 2.) shes pushing me in the water 3.) she wont know how to drive the boat to leave me so then id be wet getting back in 4.) the lure is still stuck in her leg 5.) ...well you get the point
  5. nope, just the bone, its not the biggest - not sure if it's the smallest (90), I think its the middle size. I sort of agree, only with the stop and go. I can cast my buzzbait an absolute mile, I can pop it and create disturbances as far as cadence, I can make it dance on the water in the same fashion as a plopper, a trailer hook if anything helps with the hook ups (but yes, trebles are $). I find the buzzbait still superior though
  6. that's an expensive day! I feel the pain though, I lost all of mine within 3 weeks, it's ridiculous. so, the broken one I mentioned I used yesterday for a little bit, the spinning part sometimes presses against the body and wont spin but if i do it slowly it'll be ok, but I threw it and absolutely nothing. I seriously dont know how you guys have success, I can SEE HOW you would, but my reservoir bass dont care for it.. throw a buzzbait tho? they'll annihilate it I caught a 1.5lber yesterday on a watermelon red flake baby brush hog, love those but i need more weight on it than 3/8th oz weight, i can only cast it like 20ft nonetheless, I like hearing people having success on the water, so rock on fellas!
  7. I can't believe you guys have so much success w/ it. Where I fish I never got a hit, not even once.. I hate saying this, but I've had 4, lost 3, one is broke because i smashed it in the side of the boat casting like the idiot I am .. who also hooked his gf last Friday while casting, thats a different thread. but between the 3 I lost I casted quite a bit and never a single hit.. ive caught monsters on buzzbaits, I love them way more
  8. haha, love the stories. really no excuse, I made a poor judgement and didn't reposition my body as i repositioned the boat.. so, me and her tossed our lines out to clear the spool, hers went out further than mine, so i told her im going to turn the boat so we can drift down shore while she reels in.. but...i never turned my body with the boat, so my next cast was so close to her...clearly. I f'd up. I own'd it. I was REALLY shocked how well she took it, she was honestly ticked we had to leave lol she says its sore but healing well. she'll be getting a ring soon. she loves fishing, were going this weekend lol GOD BE WITH US !!! she's a little nervous rightfully so lol i'm a 7 handicap golfer actually, but she sucks at golf and golf is MUUUUUUUUUUCH harder than fishing. I went last night and put a really nice bag together, almost 10lbs.. this was the biggest. excuse my cheese smile, my @55 got a little too excited and needs to calm right down.
  9. hahaha, you guys are a trip. ill post a pic of her booty maybe haha thanks for the video! totally wouldve impressed her but after 4 years and some change, im the one who needs some impressing haha jk! maybe i should buy her a Daiwa JDM Reel with a GLoomis reel to make it up to her but keep it on my boat? so, ill post a pic when i get home of the hook, it was in a little further and you could see the point poking the skin just to the side of it, idk if that would work really after watching it a few times. when the Dr cut it, she had to wiggle it around a little to get it out
  10. we need a meeting of some sort- i offered to do that. when they see fishermen and have the entire other side of the resevoir to go to with nobody theere, then they SHOULD exercise that space. getting within feet of my boat is unacceptable. we all have rights. its public water. its not like there going to ban fisherman, thats laughable. having to find coves and travel far from lake ridge is utterly ridiculous to 'hide' from the rowers. just irritates me. such disrespectful priks. things will get out of hand eventually. its coming. its inevitable
  11. lol I used to, i still have some on the spool at home and it's not enough to put on a reel .. guess i finally have a use for it now
  12. looks like i need to youtube it.. i have 50lb powerpro braid, i should keep some on the boat for an emergency
  13. thats awesome .. a buddy of mine still has some family that lives off the shenendoah and said i could fish it but i just havent asked yet. my other one who fishes it all the time still catches 40-70 fish everytime he goes out, for like 4-6hrs. i thought he was lying but he was def serious, he doesnt exagerrate and hes the quiet type, if it wasnt for fishing we'd never been friends cause he's a mute til it comes to fishing lol but he sent me pics of all his fish, its really really impressive, and id LOVE to go there sometime, with new bodies of water, i like to go with someone who knows it- but finding people willing to take you is a whole other conversation for a diff day
  14. dude- my boy said he knows how to do that. w/ braided line? i need to learn more, i just started fishing after 16yrs off this past spring, so im learning the ropes all over again.
  15. GOD DANG I HATE THE ROWERS !!!!!!!!!!! THE MOST INCONSIDERATE MOFO'S ON THE RESERVOIR!!!!!! I wrote them a nasty email this week, one of their hotshots in the motorboats got within 5ft of my boat and quickly turned to avoid hitting me, he didnt hear me yelling at him !!!! idiots man.. the boaters, the kids, the adults, all of them, inconsiderate, they'll have all the space in the world but get right up beside you .. stop...then scream into the bull horn?! I don't understand are you doing ?! i hate them, were going to have it out one day.. if im lucky enough ill knock one out. rant over. side note, i fished there mon-yesterday.. tough fishing man, i tried dropshot and a little deeper methods, did catch a nice one on a good carolina rig setup but its tough now and its like 5ft shallower than summer time which is starting to really suck. need to join a club or something, need to meet more people to bring fishing sometimes.
