  1. Yes, My favorite lake i like to fish is blair lake i'm always getting something out of there. However you can only fish from the bank here. I catch everything from pickerels to bass all on real worms and senkos. I've had luck with Grn Pumpkin Bk Flk/Watermelon Copper/Orange Red and Watermelon and i'll wacky rig them.
  2. Welcome dude and have fun catching bass as they're a bunch of fun! If you need any help, I'm sure I or someone else could give you some pointers. I happen to also be in North Jersey in warren county, I'm sure you know where that is Even thought i just started to bass fish, I'm really enjoying it and caught my largest a 2.2 pound bass 17 inches!
  3. I know right?, At least it was easy to get my senko and hook back from him as he was only hooked in the side of his mouth. I really wasn't planning on catching him but he wanted the worm more than a bass i guess.
  4. I'll be honest, I almost always ask for permission out of a way respect and if i'm told no "Hasn't happened yet" then i move on. Most the time though, I'm told sure go ahead as long as you are respectful and i try to be. I try not to leave any trash behind/pickup after myself, I'll fish the spot for some time catch/release then i'll clean up after myself and head home. I believe if you do this, You'll be just fine
  5. Mannnn...These pickerels sure do love my lures! I wanted to get a bass but instead i get this, I did however get my bass last night right before we were asked to leave by security as it was like 9-10pm. I'm just using a weightless, wacky rigged senko but that's enough to get them to bite. Our catch: A 5 pounds and two feet long pickerel, He was giving me a fight and kicking a ton of water at me.
  6. If there's one bait i'm confident with, It would have to be the Berkley PowerBait 3 in. Floating Trout Worms. In all my years of fishing I was firm on fishing with nothing but an earth worm. A few months ago when I got back into fishing my nephew recommend power bait so I started to use both worms and power bait after using power bait for a while I only caught one fish on it a nice 13 inch rainbow trout. One day I was using power bait at my local river fishing from the bank with a man fishing inside the river almost right beside me. I caught nothing while the other guy was catching them left and right in the same spot I was. He was very nice and give me some pointers and even gave me some of his pink worms and rigged it for me and sure enough I got a rainbow trout. On top of that he said Mike's pink salmon eggs and power bait worms is all he uses. From that point on i try to use just about every thing now. I catch everything with these not just trout, I love em.
  7. I must say, This is really cool thanks for sharing!
  8. Welp, Went bass fishing at my local lake and got more than i asked for, That's for sure! This guy saw my senko and nailed it, I wanted to unhook him and let him go but he wanted no parts and ended up breaking my off line keeping the hook and worm. I tried to help him get back into the lake after i took the picture but just wanted to roll back into the lake and swam away. I ended up getting this bass on a green pumpkin black flake senko and a bait hook. He wasn't going anywhere, That's for sure. He was easy to get off and get him back into the water once i got pass the barb.
  9. Honestly you should be fine with an ul setup with 6 pound test. I personally use a four pounds test fluro now with braided on my 4'6 ul. I use anything from 1/16 to 1/8 for lures and caught a bunch of different fish and good luck catching.
  10. I want to say thank you for all the solid advice you gave me and i really do appreciate it! I will be taking all these things into account, But if it isn't to much to ask. What pound test do you all recommend for my sisters two rods?, If i had to guess i would say 8 pound fluorocarbon would be fine but please correct me if i am wrong. However on my rod, I would need to use some monofilament or fluorocarbon as backing on the reel then attach my Power Pro 15lb test and attach my hook/lures/jigs onto the braid or use a leader? Many Thanks Friend!
  11. Hi There, I am currently interested in catching some large mouth bass in a local lake near me and was wondering what it would take to catch one. These are the rods we will be using and i want to know if they're okay to use for bass fishing any advice on this would be great. If all we have to is replace our hooks, lines, etc then that fine but i'd rather not have to replace all our rods just to go bass fishing. Me:ugly stik spl 1101 5''0 light action 4-10. Little Sister: Catch more fish 5'0" medium light action 4-10. Little Sister 2:5'6" medium action 6-12. Many thanks friends.
  12. Hi, I'm Jeffrey and I've been fishing since i was little, I'm now 25. I grew up learning how to fish, So i wanted to teach my little sisters how to fish. We tend to go fishing for any kind of fish regardless of what it could be. Long story short, We've been fishing for about a month now and we've been doing pretty good and catching some pretty neat stuff here in Warren County, New Jersey. Brown Trouts/Rainbow Trouts/Crappie/Sunfish/Catfish/Rock bass/Small mouth bass/etc the list goes on. Any advice on what size of lures to use and sinkers would be much appreciated and If it isn't to much to ask what kind of rods/lure/weights would we need to catch bigger fish like bass/salmon/etc. We happen to have a lake that isn't to far from us that have all of those and it would pretty neat to catch some of those. With that being said, Fish on! I'll leave our rod we currently use here. I have my ugly stik spl 1101 5''0 action light 4-10 line with 6 pound test. "Currently not being used." I use a 4'6" action Ultra Light rod with 4 pound test. http://imgur.com/zaPyuPX http://imgur.com/aMvHWoG My one little sister uses a 5'0" action medium light 4-10 with 6 pound test. http://imgur.com/IcUO4p8 http://imgur.com/f2AVU4i My other little sister uses my 5'6" action medium 6-12 line with 4 pound test. http://imgur.com/FtqBugJ http://imgur.com/X33Y3jm Thank you!
