Hi.
I am fishing a tournament next week for school. Today we had about 4-7 inches of snow but not all of it stuck. The past week has been hovering in the 60’s with a few days of 70’s. The day of the tournament is calling for 62 degrees with some rain and the entire week is supposed to rain. The water conditions are stained-murkey and it doesn’t get deeper than 15 feet but mainly between 4-5 feet. It is a soft bottom with some weeds underwater. What kinda baits should I use?
Thanks
There’s always St Croix if you want high end. I have the legend tournement and the avid X. If you are looking for an all around rod, there’s a company called G-Rods that make rods out of graphene. I have one and love it, it’s extremely sensitive and worth every penny.
Hello all,
I am looking to get a 7 ft heavy rod for frogs and punching at the bass pro spring classic. What would be on everyone’s reccomendation? I’ve been looking at the St Croix Mojo bass or Bass X, or a Shimano SLX.
Thanks
Pat
By the way, I ordered the Metanium yesterday. I would think that with this being a $400 reel that it shouldn’t have these problems.
I just had it sent back and got a refund
Alright thank you. I think I’m gonna order the Metanium from there. Only concern is what you said about the “main gear being brittle”, how long would it last if I don’t change the gear? I’ll be honest, I’m not the best at assembling things.
So I’m getting a crankbait combo and I’m stuck between these two reels. For the rod I have a 7’2”, Medium Power, Moderate action, St Croix Legend Tournament Bass. What reel is preferred for crankbaits?
Tight lines
Patrick
