  1. Hey all. I make all kinds of lures but I generally keep the hard baits, jigs, flies, etc... out of the forums. I don’t know why I do I guess I just don’t think about them that much. With that being said here is a pattern I just added to my Lipless Crankbaits. Since it’s a new pattern for me I thought I’d get some opinions on what you would change, add, or do differently before I seal this thing up and keep it as a finished pattern I can paint over and over again. I’ve thought about adding more detail and less shadings but then I keep thinking I like it the way it is and the only thing I’ll do is add some small black flake to the sealing coat to add some texture and breakup from all the blended/shaded colors so I stop. Anyways, once it’s sealed this thing will look so much better and any white you see in the picture is actually a pearl green but the reflection of the sun did some crazy stuff to the pictures. When it’s done all the way I’ll post it so you guys can see the finished product if you’d like. Without further ado here it is so far since I can’t make my mind up....
  2. Personally I’ll buy used good quality airbrushes and equipment before I’ll buy new no name subpar equipment. With that being said the Wega’s, Master series, Point Zeros, etc.. will do most anything you want them to do for lure making. They may not be as smooth and easy to control but they will get the job done.
  3. I use the Spike It markers quite often on crankbaits. I have to admit they work great but you need to know they are transparent so whatever base coat you go over will determine the outcome. I had a pearl white Norman crankbait with some ghost stripes and one day my buddy told me before I left for the lake that they hitting on white and chartreuse just the previous afternoon. As soon as I got to the boat ramp I took the chartreuse Spike It marker and dyed it. Fishing went great, baits been used tons, and believe it or not it’s still chartreuse/white/grey ghost stripes. Worked awesome and been doing it since.
  4. Where are you getting the clear weed guards from? I’ve got some jigs to make and seen these so I might give the clear guards a try. Great looking job by the way.
  5. Ok cool, my mind must think my body is a wuss. Lol
  6. @Bluebasser86 primarily for working in the underside of the boat. My boat is pretty much the same model as your project boat. It’s an 86’ 16ft MonArk with the single console. the reason I ask is because I seen your thread and I thought what the heck I got the time to redo it so I’ll be starting to work on it soon. Only real reason I need to get to the underside is to strip the god awful paint that someone used on it. Hull is in good condition, so the boat is off the trailer for that I’ll be redoing the trailer as well.
  7. Ok I have stupid rookie question. What’s the easiest/safest way to get the boat on and off the trailer when redoing the bunk boards, working on the bottom of the hull, etc...?
  8. 6yr old thread brought back to life! I want to be the first to congratulate them for using the search function.
  9. Guess I’ll have a big learning curve here but sure is fun anyways
  10. Dohhhhhhhhhh............ #72
  11. Got it, thanks.
  12. So do our lineups change from tournament to tournament or do they stay locked in all season?
  13. Sorry for bringing it up, I guess I’ve never thought about it as gambling since it isn’t a requirement for each player to donate. Rules are rules and I understand that.
  14. Any chance as a collective group for those that would want to participate in donating as little as one fishing item to a pot for a winner take all? If so it wouldn’t be mandatory by any means, but the only kicker would be that the winner posts a pic or two of their loot. @fishballer06 would you be willing to take the donations and hold them until the end?
  15. Ok thanks
  16. I’ve been in since yesterday evening and still can’t figure out how to select my team.
  17. I’m right there with ya, I take 4 in my kayak max. I once had 5 in the yak, 4 were in the rod holders and 1 between my legs while I paddled and fished. That was a miserable time.
  18. Will do WRB, thanks
  19. Sweet. Thank you
  20. Well, After handling and messing with some quantum reels I decided to purchase one. I was on the Ole EBay and was searching when I came across a brand new Tour Edition Burner 7.0 for $70 shipped to my door. That was around a week ago and since then I’ve had it on the new rod in the front yard practicing. I must say this reel has made quite the impression on me so far but that isn’t saying much. I’m excited to see what the reel brings to me this year in fishing.
  21. I use copoly line, I personally like it and as hobby fisherman I haven’t had enough experience to tell a difference between copoly and flouro. I’m sure in time that will come and I’ll make a switch but right now I’m absolutely fine and can’t see a reason for switching.
  22. Ok so my first year ever doing this but have played other fantasy sports, my question is does your team change for each event or do you basically pick your anglers for the year?
  23. So far this winter I’ve been buying a bunch of equipment and pouring/injecting my own lures for this up and coming season.
  24. I’ve just started getting into crafting my own lures and eventually would love to explore this more, but until then I’ll just buy some and get to trying them out. Thanks guys
  25. Can someone post a picture of a hair jig and describe the size that one would use for LMB? I would love to try this out. If I can’t make it work for the LMB, then I’ll just do a little driving to find some SMB.