  16. I want to fish Aquia really bad, esp before it gets real cold. Might try to hit that up this weekend or next. My buddy fishs shenendoah river for smallies in his kayak, i want a kayak strictly for that.. the crappy part? it COSTS 50-60$ JUST FOR THE PLACE TO DROP YOU OFF 7MI UP THE FLIPPING RIVER!! dude, thats ridiculous, his dad works there so he does it for him for free obviously and said he'd do the same for me, but still dude, 60$ for a 5 minute freaking boat ride? thats nonsense. only stupid part about that- price you have to pay to fish i guess
  17. omg haha .. dude, I check my plug when I get there and load up my stuff, and again when i get to the water before I dump.. im so paranoid about sinking, i think its cause drowning is a major fear of mine, i have top notch life vests but still, lol she was in good spirits, my gf is a hottie, the people at patient first feasted their eyes lol ... shes got a round booty and some D's, so.. when she was standing in there in moving around it was funny. nice little scar now where the hook was.. I feel bad but she doesn't care, just a little sore.
  18. Yo .. so .. last Friday I couldn't wait to get off work to go fish w/ my gf. I got her into her, she loves it now. I go almost everyday after work for ~4hrs. Off at 2pm, on water at ~330 til 7 or til I just get tired, sometimes I just go for 2hrs cause I just want to cast, its not always about catching fish - I just love to be on the water. Catching fish is cool when it happens. Anyway.. she goes to Cabelas, buys me the 3 crankbaits I asked her to get earlier in the day. Comes over, pack up, now were on the water.. THIS IS WHERE THINGS GO SOUTH. We go to our fav spot, LITERALLY ON MY FIRST CAST.. I noticed the bait never made it out and I hear, "ouch, WAIT!", so I panick, realize the crank is stuck to her yoga pants, I'm like "oh crap, can you pull it out?" shes like, "um, its not moving", i say, "omg did it go in?!" and it sure did.. right in the side of her thigh. I panick a little, cut a small circle around the 1 treble hook thats hooked into her top layer of skin and try to get it out, no luck without hurting her. so. shes tough. shes a girly girl. i didnt expect her to be that tough, she was actually more ticked off we werent on the water for more than 5 minutes and now have to go to Patient First to get it out.. which took like ~2hrs.. went home and all is fine. I felt like an Ahole, she didnt care, she understood.... happen to anyone else?
  19. Is it out of line to ask to go fishing with you ? .. .I can take you to the occoquan resevoir in return haha. that's legit man. you def are..doing it right. the new homes im looking at do come w/ garages, but im realizing its more practical to keep outside, and from the looks of you, store it much the same. to have to go 3 months with 0 fishing is out of the question, i go almost everyday after work, leave at 2pm, on the water at 330 til 7pm. just want a bigger boat for the bigger bodies of water, i just started going to potomac/belmont bay area and its great.. despite the idiot boaters but the resevoir has the stupid @55 rowers, idiots everywhere i guess. just want to be able to go out there more, fishing grass is so awesome, fn love it.
  20. dude thats a sweet deal you got.. now that i'm not keeping it in the water I did want to go glass but it seems like aluminum is much more durable and i can use it in the winter. do you run yours in colder months? garaged? so undecisive. def want 21ft, my buddy told me 18-19ft on windy days is a real bad idea. Xpress had some nice boats that one of the guys on here mentioned, but .. a nice ranger is really what i want, i have the budget for it- on weekends, vacations, going to potomac/lake anna is really what im gunning for, i have a resevoir boat for my weekday fishing
  21. hm. makes sense. I was wondering this yesterday as I was fishing.. I had a dropshot, 15~ ft or so, and I JJ dipped a zoom trick worm & was thinking to myself.. "can see or smell this?" "how can I make them want to bite it?" "WHY THE F AREN'T THEY BITING IT !!!" LOL
  22. I wish bro .. seriously, I would in a heartbeat, I was actually hoping a few slips in his marina would have the option for a lift- i'd pay extra but he doesnt have any. It sucks :/ so.. as a result of my research and advice, I have opted to NOT keep it in the water, one day/some day..
  23. My personal best over the weekend...
  24. I salute you for this. I was A HUGE BODYBUILDING fanatic from 19yo to 25yo. Posters everywhere, videos of pro's, all of it- it consumed ( much like fishing now lol ) .. I had some setbacks in life and fell out of it, then my herniated disc set me further back to a low point.. I pray to have the stamina to get back into it. The mental is so much more than the physical. GOOD JOB DUDE!! keep it up and goodluck winning some!!!
  25. Depends what time you go - if you hit in the a.m. i'd totally frog that area, maybe a quick couple buzzbaits across it. Looks like theres a bunch of stuff to hang you up .. but it shouldn't stop you from trying !!!
