  1. Are you setting the hook?
  2. For your rod #1 applications, I’m using a fury 705cb and really have enjoyed it. The mod-fast tip is excellent. Just a suggestion if looking for other rod options. Never fished an Avid, but heard good things.
  3. Im glad they are coming to texas. Yee haw Dobyns
  4. Then why not let a soft jerkbait fall and sit on the bottom?
  5. Link for this suffix braid backing? Braid can slip on a spool with no backing, thats why most use mono as backing.
  6. Hard. Soft. Jerk away
  7. Doesnt seem like a good idea to me. Ill stick with my palomar knot that ive never had an issue with.
  8. Im on a Dobyns kick with Shimano reels lately. I like what I like.
  9. No one wears sperrys? Those have always been classic fishing shoes
  10. I obviously cant tell you what was wrong with your Lewser product, but you should really enjoy and have no issues with the Curado K. Congrats on the purchase
  11. I think your idea of the Shock and Caenean would be a great beginner combo.
  12. I haven’t handled the Powell, but own a few fury rods and I am really enjoying them. It’s going to come down to personal preference as to which one suits you best
  13. Save more cash.
  14. Caught this tank yesterday. No scale or measuring tape(didnt have my normal bag,nor did I expect this size catch). Laid her down for just a second so I could take a pic to show scale. She swam off beautifully and I packed up and drove home feeling high.

  16. That is really cool. I will definitely have to have them do that for me on my next order.
  17. I think this is a great idea but unfortunately I rarely post as I hate to clutter threads. Guess I have something to work towards for next year!
  18. Currently using the Cerros. Once dialed in, the reel is great. No experience with the rod.
  19. Great info here. Being new to fishing myself, I purchased a cheap combo. As good as the entry level combo was, I upgraded within a month. It took one time of using a friends setup that was better, for me to realize I should have opted for a better combo from the beginning. A cheap rod will still catch fish, it'll just feel better and be more fun on a quality setup.
  20. This is what works best for me. I plan ahead and have everything rigged up prior to me getting there
  21. Thank you for the warm welcome everyone. @Glenn, your videos on YouTube is what brought me to this great site. Thank you and it's a pleasure to meet you.
