I'm looking for an all-around rod for my nephew. He likes how the TP-1's look, and I've heard good things about them.
Have you (or anyone @Manly Studson) fished the 7'2" or 7'3" med-heavy?
Kistler Helium is around $300 or less when you catch a sale. TW has a sale starting tomorrow or Fri I think.
Of all my rods, this is definitely the most sensitive. Use it exclusively for t-rigs. My jigs are thrown on an Expride, which is a great rod. But I still think the Helium is more sensitive.
Yeah I definitely need to upgrade the hardware.
Also, this bone Spook also has a nice orange touch on the chin. Whether it matters or not, who knows? But I like it. (this is not my usual Spook/top water rod, btw).
This.
I was out fishing in some pea soup today. Sunny skies turned to overcast. I threw a bone-colored One Knocker on and cast it up tight to the shore. This beauty approved.
I have the 6'11" M+ Adrena as well. And even tho it's rated up to 1 oz, I think that's pushing it's limits. I feel most comfortable throwing 1/2 oz and below baits on it.
What do you throw on your 6'11" medium+ Adrena? I bought that rod this spring. In the spring I used it for jerkbaits. This summer I've been using it for Keitech's and lighter Texas Rig (14 lb Sniper).
Right now I fish the Zoom UV Speed Worms. 6" & 7".
My question is, do the Cut R Worms in those same sizes have the same profile (body girth) as the UV Speed Worms?
If you're able to get it screwed on straight (practice make perfect), screw locks are great on swim jigs IMO. Trailers lasts a lot longer and doesn't keep sliding down.
I have the 7'2" and 6'11" versions (white tip) in med-heavy/mod.
The 7'2" is my dedicated Chatterbait rod. I love it. The tip lets you feel every little thing, yet there's enough backbone for when I wanna rip the bait thru grass if it gets hung up.
Can't help you out, but I know Big Bite Baits has a craw tube that's kind of similar. The claws likely don't move as much as the ones in your pic, tho.
