  1. Tom, Thanks for pointing all that out. The only way I know is because that's what the title says. Could the title be wrong? Perhaps. The people I bought it from said they bought it from someone without a title and then they had to go through the process of getting the title. So I could definitely see why it may not really be an Alumacraft.
  2. Have you used the 5:1:1 gear ratio? I like that they have a bigger handle on the BB1 Pro's as well.. Not sure if they do on the BB1
  3. So.. I'm in the process of switching of switching all my reels from Revos to Lews. I got one Lews reel and fell in love with it. So I am in the process of upgrading all my reels. With that being said, what Lews reel is recommended for crankbaits. I currently use a Revo Winch in a 5:4:1 ratio. It makes retrieving those deep running cranks a breeze. So I'm looking for a Lews comparable, but there's so many of them, I don't know what my best option would be. So I was hoping someone here could chime in on what they use and how you like it
  4. Cool thanks for the tips! The Bow actually pretty heavy now that I've added a bow mount trolling motor and the decking which is made from 1/2 sheet of marine plywood.
  5. Here' s some pics of the boat.. This was before my deck and what not, but you can see what I'm working with. Sorry they're sideways
  6. Seems like my safest bet is a 9.9.. was hoping I could pull off a 15
  7. Hey everyone, I purchased an older 1952 Alumacraft off Craigslist a few months ago.. Got a good deal. Made a small casting deck on the front with a bow mounted trolling motor. Now I'm in search of an outboard. The boat is 14' long and the beam is 48" (if that matters). What's the max HP engine I could use? My old boat I sold had a sticker on it but this one has nothing. I'm looking at nothing large than 15HP engine. Is this too large?
  8. Did you throw anything besides the chatterbait?
  9. Never happened to me.. Had it happen to my brother when I was fishing. It even happens to the pros, check out Youtube you'll find a couple videos.
  10. +1 for the Marine plywood NOT pressure treated plywood.
  11. Nice. Just ordered a few. Thanks for sharing!
  12. All the shipping services suck. I went to the post office to ship a rod this morning in a PVC Tube. I have received several rods via Priority Mail in the last year or so. This was my first time shipping one. I walk up the counter with my address label and everything on the tube. They enter the dimensions of the tube (92" x 8" Girth (around the tube). They tell me its too large to ship via Priority Mail and their computer won't let them do it. I go on the website and show them as long as the length and girth add up to 108" or less, it qualifies for Priority Mail. Since my total was under 108", it qualifies but they wouldn't let me ship it Priority Mail. What a joke. So I just shipped it with their ground service and it was $41.. yeah... $41! Won't happen again. I have received Priority Mail rods before and the label ranges from $18-$30.. I have received them from CA and FL amongst other places, but I just don't get it. From now on I'm just going to make my labels online and ship them that way. They have no clue what they're doing over there and they wonder why they lose billions each year. What a joke... Rant over. Carry on.
  13. 1/16 & 1/8 oz bullet weights Spinnerbait in white Whopper Plopper Jig heads & white grubs Senkos, mixed colors Hooks Frog Shallow diving square bill(s) Jig and craw Few lipless cranks Popper
  14. Hope you fared better than I did. I was catching them all day in senkos around the weed beds. Switched to punching. Got one in the second flip, I thought I was on to something but that was the end of that. Stuck with it for a good amount of time too but didn't get any more hits. Switched back to the senkos and started catching them again. Maybe it just wasn't a punching kind of day. Also had three short strikes on the frog
