9 out of 10 bass agree, the Sleeper Gill is faaaantastic.
It was designed to be fished more like a swimbait, where as the Dark Sleeper is usually fished more like a jig.
By far my favorite color that has produced the most for me is Pumpkinseed. Haven't caught nothing big on it yet, tho.
Somebody said the new version of the Helium and Z-Bone still uses NFC blanks. That's not true. Not saying the new blanks aren't great, but something to note.
As much of a tackle junky that I am, I have never bought any JDM reels or even ordered from any Japanese sites, so I'm quite naive.
Looking at Digitaka, are you guys talking about the Zillion TW HD? Which 'American' Zillion is it equal to, if any?
I have that exact reel. Have had it for about 4 years now. I don't use it is much anymore just because I've phased it out of my lineup, not because it's a bad reel, but more so because I'm always trying new stuff/upgrading/etc.
It's a very solid reel, and at that price it's a no-brainer IMO.
Same here. Even frog fishing. People says wait a few seconds before setting the hook. Not me. They blow up, I reel up any slack that may be in the line (maybe 1/2 handle turn) and let em have it. My hookup ratio is quite good.
I mostly fish my drop shots on the 7'1 med-light Tatula. it's even labeled "drop shot" on the rod. Awesome rod for $150, and even better when you get it on sale.
I have it paired with a 3000 (non-deep spool version) Tatula LT.
I should probably give these a try, since they are based out of WI and all. Hand-tied, Gammy hook, good price.
Not sure I'm loving the angle of the weed guard tho.
Sad is an understatement. I don't hunt or ice fish, so it's usually a looong winter for me. There's really nothing I enjoy more than fishing.
I'll still get out a handful of times, but I know winter is coming. I can't imagine living somewhere where I can fish year-round. I envy the hell out of you guys.
