  1. Yeah I bought it over the winter. To be fair, I haven't used it a ton yet. They're a JDM company that I didn't know anything about before doing a little research. When I first took it out of the tube, it felt great in hand and balanced really well. It only weighs 3.81 oz, which is about the same as my 6'11 medium+ Poison Adrena. Fit and finish is really nice. The handle is removable, but I doubt I'll ever take it back off. Once you put it on tight, it's in there. It takes some cranking to get it off (at least mine does). But that's fine, I didn't buy it for that reason. As far as usage, I've only used it during one outing this year. I didn't catch anything on it. I was mostly just getting a feel for it and what it can do. It's rated a mod-fast, but I'd say it's a little closer to fast. I think it's gonna do great at a lot of things. Close quarter/pin point spinnerbait fishing for sure. As well as jigs/Texas rigs. Swim Jigs, Chatterbaits, Keitech's.
  2. Something different. Legit Design Stand Out. LEGIT DESIGN STAND OUT Casting Rod 6'10" Med Hvy A rod that supports a wide range of fishing methods that play a central role in power fishing including cover fishing with jigs and worms, as well as single hook hard baits like spinnerbaits and bladed jigs. The 6'10” length combines cast performance and operability. ***PLEASE NOTE: features a removable handle design for easy transportation***
  3. Gosh, I remember being 16, loading my 10' jon boat into the back of my hatchback Horizon TC3 (little longer version of the normal Horizon...I'd say about 5' were inside the car and 5' sticking out the back. It was quite the site) and heading to the local lake with a few rods and a handful of Slug-Go's. The bass absolutely destroyed that bait! I have no idea why I don't use them still today. Obviously more options today, etc. You may have inspired me to buy a pack.
  4. I got mine in the mail today. Those claws are definitely buoyant, causing the bait to stand pretty much straight up. After further inspection I noticed if you open up the claws, there's an actual hole/cavity in between. I was able to fit worm rattles in each claw. I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned in any of the videos I've watched ort articles I've read. That clicking sound could really improve the bait, especially in stained water. In this pic you can see the right claw has a rattle in it, while the left claw doesn't. It keeps the pinchers more open. You may have to add a tab of glue before inserting it to keep it from coming out easily. Now, this does change the buoyancy of the bait. It no longer stands straight up, but the bait does still fall down/over slowly once it hits the bottom. I'm not sure how weedless this bait will be. I can see it snagging on wood easily the same was the Dark Sleeper and Sleeper Gill does. Especially once the bait starts getting beat up. I see it excelling more around rock.
  5. I've never fished them myself but have always heard good things. I always wanted to check out their glass-composite rods. For $80 it may be worth a try.
  6. Well now, didn't you win the lottery! I agree on thinking these will be money. The Cover Scat has been amazing and I expect the same from these.
  7. Midway has Temple Fork Outfitters rods 50% off.
  8. Wish you guys wouldn't have said anything. Now I feel like I got ripped off. ? Did you see the free bags in your confirmation email or???
  9. If I were you I'd definitely jump the border.
  10. They aren't made out of that elaztech plastic?
  11. I'm just hoping it's more weedless than the other two Sleepers.
  12. Despite being a fan of the Dark Sleeper and Sleeper Gill, I told myself I was gonna pass on this one. Without getting it in hand, it just didn't do anything for me. But Mr. Monkey said "I don't think so". I just ordered a few. Sadly the few red colors are out of stock. TW, Omnia and BaitWrx all have some in stock right now.
  13. You're right. It shows they have them in stock but you can't ad them to your cart.
  14. I believe TW has them in stock.
  15. Man I'm never gonna live that down. ? But yes, you're likely correct. And yet I keep on buying. SMH. Stopped at a ma and pa shop today to look for a rod for a bday present. I swore I wasn't getting anything for myself. I came out with a rod and 3 packs of the new ned Senko's in the Fire Craw color because I didn't think I had that color yet. $7/bag where as they're $4.50 right now at Omnia. But they were giving me a sad look and crying "please, please take us home". Anyways, I get home and come to find out I had 2 bags already that I had ordered at some point over the winter. It really is a sickness.
  16. Me too. Watching myself get bigger. Hey, it's been a long winter.
  17. Your art work on the Fluke didn't go unnoticed.
  18. One of my favorites.
  19. Pay the $29 for premium and the $30 credit automatically shows up on your account/cart.
  20. Also the Jackall Archelon. In stained water, stick a worm rattle into the small hole/cavity, weighted Texas rig and hold on to your britches!
  21. Agree with 20# leader being way too heavy for a drop shot leader. You could also drop down the braid to 15# or even 10#. As far as how far down you put the weight, that's determined by how far off the bottom you want it. There is no set distance for that.
  22. I ended up ordering the new model of the 7' med-light/regular Howell casting rod. I already had the same model in the previous line. Right away out of the tube I could tell how much lighter it felt. I weighed both rods. Old version weighs in at 4.95 oz. which is quite heavy for a 7' med-light. The new version weighs only 4.10 oz. I knew the reel seats on the new one's changed, but wasn't expecting the handle to change on this model. The older version has a full handle, where as the new model has split grip (which I like much better for a rod this size where I likely won't be casting with 2 hands). This obviously contributes to the lighter weight. Cosmetically I think it looks much nicer. I don't mind the old ones, but the darker gray/silver of the new one's are an improvement IMO. The black (it's almost a chrome/black if that makes sense) reel seat is a nice touch as well over the previous model. The seat is also thinner as you can see in the pics. I'll definitely be selling the older version now. At the same price, the new model is clearly a no-brainer IMO. Granted I did get the older version at a really good price.
  23. Yeah I think this is their version of the Deps Cover Scat (or vice versa), Designed to be fished Texas-rigged weightless. https://www.***.com/news/yamamoto-announces-new-yamatanuki-heavy-soft-plastics
  24. Lots of good ones mentioned already. I did really well on the NetBait Flat Sided Shad and NetBait Crush Worm last year. The smallies especially loves the Flat Sided Shad.
  25. Good luck! I can honestly say I have never fished the C Rig before.
