  1. Like roadwarrior said, most braid floats (I think a few companies have come out with sinking braid). But that doesn't mean you can't use it for bottom contact baits. Tons of people do. If you're fishing around rocks tho you may wanna add a fluoro or mono leader.
  2. There's always that one guy...and it's usually him.
  3. Thanks Mike. How the heck have I overlooked those?
  4. Love the original Fogy, which is also a football head. You plan on bringing any out that doesn't have a football head?
  5. Bass lives matter. I have so much respect for these fish that bring me so much joy and excitement. Once I land one, I try to do everything in my power to handle it properly and get it back into the water as soon as possible. I will, however, take a quick pic here and there. What others do is their business. Though naturally it bothers me some if I see someone mishandling these fish. What bothers me the most is these guys who boat-flip these bigger bass and just let them slam into their consoles or onto the deck of the boat. I have no issues with boat-flipping, but have some control at least.
  6. 16# Sniper for me. If I really wanna rip it thru grass I'll throw them on a braid setup.
  7. Same here. They probably deserve a good butt whooping. Unreal.
  8. In a survey of 100 bass, 91% said that the tastiest part of a baitfish are it's eyes. Therefore, I say the more the merrier.
  9. I literally have 70+ packs of them. Probably my favorite plastic.
  10. I should probably say one of my Expride's, or Kistler's, or Megabass. But the truth is the 2 rods that I have that I'm head over heels for is my Dobyns Sierra 734 (micro guides) and Powell Naked 734. The Powell Naked is a newer rod. You can only get a few models right now, but I talked to a Powell rep the other day and he said more models will be coming in the next few months and more readily available on other sites. I've been using mine (7'3 H/F) for swim jigs on straight braid. The rod is super light and quite sensitive. Everything about it just feels right. I'll be getting more models for sure. And everyone knows about the 734 Sierra by now. Another rod that just feels right and is fun to fish.
  11. Ah, thanks. So it's not like you can go there and handle rods?
  12. Where are they moving to? Closer or farther from the WI border? Do they have everything that you can get on their site in-store/back room?
  13. What is a realistic glide, anyways? I don't see any fish swimming like that in the water.
  14. To clarify, you mean just the pencil, not popper, right?
  15. Silver lining- you can use the bait right away instead of waiting for who knows how long?
  16. Last month I shipped a rod from WI to CA for $32 through the post office.
  17. He can correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the 6th Sense Provoke in Live Shiner.
  18. If you wanna get all matchy matchy...
  19. I have a smaller ma and pa tackle shop near me that has an amazing selection of baits. Even better than the closest BPS/Cabela's IMO. The only issue is they over-charge so much that It's hard for me to justify shopping there as much as I'd like to. I'm ok paying a little more to help a local shop. But when you're charging $8 for a pack of Rage Bugs (that retail for $6) when I can get them on sale for $5 online...it's tough.
  20. I tried it. I liked it, especially when I added some sugar.
  21. Why? He's asking people which crankbaits they personally have had the most success with when fishing for bass. Not "what crankbaits look the prettiest to you".
  22. How is this rod for soft swimbaits where you have to drive an Owner Beast Hook home? I've heard this is a good rod for hard baits/trebles.
