  1. Am I losing my mind or did you already start a thread on this. I could've sworn I posted in it before. What techniques are you planning for this setup? Dobyns Sierra 734 (micro guides/split grip) is a great, versatile rod. Especially for moving baits.
  2. Ohhh, I'd like to see what those Lime-Purple Passion's look like. I have a handful of bags from the Havoc line but I know I don't have those.
  3. Which colors?
  4. Pics...check that...video or it didn't happen.
  5. Oh really? That's...interesting. That explains why both of the baits were like that.
  6. You weren't kidding about the stock hooks being junk. They even came bent in the package. I put some size 4 KVD's on the 2" like you said. I can definitely see them getting hung up from time to time. You don't have any issues with the added weight affecting the buoyancy/action? I also notice out of the box the rear hook is larger than the front. Also, can confirm the triple-grips are sharp. ?
  7. Those little ribs will displace more water, creating vibration and causing the bass to blast them! Your catch rate will go up 39%! - Any Zoom-sponsored YouTuber
  8. With my Curado box, I had foam in the bottom. With this box I don't think it'll be necessary with how tight they fit. If I tip it on it's side they don't slide.
  9. On the bright side...I bet you didn't have any vampires messing with you the rest of the night.
  10. As many of you know, J.J.'s Magic can be a pain in the butt. Not just when using it but also storing it somewhere where it won't tip over, etc. I used to just use an old Curado box to keep mine in, and then keep that in one of my boat lockers. But today I was in Wal-Mart and came across this little plastic container. It's approx. 3.5" x 5.5" (smaller than my Curado box). It was only $3.50 so I figured I'd grab one and see if the jars would fit. Well, they fit perfectly. When you put the box lid on and latch it it's very snug. No way the jars can tip over. I'm thinking you could fit 5 jars in there. Anyways, figured I'd pass this along in case anybody would be interested.
  11. Expride B on sale.
  12. I just remember telling you that if you mess around with the blades the Fishing Gods will curse you.
  13. Daiwa has a new swimbait rod in their Tatula line. 7'3 H/Mod. Rated up to 4 oz.
  14. What jig is that? I know I know (huh??) but having a brain fart.
  15. I almost exclusively use the 4". The 3" is a nice finesse jig trailer. I don't use the 4" for trailers. I flip/pitch with them. Also a good punch bait. There have been so many times where I'll be throwing a Rage Bug or a Brush Hog etc, and won't be doing too well. And I'll switch to a Pit Boss and just like that bites will pick up. It doesn't have a crazy action with a Rage Craw or something of the like, but it has more action than a beaver-style bait. By far my favorite color is Perfection Blue Fleck. Followed by Big Texan. TW carries Perfection but not Perfection Blue Fleck.
  16. The day Berkley stops making the Pit Boss is the day I stop fishing.
  17. Yeah, but do those other places sell Googan posters? I rest my case.
  18. You realize Karls/Catch Co. is a sponsor here, right? They help keep the lights on. I like any heads-up on sale items. I don't care where they comes from. Personally I don't shop there, but I'm sure others do.
  19. With most deep divers, I'll use a 5 speed, or a 6.3. Just so much easier dealing with the drag from those big bills. I can still burn them fast if I want if I just reel really fast.
  20. Speaking of...?‍♂️ I don't even know where to start with this. Besides the pure stupidity of it all, the 15 treble hooks just maaay be against the law in most states.
  21. What gear ratio are you guys throwing the deep cranks on? I know Matt recommends 8 speed, but to that I say 'no thanks!'. To the OP, have you dabbled into lipless cranks yet? I always have one tied on, no matter the time of year.
  22. I have the Fury 795 for my larger swimbaits. But for little lighter hard swimbaits, I have the ALX IKOS Thunder (7'6 XH/mod-fast). Rated up to 2 oz. Also makes a good deep cranking rod and for A-Rigs. Also have the Jenko Savant which is rated up to 2 oz. The tip on this is a little softer than the IKOS.
  23. To this day I still don't now how I managed to hook this little guy. First off, it was t-rigged (obviously the hook popped out at some point). I was pitching docks, working the bait slowly. So it's not like I was stroking it or anything. Also, this isn't some super sharp, light wire hook either. This little guy was so tiny and light, I just don't know how I managed to pierce it considering all those factors.
  24. Palomar for braid. I used to always use the Trilene knot for mono and copolymer and San Diego Jam for fluoro. But starting last year I began using the Trilene knot with my fluoro as well with zero issues. Easily the quickest, easiest knot to tie (for me, anyways).
